Chapter 9

He looked quite shocked,

"Keira are you okay?"

He asked

"It is you who isn't okay!! Where we're you when Mara was killed" I said raising my voice.

"Uh, I was home" he replied as though the questions we're too obvious.

"Home? Okay" I said

"What happened between you and mara at the party" I asked

"Nothing much actually, we took some shots together, then she started dancing, she later followed Cole upstairs" he said trying to look calm

"I see, did you happen to see mara 2_3 days prior to the murder?"

I asked

"Yea... Only in school though" he said

"Just school aye, you know what brah check your messenger right now, I'm gonna send you a picture"

I quickly sent him the screenshots

And waited for his reaction

He awkwardly took his phone out, scrolled through it for sometime then I watched his eyes go wide.

"What is it Tee? Surprised?" I said with a smirk.

"So terry you have one more chance to start talking" I said

"The truth is that day I was stalking mara, I've had feelings for her for over 4 years now, I wanted to talk to her to give me another chance, so after she was done making the video, I came out from hiding and approached her, we got into a heated argument but we reconciled and I walked her home, we even spent the night at the home".

That didn't seem right!

Mara didn't like Terry enough to spend the night with him.

I thought to my self

"Really?" I said

"Yea.... Really"

He replied nervously

"So could you explain this?" I said and pointed the waist beads out.

He looked shocked then nervous, then angry.

"You aren't allowed to snoop through my things bitch" he said and tried to snatch it from me, but I was faster, I slid them in my pockets and slapped him before whispering to him

"If I find out you're responsible for mara's death you'll pay DEARLY!" I said in between clenched teeth and stormed out of the house.

I walked passed his mom who was still baking and left the resident.

At this moment, I have to take every detail seriously.

I needed to go back to mara's house, I drove there as quick as possible, Mrs Zane wasn't home, I didn't see her car in the driveway, but I had a spare key mara had given to me before she died 

I hope this didn't feel like breaking and entering.

The whole house looked spotless and clean, I went to mara's room which was clean as well

"Sh*t" I cursed, any chance of me finding any evidence was gone

I layed on her bed frustrated.

5 days before mara's death

Mara's POV

How do I tell Keira that I'm equally in love with Cole? I thought silently while laying on my bed, the party is in a few days and with each day that passes I fall deeper in love with him.

I don't know what to do now, maybe I should back off? No not yet!

Maybe I'll invite him over and try talking to him.

*Ring ring

Cole- "hello"

Mara- "um hey Cole"

Cole- "hi Mara, what's up?"

Mara- "I'm good, I was wondering if you'd come over and help me with my maths I'm finding somethings really difficult?"

Cole-" what's the address?"

Mara-"I'll text you the address right away"

Cole-"um sure, I'll be there in an hour" 

Mara-" okay"

*Hangs up

Yay this is awesome, I'll pull some of my flirting skills on him.

I feel really bad for doing this to Keira.

Cole arrived at my home in 50 minutes.

"Hi" he said

"Hey" I smiled

"Welcome" I said and let them in

He didn't acknowledge my dressing, I wore the most seductive dress I got, but he acted as though he didn't see me, I even put on heavy makeup

"Um are you going for some parade or something?" He asked with a confused look on his face

A parade! Did I look like a clown or something!!?

"Parade?" I chuckled

"Why'd you say so" I asked

"It's pretty extra wearing makeup at home you know"

He said.

"No,I just practice at home" I said trying to wash away the awkwardness

"Okay, what do you need help with?" He asked

"Algebra" I said

"It could be really rough sometimes

"Not really" he said

"Um so where's your book?" He asked

"In my room, follow me" I said trying to hide my excitement.

This plan better work.

We took a seat each on my reading table.

I had put some microwaved leftover pizza

"Do you care for some?" I asked

"No thank you, my cheat meal day was yesterday" he said calmly as he removed his books from his bag.

"You workout?" I asked as I fluttered my lashes

"Yea" he replied without setting or glancing his gaze to me.

Urg this is getting frustrating, but I wasn't down to give up at all.

"Okay so, did you make any highlights on the part you don't understand?" He asked

There was nothing in maths I didn't understand, but on the other hand I didn't highlight anything, I didn't think this through I thought

"Um like it's everything I got a problem with, could you start from basics?" I asked as I slowly placed my palm on his thigh.
