Damar : The PI

"Thanks for standing up for me guys" Chinju said as they picked out things on the list Old Man gave them..

"we were not standing up for you., we stood up for ourselves" Jato replied without any expression on his face.... Huh?? What do you mean you stood up for yourselves?.. Chinju asked confused...

"well she was bullying you and you see Flatty, in this whole world, only two people have the right to bully you.. And that's me and Jato" Zairo shrugged as he explained...

"to be honest, she was right. Your boobs are like grapes.. But only me and Zairo can tell you that. No one else should dare say that to you" Jato said, then continued picking out things they needed.

Chinju just stood there watching them in utter disbelief... So they were just fighting for their own personal right to call her names.. Not that they were helping her... These guys are just unbelievable....

They got back home around 8pm...

They heard someone talking to Old Man.. They walked into the living room and they saw a man sitting with Old Man.

"oh you guys are back"... Old Man said.. The man sitting with him turns his head to look at them..

"Hey guys I'm back!!! He said with a wide grin on his face, revealing a set of brown teeth... That would make you wonder if he didn't know the way to a dentist...

" Hi Damar... They all replied in a voice that sounded more like a weak sigh...

It was Damar.. He was a fifty-four year old man with round face. He was short with a big round tummy. He was always wearing that same brown hat and that same brown jacket. He always had a smile on his face that deeply annoyed them. They had no idea why he was always smiling.

Damar is a PI.. Private investigator.... He got jobs from people who felt like the police were incapable of finding solutions, and then if he was also not able to find a solution, or he felt the situation smelt demony, he brought it to them.

They never liked the jobs that Damar always brings... His jobs were always stressful, lacked enough information and he paid them very little. But Old Man would say it's not always about the money, it's about the people you get to save...

They could only wonder the kind of job he had for them now....

"Romani Elementary school... It is a private school with twenty-five classrooms, thirty teaching staffs, and eight non-teaching staffs that includes five janitors and three security guards.....

"Are you here to teach us maths huh??... What's with the numbers. Just go straight to the point already please!!... Zairo said in frustration... He did not understand why he had to listen to this man talk about statistics of a school... Chinju and Jato were feeling the same way.... But Damar did not pay attention to their frustrated faces... He just gave them his annoying smile.... And it only frustrated them the more..

Each classroom has fifteen students... Which makes the total number of children in the school 375... Or at least it was three hundred and seventy-five. Between the last three months, children have been going missing in that school. All within ages 5-8... Altogether, fifteen children have been recorded missing in the school.....

Last week another child of six years went missing, now adding to the number making it sixteen children...

That's when they came to me for help... With children going missing like they are just a bunch of needles, scared parents are withdrawing their children from the school, and the police have no lead on the case., so they came to me...

"then investigate the case and solve the mystery, why are you here? Zairo says...

" I'm sure he thinks a demon is responsible for the missing kids.... Jato says..

"he always thinks a demon is responsible for everything.., even though it's just a case of a lost bike" Chinju says scornfully...

"This time I'm sure, I have carefully carried out some investigations, and discovered that all the children went missing on school grounds... But yet there was no clue as to who or what took the children... So I concluded that it was the work of a very clever and evil demon..

"or a very clever and evil 'Human'... Zairo countered, stressing the word human...

" no I'm sure it is a demon this time.., I checked all the CCtv's and there was nothing on the children's disappearance...

But then I went over them again, then I found one Cctv footage, where one of the missing kid was taken. It was not quite clear and it skipped. And maybe that is why the police missed it.. Hell even I almost missed it if not for my sharp senses...

He was always like this. He never missed a chance to praise himself..., and to talk about how good of a PI he is...

"we know.., we know.., so back to the footage.. What did you see?? Zairo asked..

" or right... Let me show you" Damar said.. He brought out his laptop from his bag.., he was fiddling with the laptop, trying to find where he stored the footage... Zairo and the others just rolled their eyes at him, thinking how someone so disorganized could call himself a private investigator...

"Ah ha... Found it...

He stopped at one footage with a little boy fiddling with something.. He was right, the video was not clear...

In a second the boy was standing there, and in the next he was gone... There was a glitch in the footage... The video clearly shows the time the boy was standing there, was 11:23am..,and then suddenly it changed to 11:30am.... 7minutes of the video was missing... And in that seven minutes was when the boy went missing...

"so how did you know that it was a demon huh? The footage clearly shows that 7 minutes is missing and there was no clue as to who took the boy... Zairo said shaking his head..

" so non of you saw that? Damar asked in a tone that sounded like he was extremely shocked at the fact that they did not see 'that'...

"see what?? The three of them echoed

" you didn't see the demon in the video? He asked again really shocked...

"what demon?? They echoed together again in frustration..

" just show us Damar.... Old Man who had been sitting there quietly said...

Damar turned the laptop to face himself, then scrolled back to when the boy was still standing there..

"there.., see.. That's a demon"... He says, pointing at a place in the video..

There eyes widened, as they saw it... Their Jaws dropped.

"that's... that's a Waterdrop demon"
