3 Reasons To Survive In The Apocalypse With A System

Leo, a gamer and streamer, woke up one day to find the world around him had collapsed. And the one to even make him realize this was a six-inch tall girl? "Your first mission is to find three reasons to survive in this apocalypse." This was what he was told once he came to terms with the world coming to an end. Now, in order to survive in this new world, he had to make use of this system and try to complete the missions he was given while also trying to level up by killing zombies. Can a normal guy like Leo live long enough to even complete his first mission? Can Leo fight against the odds and build a safe haven for himself? I Will Do My Best

With a new feeling between the two, they left the store after eating and drinking a few sodas. While they were warm, they still gave the caffeine they needed to keep going. They turned onto the main road, which they planned to take for a few streets before crossing and heading down a side street that would take them to Bakers Street, where they would need to follow it to the end before taking a left onto the street that the dance studio was located.

"It really feels like an apocalypse when you get onto a main road like this," Rebecca commented as she looked at the rows of cars.

"It sure does…." Leo kept one hand on the hilt of his sword. His other was holding Rebecca's. Nora was sitting on top of his head with a knowing smile. She had seen this coming from the time she saw how Rebecca reacted to her snuggling up next to him.

Rebecca held her bat in her free hand against her shoulder. She never thought she would end up in a relationship during a zombie apocalypse, of all things. She looked at the hand holding hers and tightened her grip. She felt a little safer walking down the street like this.

As she was watching their hands, she suddenly crashed into Leo's back, causing her to stumble back a few steps and almost cry out from bumping her nose. "Wha?" She quickly went quiet. In front of them were at least ten zombies.

Leo turned to her and pressed his finger against his lips. She nodded and let him grab her hand and slowly lead her past a few cars until they reached the side of a box truck. Leo let go of her hand as he squatted down and looked under the truck. He turned to Rebecca and said: "Put your bag underneath. I will put mine there too. Once they are under, crawl under yourself and stay put. I will go clear the path."

"Leo…." Rebecca wanted to stop him and say they could take another route, but her lips were sealed as Leo kissed them.

"Stay put and do as I say. I do not want you to get hurt." Leo said softly. "It is only ten of them. It won't take long."

"Okay…." Rebecca finally nodded and lowered her head. She wished she was stronger so she could help. She had been working out the past week, but that was about all. Leo had not taught her how to fight at all.

Leo took his backpack off and put it under the truck. He then helped Rebecca take hers off before stuffing it under, too. He already looked around the area and saw no crawling zombies, so he was sure she would be alright as long as she did not make any noise.

"Be careful." Rebecca gave Leo a kiss on the lips before crawling under the truck.

Leo smiled and hummed in answer before standing up. And walking towards the end of the truck. He could see four of them were grouped up. "Nora, what do you think my chances are of dealing with all of them?"

"If you are able to cut their heads off quickly enough, you can do it. You just fight forward. I will watch your back and warn you if you are being attacked. I will also tell you when to eat some gummies." Nora knew now was the time for her to step up as well.

As long as Leo can continue to grow stronger, the more likely it will be for him to survive. He needed to at least hit level ten as soon as possible to get ready for the higher-level zombies.

"I will be counting on you." Leo knew he could trust Nora to be his second pair of eyes. Otherwise, he would not have been able to sleep so soundly since the start of all of this.

Under the truck, Rebecca could barely see what was going on. She could see Leo running out with this sword in hand. He ran up behind two zombies and quickly cut their heads off. "Eight more…." She whispered softly. She watched as he continued forward. Another zombie fell quickly as his sword sliced through its neck.  He then swung his body around at the zombie that was coming up behind him and stabbed out, putting the tip of his blade right between the zombie's eyes.

"Very good!" Nora cheered him on. She was very excited to see that Leo's ability to wield a sword was rising quickly.

[Learned Skill: Swordsmanship (lvl 1)]

Leo had no time to care about the new skill as she continued forward. Six zombies had already fallen under his blade. The last four were clustered together, making them a bit harder. "Here goes nothing!"

Leo did not even try to pull any of the four zombies. He just charged forth and attacked head-on. The zombies, from what he could tell, were very slow. They did not have any reaction speed or ability to block his attacks. This made killing them very easy. "Done!"

Leo's words filled the air. Rebecca, who was hiding under the truck let out a sigh of relief as she slowly made her way out. She brushed off the dirt on her body before grabbing the two bags. "Leo…"

Leo turned to see Rebecca walking over with a gloomy expression. She walked right up to him, pressed her forehead into his chest, and just stood there with her arms to the side. Both backpacks and bat that she had in her hands dropped to the ground. She lifted her hand and gently punched his chest. "Don't just leave me like that again…." She had already gotten used to his presence. If he were to disappear now, what would she do? She did not think she could take being alone. This had nothing to do with his ability to make zombie gummies drop. It had everything to do with her own selfishness of wanting the man who had wormed his way into her heart to stay alive by her side.

Leo sighed as he hugged the slim waist of the girl in front of him. "I will do my best to not leave you behind like that. But just know that I will need to continue to level up. There will be times when you will be left alone. I apologize now for doing so, but it is something that needs to be done in order for us to survive."

Rebecca knew this. She just hated the thought that she seemed so useless that she could not help him grow stronger. She slipped her arms around his waist and hugged him tightly. After taking a deep breath, she slowly let it out as she said: "Then just promise that you will always come back to me….."

"I will do my best…."
