Chapter Eighteen

In less than an hour, Kendra was called out to have her dinner. She wondered when the delivery person delivered the food without her hearing the sound of him. She walked to the dining room praying not to regret choosing plantain porridge over her usual Melon soup.

The sweet aroma of the food was the first thing that greeted her nose when she came out.

"Can plantain porridge be this good?" She wondered when she perceived it. Her thoughts were interrupted by the elderly woman she had seen earlier. The woman was now mopping the kitchen floor and with a confused look, Kendra greeted her.

She replied, smiled, and continued. She thought of asking Iyke but then hesitated. She didn't want him to think that she would relent in not speaking to him or snubbing him.

She ate the sumptuous meal ravenously and ensured that there was nothing left on the plate, not even a single periwinkle.

"Leave it. I will wash it."
