"How stupid is he?! Is he completely blind?!" Dane burst out.

Ginger seemed surprised for a moment before letting out a small laugh. "You're sweet."

She was being dismissive. Thinking he was just trying to sweet talk her. That wasn't it at all. How was he supposed to get his point across properly?

"I'm completely serious. You're perfect, Ginger, no matter what anyone else says or does and—"

Dane didn't get to finish what he was saying because she kissed him much more forcefully this time. To the point that she ended up cutting herself on his fang after all. He was horrified both that she got hurt and that she was confused by what happened. 

He barely managed to blow it off. That had been too close!

To his great shock, Ginger asked him if he wanted to be her boyfriend as he gave her a tissue for her lip. Seriously? After what just happened?
