CHAPTER 3 Cardiovascular malfunction

10:14 am

I woke up pretty late, as I was yawning and stretching from oversleeping. I noticed that Anna was not in the bed .I screamed her name as I was still getting down the bed. She came in as she heard me call her name. I asked Anne where she had gone and she said that she heard the telephone ring in the sitting room and she had to go answer it . I asked her who called and she said "the caller had said he was calling for a patient named Debbie Patterson and she had told him to call back later ". I nodded knowing that it was doc Raphael. I went to the sitting room and called his number and he picked up almost immediately saying " Hi , I was just about to call you " .

I greeted him and asked why he called and he told me that I should come later today if I wasn't busy to come and collect my test results .I replied ok and said "see you later " , then I hung up and went to take a shower.

When I came out of the shower , I had breakfast with Anne who left after the meal. She had gone to get groceries .I got my laptop and sent an application letter to Globex business company, then she shut her laptop . I went to my closet and wore a mustard yellow dress and a pair of brown sandals . I quickly tied my hair into a ponytail and applied a pink gloss to improve my lip colour and I headed out to Flowerence Hospital...

When I got there , I told the nurse that I had an appointment with doc Raphael luchas. She asked me for my name and I told her . Then she asked another nurse to show me to doctor Raphael's office. When she should me his office , she left. I took a deep breath before knocking on his door and he said I should come in .I greeted and he asked me to seat .As I sat down ,he asked how I was feeling and I said I was okay .He started telling me about the reason why I had fainted the day before. He said that I was suffering from a heart disease called Brugada syndrome. I was shocked when he said that if the disease wasn't kept in check that I could loose my life . My eyes welled up with tears and he offered me a tissue . I took it and wiped my eyes not wanting him too see me weak . He told me all about the disease and he prescribed medications for me . Then he told me that he would make arrangements for my weekly checkups at the hospital. I thanked him and left after buying the medicines using the prescription. I went outside the hospital and took a cab to return back to Anne's Lodge which was where I lived . As I got into the cab , my eyes welled up with tears, I cried my eyes out . When I got out of the cab , my eyes were red and swollen. is looked at the window and immediately realised that Anne was home and since I didn't want her to worry , I took a deep breathe and tried to compose my self. When I went in , Anne was watching TV at the sitting room. She looked over to me when she heard the door open. I smiled at her trying to look okay .She looked at me for a while and asked me what had happened to me . I told her that i wouldnt want to burden her with my problems but she kept persisting that I tell her ,when I refused, she reminded me of a promise we made to ourselves when we were graduating. (We had promised to be besties till death do us apart ,and also to share everything with each other). When she reminded me of the promise we made to each other, I got emotional and started sobbing, I told her what the doctor had said and she starting consoling me with tears threatening to stroll down her face . Why did I have to be different from others who have an enjoyable life to live.
