Chapter Eighteen
After the kiss I had shared with Ashton, things have started to pick up between us. It wasn't anything big per se, it was more us getting closer.
Isabel was ecstatic about me and Ashton so say the least. She went nuts when we would ever so slightly hold eye contact with one another. To which I had to scold her for causing a scene.
It had been a week since the date and I was finally off my probation with my mom. I had gotten off fine with the school since it was my first offense but they said if it happened again I'd get detention or worse; suspension.
Alex had finally apologized for punching Luke, I forgave him for his actions and we've moved past it. I knew it was only a matter of time before he gave in and apologize.
I finish up my mascara and grab my bag off my bed.
My morning goes by pretty fast. As per usual the ride to school was fast. My morning classes went by with ease. The majority of class time was spent on in class work time on homework.
Calum was only a tad bit annoying in history but I shut him out with music. Ashton and I got in trouble for goofing off and had to be separated for the class period, but that didn't stop us from making stupid faces from across the room.
The rest of the morning was spent on my phone multitasking texting, music, and doing my school work.

I notice another person walk up by me as I'm about to shut my locker.
"I'm so sorry that you and Luke didn't work out." Sophie pounds placing her hand on my arm out of fake sympathy. What was she playing at?
"I don't care. Just leave, please." I brush her hand away getting ready to walk away.
"That's it? You're just going to walk away from me?" She turns me back to her, and I groan at her persistence to fight with me. Did she have a mother better to do with her life?
"Yes. I really don't want to have a pointless fight with you just because you want to. Bye." I turn away, again. She really couldn't get a clue.
I move as quickly as I could in hopes Sophie will drop whatever this is.
"Emmy!" I stop dead in my tracks at the sound of Calum's voice. I scowl at him for using the not so clever nickname he's decided to use against my will.
"What?" I growl at him, all I wanted was to find Isabel and eat lunch. Was that so hard?
"What's with you, I'm just saying hi."
"Really? At this particular moment, you pick to bother me?" I grumble as I walk towards my table. Isabel is already situated waiting for me.
"Oh come on, I'm not that bad." He says following me.
"Calum why are you ove- You, Calum why are you talking to her?" Michael stops his previous sentence once he notices my glare at his friend.
"Would you mind taking Calum away, I really don't want to deal with him or you for that matter, thanks." I ignore his rude comment towards me and say sit down next to a confused Isabel.
"What is up with you guys?" Calum looks between me and Michael.
"Nothing." We both say at the same time causing us to then glare at one another.
"Come on Cal, let's go." Michael says breaking our staring contest and forcefully drags a protesting Calum behind him.
I bang my head against the table in frustration. How do I attract these people in my life? Stupid coincidences.
"What the hell did I just witness?" Isabel nudges me.
"My luck is terrible. Calum won't leave me be and of course he's best friends with my arch-nemesis." I turn my head to look at her.
"How is he your arch-nemesis?"
"We keep running into each other on bag luck. The first time he tripped me then I threw my pencil at him." I sit back in my chair.
"Damn, his friend was cute though." I stare blankly at her.
"Really? Him? Out of all the boys here you like Calum?" I by all means did not want to see more of him.
"I can't help it." She defended.
"Well, I guess it's better than you liking Michael." We both laugh.
Isabel of course had to take one look at Calum and decide he's attractive. I won't lie and say I don't find him cute, because he is. I just wouldn't date him because he's overly annoying to me.
I wouldn't have a problem if they happened to get together, I would just have to get over the fact that Michael will probably be around more.
Michael and I share various glares throughout the art. I was only in this class for the credit, and I absolutely hated this class because of my lack of talent. Having him in this class didn't help my mood either.
As the end of the day finally hits, I push past various students blocking the hallway to make my final stop at my locker. I really didn't understand why they had to be in the way.
I see Sophie trotting her way towards me for the second time today. I slam my locker as I stare her down daring her to come at me.
Alex halts to a stop by me and gives me a confused glance. Sophie decides to give up and walks away. Thank you, Jesus.
"Who are you starting down?" He looks ahead.
"Nobody." I turn and leave him to walk to the car. He breaks out of his trance and catches up with me.
I march up to my room to finish the remaining homework I had left. I wiz through the work pretty easily.
I glance around my room. I should really personalize it. I've been here for quite a while and I still hadn't bothered to put up anything.
I reach over to grab a box that has been in the corner since my first day here and open it. It carried many of my personal items like pictures and nicknacks from the different places I've lived and different posters I'd hung on my walls. I take a one direction poster and place it on my bed to hang up later (Let's pretend all five are still a thing).
I put a picture of Alex and me by my bed and some of my old friends on my desk.
I really hope this will be the last time I have to unpack these things. With everything set up, my room is now decorated to look like a teen girl's room. I place the empty box in my closet for later use and plop back down on my bed.
