Astrid as a Rider

(3rd pov)

As Astrid hides behind the edge and waits for the trickster dragon to find her, she couldn't forget the choice she made a while back.

(Flashback!)

Hiccup ran out of his home with the leather tail fin for Toothless he had been perfecting the entire night, he was feeling happy that this might be the time that the prosthetic worked as he had been planning. He ran at a fast pace to not be spotted by others and his dad as he wanted to keep Toothless a secret. As he ran to the small bridge that he had built he noticed that Astrid was leaning on one of the posts, she had been waiting for him for a while.

"A-ah! Astrid, what are you doing here?" Hiccup asked and awkwardly walked to the other side. "I could ask the same thing, Hiccup." Astrid then took a hold of Hiccup and dragged him with her. "I want to know what you have been doing in that forest every day and evening, you have even missed out on some dragon hunting classes." She then placed him down next to a tree and stood in front of him. "You will show me what you are doing and I might hold your secret, but if it is too dangerous then I will tell the Chief."

Hiccup held the fin close to him and kept his mouth shut, to possibly not reveal any secrets. Astrid sighs, as she knows that when Hiccup has his mind on something nothing will stop him. She picks him up and pats his shoulders.

"Okay Hiccup, I can see that you are holding a very big secret, but I want to know what you have been doing during the day." Astrid then made a worried face that she knew Hiccup couldn't resist.

"Fine, just follow me, but don't make any noise when we get to the pond." Hiccup then held the prosthetic under his armpit and walked forward.

(Flashback end!)

Anaeth was holding Astrid up by the scruff of her shirt. She had been caught watching Hiccup doing his everyday tests with Toothless.

"And how did you get caught now?" Hiccup asked as he looked at Astrid with a smile. "Well, the trickster dragon probably saw my head and flew up to me and took me down here," Astrid responded as she crossed her arms.

Hiccup looked at Astrid and then at Anaeth, and a thought came to mind. 'Wouldn't it be cool to have Astrid as a fellow dragon rider?'

"Hey Astrid, would it be awesome to be a dragon rider?"

Astrid then looked at him in surprise and Anaeth rolled her eyes, knowing where this would go. "What? A dragon rider?" Astrid asked wide-eyed. "You know, ride a dragon in the sky as you fly over the clouds." Hiccup gestured to the sky above them.

"I mean, sure, it could be fun." Astrid was then let go of and she fell forward toward Hiccup, who panicked and caught her with a hug. Astrid stiffened when she felt that Hiccup hugged her, a small tinge of pink glowed from her face and she hugged back.

Anaeth looked at the two and then at Toothless, he looked at her. She started walking towards him and he started backing away. They started running around, as Anaeth wanted to tackle and hug Toothless but he did not want to get a hug. Hiccup and Astrid broke the hug and looked at Anaeth and Toothless, as Anaeth was laying on Toothless while he was on his back.

Astrid smiled as she saw the lovely atmosphere in this secluded place on the island.
