As Alyssa and Derek rode the firebird away from her father’s stronghold, she cast a powerful enchantment on it obscuring it from sight burying it with an impenetrable layer of vines and thorns. She hoped one day she might be able to find a way to change her father’s mind, but for now the realms were safe from her his machinations, and without a leader the remaining Drund family members would go underground along with his followers.
