HTTYD: A New Night Fury

It was a night with a beautiful moon in the sky, with no clouds in sight. On the island, there is a forest, and in that forest is a cave. In this cave is a unique dragon egg, this egg is almost completely black, with just a few blue and gold strokes on the bottom.

*shuffle*

(Anaeth POV)

'Why is this so cramped?' I can feel that I'm not in my bed as this feels like liquid around me.

*crack*

'Oh! Did something crack under my...hand? Leg? No need to think about that, gotta get out of this little prison I am in.'

*crack, crack*

'Come on, just a little bit more.' I push more as I feel the walls crumble.

*Thump*

'Ow!' I open my eyes slowly, slowly adjusting to the dim light in this cave I found myself in. 'Why am I in a cave? I did feel pain so this would be a reality, but why do I feel not-so-human anymore?' I put my 'hands' under me and try to push myself upright, but fell over again.

'I feel like my legs are shorter and stubbier.' I look down at my supposed hands and see black paws. 'Yeah, this is not human.' I then look behind me and see a tail, a beautiful white and cyan tail with small fins growing out. 'This looks beautiful, but also not human. Does this mean that I am a dragon of sorts? I can feel some little wing-like things on my back, my legs are as long as my arms. That checks out, I am officially a dragon.'

My nose is then hit with sweet and good-smelling food and my stomach growls a bit loudly for my comfort. I look back to where that smell is coming from and see the egg that I came out of, a beautiful black, cyan, white, and gold egg. I walk over to it and see the nutrients that are still in the egg. 'Better to eat than to starve,' and I begin eating up what I believe is the protein part of the egg, as it is completely see-through.

(After eating)

'A good meal if I say,' I was lying on my back and resting. The night was warm so I would guess it is late spring or summer. Ah well, better get some sleep.

(Morning)

The morning sun warmed me up as I was laying on a rock. My black scales absorbed the heat that the sun shines on this little island, and by little I mean small. As I can walk from one end to another in a couple of minutes. At least there is a beach where I can catch fish.

*growl*

'Damn it, thinking of fish got me hungry again,' I stood up and walked to the beachside where there are a lot of fish swimming about. I haven't yet tried to swim so I don't know how this will go, I could try to fly up and dive down but that will take longer to practice, so just jumping in will do.

I spot a delicious-looking fish and mark it for a hunt, walking back a bit I take a running start and jump into the water where the fish is.

*chomp*

'I caught it! Ahahaha! I actually got a fish on my first try!' I was jumping around with a flopping fish between my teeth. I just could taste the delicious fish blood in my mouth as I gulped it down. Now that I am a dragon, I don't need to worry about diseases from raw meat.
