"You are the Protagonist"

Transmigrating with a system into a sadistic romance novel is a bit overwhelming for Paige at the age of 34 and being a Hikikomori. "You are the protagonist of this world." She stated while the system directly shocked her left and right for disclosing the storyline to the male lead on her first day. A system trying to satisfy the creator, a shut-in that can't take care of herself, and a teenage male lead catching himself infatuated with the wrong person. The more time passed, the more everything went out of control, as apparently nothing had been as it seemed. A dark version of the typical system trope. WARNING: BLOODY, GORE, ANIMAL ABUSE, MENTION OF RAPE, DRUGS, YANDERE....

17. Part One

The day ended soon after because it was the first day of the school year.

The grumpy teacher told them to be in the principal's office tomorrow half an hour earlier. Then the test results would be ready and had to be discussed either way. He added that they could take their parents directly with them if they expected a negative result. Looking at his eyes, he was already convinced of how this would end.

Paige nodded while Lance ignored him.

Before leaving class, Lance said to her,

"Go to a hairdresser; the villainess surely wouldn't run around with her hair being self-cut." It really doesn't look good. Then he made his way downstairs, leaving her standing there. Natasha ran after him.

Paige fumbled at the uneven and thick ends of her ponytail while packing her school bag. It was true; she should go there on her way home.

Her phone vibrated. They were the bullies' friends. The original Paige, feeling superior to the kids in school and being feared but not enough to get her fake following, had older friends outside. Surely, there was a reason for her to constantly have bad ideas. These friends were the first to go when things got too spicy to handle. They were always giving a lot of suggestions, like ways to get back at the female lead.

But when Paige made them a reality, they were indignant, saying they were just joking. Since transmigrating, these friends could be put off, but she had to play a scene with them soon.

She pocketed her phone and went to search for a shop to buy a new shirt and, after changing into it, to the dry cleaner for her stained blouse. After all, she got her hair cut and went home; it was already early evening.

In her mind, she talked to the system.

[Lance already knows about Jace's rebirth, and that I have no idea about it. Can I at least discuss this with him?]

[No.] It answered coldly.

[Can you at least give me some leeway? Come on, please]

[No.] She sighed.

[Firstly, I can just talk with him despite the punishment since you can't kill me. Secondly, the storyline is already fucked up with Jace being reborn and the male lead knowing the plot. Thirdly, since he knows already and will help, why not let me discuss it with my teammate?]

[If you had read the story, you would know what the plot contains.]

'Wait, what?' she paused. But she read the whole damn book. In the system space, even though she had remembered the story already—she wouldn't take the risk of remembering the storyline wrong,

[Clarify that.]

[You read the first part.]

"What the fuck?" Paige blurted out loud while standing still on the street. A few people looked at her, but she didn't care.

"Are you fucking serious?"

[Yes.] Trying to calm down, she continued on her way home at a snail's pace.

[Then why didn't you inform me about there being a second part?]

[The system would have, but you said you were ready to go, so the system let you jump in character.]

[Then give me the damn plot. Now.] she said, pursing her lips.

[Plotline can only be received in the system space.]

[Then bring me to that goddamn system space.] [Then Paige Smith would die.]

Paige kicked the wall of a building, only to hurt her foot. Despite this, she kicked it a second time. Taking a deep breath, she thought.

'Fine, I don't care anymore either.'

When Lance left, the female lead followed, and behind the female lead followed the petite pigtail girl. Finding this kindergarten boring, he turned around and asked Natasha,

"What is it? Are we living in the same direction, or do you want to say something to me?"

Natasha looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Her startled look would evoke pity from anyone else; however, Lance didn't find this endearing but just fake. As if she had found a romance book and every motion she made was copied from it.

Maybe he really had looked through too many novels in the last month. He ran a hand over his face.

"Hmm? What is it?"

"I... The class president told me not to talk to you because you have connections to drugs. But... but I don't believe this."
