Haneul sat down in his car, door wide open. He was looking at the scene in front of him and he felt like he was watching a movie. A horror movie. It felt so unreal somehow. He saw Lucy walking out of that dark room crying, head hanging low as he allowed the police officer to walk her out of the building and to the ambulance. Once a blanket was placed on her shoulders, she finally lifted her head, allowing Haneul to take a better look at her.
And it was heartbreaking.
The girl that was once happy and would always cheer people on was now broken. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying so much and her body was tense, always being on edge, continuously paying attention to her surroundings. He didn’t miss the way her eyes were also following every move of the woman who was checking up on her.
She was scared.
No. Wrong.
She was terrified.
