“Fine. I’ll be here first thing tomorrow morning,” Darby conceded.
Riordan shook his head. “Why don’t we meet somewhere else?”
Darby shrugged. “I don’t mind. Any place in mind?”
“Nope,” Dillon answered. “You choose. Just text or call us, and we will be there.”
“All right then. Sounds good to me.”
“Great,” Riordan said. “Now, Dillon and I will drive you home. Come on.”
Darby continued to walk next to Dillon as they tailed Riordan from behind. Most of the time, he couldn’t wait to reach pack land after a long day at work or whatever else it was that he did outside, because he wanted to be reunited with his fellow werewolves. Now he wished the journey home might drag on a bit longer. He wanted to remain by his soul mates’ side for as long as possible.5
“Is something wrong?”
Dillon had done his best to maintain a happy expression on his face throughout breakfast early the next morning, but he failed. He glanced up at Darby before nodding.
