Dude, you're everywhere
I'm also a big fan of the apocalypse theme and feel like I've read every novel in that genre. When I say apocalypse, I mean a true zombie apocalypse set in a single world and not an endless novel like this one. Seriously, this style of soap opera with infinite universes is not to my liking, as it ends up being very fast-paced and with little development of the characters.
The short chapters and little progress in the initial chapters already made me lose most of the interest in continuing reading, I intended to stop, but I decided to give it a chance and continue. However, the last few chapters got so confusing that things started to break the immersion in the story and the author seems to be a master at the art of stalling. With almost 40 chapters, there is no progress, everything seems to be back to square one.
The problem with most authors on this platform is that they are very misleading. They don't care about the reader's satisfaction, but their own interests in writing short chapters like this. It's so irritating. No matter how well written it is, I just don't keep reading something that makes me feel cheated.
Of course, the outcome of a battle is determined by many factors, such as the most exciting battle of the 300 Spartans who defeated legions of Persian soldiers. However, you made a mistake comparing wuxia novels insulting "bullshit" cultivation where X beats Y for being weaker, as the MC always has his cultivation realm at a lower level than the antagonist, but due to various factors the MC ends up winning his fights. Many authors make this mistake, they think that their novels are unique and compare themselves with wuxia novels or any other Chinese novels, but there is almost no difference. The best example of this is the novel by author Xietian, Blood Warlock: Succubus Partner in the Apocalypse, the MC is always defeating enemies of a much stronger order than his own order of evolution.
