Chapter 12

In fact, Cein did go to Bogor, although it took more than an hour. It turns out that Orlyn's husband was determined to go. Now Sahla is in her hospital room. The doctor said Sahla was fine; her stomach acid was a little high, which caused her stomach pain earlier. Cein sighed with relief and sat down in the chair next to Sahla's bed.

"Thank God you're all right," Cein said, looking at Sahla.

"Yes, thank you for coming all this way," Sahla said with a smile at Cein.

Cein smiled back and nodded in agreement. "Well, now you should rest! I'll keep an eye on you here," Cein instructed.

Sahla nodded happily. Then she pulled Cein's hand forcibly and hugged it to her chest. "I want to sleep like this, okay? I'm afraid you'll leave me alone," Sahla said and closed her eyes without waiting for Cein's consent.

Cein sighed deeply over Sahla's behavior. Nevertheless, Cein let Sahla sleep with his hand on her breast.

In Bandung, Orlyn tossed and turned, unable to sleep. She kicked her blanket roughly and looked at the bedroom door. "Ugh, why can't I sleep? I have to go to the café early tomorrow," Orlyn grumbled before deciding to sit up.

Orlyn's eyes landed on the table where her phone was. She sighed deeply. "Cein didn't even bother to let me know if he arrived safely. He always forgets me as soon as Sahla is around," Orlyn murmured quietly.

Orlyn couldn't work quietly all day. She kept checking her silent phone. Orlyn groaned in frustration in front of her laptop. She deliberately pushed her phone off the table and let it fall to the floor.

"Just leave it and break it," Orlyn said angrily.

Orlyn then returned to her work, ignoring her phone on the floor. She only stopped working when her lunch break was over. From her office, which had transparent glass walls, she could see that the café was already starting to empty. Orlyn looked at her watch; it was already 14:00.

"That's why it's getting quiet; it's my lunch break," Orlyn said, closing her laptop and heading out. However, her foot kicked her phone, sending it flying and hitting the wall near the door.

"Ugh, now it's really broken," Orlyn said as she quickly ran to retrieve her phone.

Orlyn occasionally wiped the shattered screen of her phone. She sighed and regretted her actions. Orlyn then popped a bite of food into her mouth while still keeping an eye on her phone.

"Hey! Eating while staring at your phone? Wait until it explodes and then you'll know!" Kozie's voice startled Orlyn. She looked at Kozie and sighed again.

"It won't explode, but it's broken," Orlyn said and showed Kozie the phone with the cracked LCD screen.

"How did that happen?" Kozie asked, sitting in front of Orlyn.

"It fell and then got kicked by my own foot. It's totally ruined," Orlyn replied and put the phone back on the table.

Kozie nodded and understood Orlyn's story. Then Kozie smiled and patted Orlyn on the shoulder.

"Don't worry, you'll get the chance to buy a new one soon," Kozie said.

"Yeah, I'm planning on going to the service center to get it fixed," Orlyn said.

"Alright."

Kozie nodded in agreement. Orlyn then resumed eating her lunch, while Kozie smiled, amused at how Orlyn always remained calm, even with problems that others might consider significant.

Orlyn got out of Kozie's black Xpander.

"Thanks for driving me home," Orlyn said, looking out the open car window.

"You're welcome. I'd be happy to drive you anytime," Kozie replied, laughing softly.

"That's just your wish," Orlyn said, laughing.

"Okay then, I'll go," Kozie said.

"Got it."

Orlyn stepped back and let Kozie close the car window. After honking once to say goodbye, Kozie's car drove away from Orlyn's house. Orlyn sighed in relief and patted her chest. She looked at her parents' house, she had come here on purpose so that Kozie wouldn't ask why her house had moved.

"Orlyn? What are you doing here?"

Her mother's voice came from behind Orlyn. Orlyn turned quickly and smiled awkwardly.

"Orlyn, how could you hide your marital status from Kozie? It's not good, Orlyn."

Her mother was a little angry about what her daughter had done.

"Yes, I know, Mom, but it's all for work. If I were honest about my marital status, I might not get the job at Kozie's Café," Orlyn explained.

"If you don't get the job, it means it's not for you, Orlyn. Besides, Cein is already taking care of you, right? Cein allowed you to work because he trusts you. And you're playing with fire by hiding the fact that you're married. What if Cein finds out? He might get angry."

"That's why for now, Mom, please don't tell Cein. I don't want to hide this from him forever. I'll tell Cein one day, but not now."

Her mother's eyes widened in shock. "So you want to hide your marital status from Kozie forever? It doesn't work that fast, Orlyn!"

Orlyn didn't answer. To be honest, she wasn't sure how long she could keep this secret from Kozie. Especially since she and Cein were currently on the outs. Orlyn was even more sure that her marital status should remain hidden from Kozie. At least until she was sure that Cein was the right man for her, because honestly, seeing Cein so worried about Sahla made Orlyn doubt if Cein was really the right man for her.

Orlyn slowly opened her eyes when she heard a knock at her bedroom door. Tonight Orlyn was staying at her parents' house because Cein didn't seem to be coming home. Orlyn didn't get out of bed right away, still gathering her senses. The knocking came again and Orlyn rubbed her eyes gently.

"Who is it? Mom?" Orlyn wondered as she got out of bed.

Orlyn slowly opened the bedroom door and found Cein standing in front of her room.

"Cein, you're back?" Orlyn asked casually, still rubbing her sleepy eyes.

"Yes, can I come in?" Cein asked.

"Sure! I'll just stay here," Orlyn said, moving away from the door as Cein sighed deeply at Orlyn's behavior.

Instead of going back to bed, Orlyn went to the bathroom. Cein sat on the edge of the bed and watched Orlyn, who soon came out of the bathroom.

"Go take a shower! I've prepared the warm water," Orlyn said and climbed onto the bed from the other side.

Cein looked at Orlyn, who was busy adjusting the blanket. "The clothes are in the closet. Get them yourself!" Orlyn added without looking at Cein.

"Okay," Cein replied briefly.

Then Orlyn lay down and closed her eyes without saying anything else. She opened them again when she heard Cein sigh. Orlyn looked at Cein and frowned.

"Why don't you take a shower?" she asked.

"Just a moment," Cein replied shortly.

"Alright then."

Orlyn closed her eyes again, ignoring Cein.

"Orlyn," Cein called softly.

Orlyn clicked her tongue in annoyance and opened her eyes again.

"What?"

"Are you still mad at me?"

Orlyn's forehead wrinkled in further confusion. "Is it wrong to ask that? Aren't you the one who was angry with me and went to Bogor without any news? Aren't you the one who yelled at me and compared me to Sahla?"

"I am sorry, I was really overwhelmed and worried about Sahla at that time. We were also at odds with each other, so I'm sorry?" Cein asked.

Orlyn smiled and shook her head. "It's okay. Besides, I wasn't sure from the beginning if you could let go of Sahla. Just do what you think is best. I'll stay relaxed and won't make things difficult for you. You should have married Sahla instead of pretending that I'm your perfect match," Orlyn said, then turned to her side, away from Cein.

"You're so stupid, Lyn! It's obvious that you're jealous now!" Orlyn scolded herself.

Cein could only sigh heavily as he watched Orlyn's back.
