✒ Chapter 52 : Us until the end

Days passed, Rei sleeps a lot than before. He lost some weight, he had nominal appetite which made it harder for Khein to remain not to worry and composed.

'Heart beats fast, colors and promises. How to be brave, how can I love when I'm afraid?' Khein was singing and playing his guitar in front of Rei who in the moment is not familiar with him.

"Do you still remember the first time you saw me singing on the stage?" Khein was smiling, Rei stared at him for a long time. It was as if his heart was trying to remind his brain who the guy is.

"Remember the first time we met when we were kids? You kept tailing me, you kept saying that you love me. And I kept pushing you away because I thought you were making fun of me." Khein chuckled. He remembered how cute Rei looked back then when the cheerful little guy gave him a box of white chocolates. He even pushed Rei on the ground but he still brought the chocolate with him at home. He ate all of them at night and had a stomach ache the next day. Rei was worried that Khein was mad at him for not going to the playground the following day. Rei brought another box of chocolates so Khein would forgive him.

Remembering such adorable memories, Khein's tears betrayed him as it landed on his guitar.

"Our first kiss, do you think you could fool me" Khein chuckled. Rei probably believed that Khein didn't know. Their first kiss was not the pasta incident, but when they were younger. There was once when Khein was skating and decided to take a nap on a bench inside the park. Rei thought that Khein was sleeping, he planted a soft kiss on Khein's lips and left immediately, afraid that Khein might beat him up.

"You psycho, you even ran away after kissing me that time" Khein chuckled and hugged his guitar.

"And you know what, I don't want to say this, but..." Khein sighed as the memories during the Otaku Festival began to remind him.

"Nevermind" Khein said as he felt his cheeks burned.

"Say it, Kheiny" Rei spoke. Khein looked surprised as he stared at Rei. Rei recognized him, at last. Khein nodded and smiled, he should better tell Rei before he forgets again.

"That moment when you were carrying a large bag with full of merchandises, probably was the happiest day of my life. That was the first time I heard my heart beated so loud, I didn't know what to do. And I ended up hugging you." Khein felt like he just made a confession. Rei looked happy upon hearing those words.

"I couldn't even sleep at night that day" he added.

"Kheiny, I'm sleepy." Rei talked even lesser. He was no longer aware of what was happening in the outside world, nor he did care anymore.

"Do you want me to sleep beside you?" Khein asked. Rei ignored him.

"I don't want to talk" Rei said and closed his eyes. Khein sighed and carressed his boyfriend's forehead. It has been hard for him for staying beside the person who recognized him but most of the time, not anymore.

"What did I do wrong to deserve this kind of fate?" Khein whispered. Rei opened his eyes again and frowned when he saw the rebel guy's 'unfamiliar' face.

"Hey, do you know where my mom is?" Rei asked Khein. Khein gulped, he didn't know how to answer the question.

"She went to buy you white chocolates." Rain lied, he just arrived without letting Khein notices him.

"And my dad?" Rei added. Innocent, Rei no longer had an idea of what he had done in the past. Rain cleared his throat and spoke as if he was giving a hint to Khein.

"He went to heaven, you told him to go so." Rain said while looking at Khein. Khein frowned as he looked at Rain, he was confused.

"Ahh I want to go where dad is" Rei said and decided to fall asleep.

"What do you mean?" Khein asked Rain. He remembered one time when Rei told him about his father and he didn't know what exactly happened.

"My dear brother drugged our own father, leading him to get in coma and died afterwards. Well, the bastard deserves it. I would have done the same thing if Rei didn't do it." Rain chuckled. He grabbed Khein by the wrist and pushed him on the wall. Khein's back hit the wall real hard.

"Aren't you too lucky to own him? It was me who received all the beatings from that bastard just to protect Rei. I even went overseas so he wouldn't suffer much. Yet, he still chased after you even after growing up and getting separated from you. You don't even love him when we were younger. Why now?!" Rain shouted. Khein bowed his head and gulped the lump inside his throat.

"Why are you here now? It should be only me taking care of him. It should be me reminding him about everything. Why did you have to come here?! I told you about his condition so you would give up and just move on. He won't be needing you anymore. You can rest and forget about him. He won't remember you no matter what you do anyway. So why bother taking care of him?" Rain hissed. He glared at Khein while holding the rebel guy's collar tightly.

"Because I love him. I don't give a damn if he forgets about me. I'll be with him until the end. I will stay beside him. I'll make his heart remember everything even when his brain chooses to forget about me." Khein hissed. He thought maybe he really desreved all these for treating Rei badly in the past.

"This is my karma, does that make you feel better?" Khein asked, eyes glaring at Rain.

"I'm sorry if I took Rei away from you. But even until now, I won't give him up." Khein said and walked out of the room. Rain leaned against the wall and looked at Rei's sleeping face.

"And how am I supposed to look after that bastard for you? Aren't you too cruel to ask such favor?" Rain said while clenching his fists.

He remembered the words that came out from Rei's mouth before his younger brother became more severe.

'Rain, please look after Khein for me. He's just hot headed at first, but he's kind and cute. I can't give him to other guys but you. And I can't give you to other guys but him. Please take care of Kheiny for me.'

"You're unbelievable, my dear brother." Rain said and watched the fragile looking face of his brother. He sighed and kissed Rei's forehead as he whispered, as if making a promise, "I'll try, for you"
