Striving Hard

Edward is still at his own pace trying hard to win Alayna's heart. While she is still busy with her work and taking care of Justin and herself. Alayna likes Edward as he always goes out of his way to charm her. He would bring coffee for her; knows exactly how she likes it.

Small gestures throughout the day showing care for her.

Edward asks Blayke and Danielle to help him as they are the only friends she has, and she listens to them. Blayke told him that she had already talked to Alayna about him, but she did not want to have any relationship with anyone. But as he is insisting that they should talk to her, they will try to convince her one more time, it's a concern for them too. They're worried that she'd be lonely forever if she keeps up the walls she has created and not let anyone in.

Next-Day Blayke calls Alayna and tells her that they are having a girl's night, Danielle is also coming. Alayna tells her that she is busy, and she won't be able to make it. Danielle was hell bent on getting Alayna out of the cocoon she'd built, she used all her cards and pleaded with her that she really needed her to be there. Alayna gives in to her pleads.

Blayke and Danielle both picked up different cuisine and made delicious foods. It looked like a feast, they set everything up in a homely and comforting scene. When Alayna arrived, Justin was also with her. Blayke and Danielle welcomed them, and Blayke took him to a room where there were toys and a computer to play games, but he told her that he was tired and wanted to sleep. So, Blayke put him to sleep and tucked him in the bed.

Blayke tells Alayna that Justin has gone to sleep, she doesn't have to worry about him, and she can enjoy the night with them. They ate the food, watched movies, and when they were lying on the bed with face masks on, Danielle got a chance to ask Alayna about Edward and what she thinks of him. She tells Alayna that they think that Edward is very talented, handsome, and more importantly he respects her and cares for her. They asked her why she wouldn't give him a chance to prove himself?

Alayna told her that she got what Danielle wanted to ask her about, but she does not want to have any relationship with him. It's not that the problem is with him, she knows that he has helped her a lot in all these years, but she thinks that it will be unfair to give him hope of something that she will never feel for him.

Alayna made excuses saying that Justin has school tomorrow and she needs to get home. Blayke tells her that Justin is sleeping, and it will disturb his sleep if she wakes him up, and his school is also near to her home. If Alayna thinks that she will be late for her office, she will send him to school.

Alayna stayed for the night; she was looking very tired, so Blayke made breakfast for Justin and sent him to school.

One day, Alayna got a call from her friends telling her that their friend Lewis who was abroad had come back and had arranged a college reunion. He wanted to meet everyone again and rebuild his connections.
