Hey, thanks mate. I really appreciate it. Thank you for reading this mess!
I knew a woman like Frulna in real life. She was a german-american who ran with biker gangs back in the day. She had a mouth twice as foul as anyone I'd ever met, and would contest anyone who even looked at her sideways. A real firebrand, but good to the people she cared about. She was a wonderful woman, and I miss her dearly. The last time I saw her alive, the last thing she said to me as I left was, "Ah, go **** yourself." Haha, great girl.
"Really small or very far away." Hah, I had actually forgotten about this inside joke before I sat down to edit this morning. I used to play DnD with a group of people from my college years. One of our mates had brought a small can of soda one time to practice. Another person, confused by the bizarre proportions of the can (he had poor eyesight and sat across our massive table from the other girl) asked, "Is that can really small or just very far away?" I didn't really find it all that funny, but the table laughed and it sort of became a running joke for the group.
I actually majored in physics in college, and had a love of the sciences throughout most of my life. Typically if I include any explanations like this in my book, you can almost be sure they are based on legitimate formulae I used to practice.
If I'm not mistaken, it's just the end of the sentence...ergo quotation marks. Hmm. Thanks for your input, I'll rectify these as soon as I am able. I appreciate the input, seriously. This book was written in its entirety in Microsoft Word years ago and I'm finding that a simple copy-paste doesn't always work, heh. I'll also take your advice and move the preface to "auxiliary chapters" later today. Much obliged.
Really wish I could figure out how italics work on this site...
