Studying then Speedrunning

Astrology, the study of the stars and the life therein. The basic concept is the same as astrology in the Nasuverse. I guess some things don't change. I never went into that branch of magecraft as it required not just talent but the ability to calculate the coordinates of the stars. It was the kind of magecraft that you wouldn't think would yield much offensive power.

However I knew better considering I had knowledge in the existence of Kirschtaria Wodime. The Master who was capable of freakin moving celestial bodies into a magic circuit to rain meteors from the damn sky. The dude was practically the wet dream of every Dnd wizard.

You know what, while I'm at it. I might as well learn pretty much every spell similar or equal to a high level Dnd wizard. Why? Cause it sounds interesting as all hell. But I'll leave that for the future, baby steps first.

"Foul tarnished!" I was broken out of my musings. I turned my head towards the voice. "In search, of the Elden Ring. Emboldened by the flame of ambition..." The large figure which I assumed was Margitt leaped from his position onto the bridge, kicking up the dust. I have to admit that was pretty baddass.

"Someone must extinguish thy flame." He spoke, rising up slowly while I took in his towering figure. "Let it be Margit the Fell..."

"Let's dance." I grinned, trying to hold down my boiling blood. Damn I'm getting excited again.

Zieg's breathing was a bit harsher than usual. His robes torn at some areas as he continued to dodge Margit's relentless assault.

He underestimated how weak his current body was. He blamed his father Jacques for taking away all his time from any semblance of training in this current life.

Normally this wouldn't be as noticeable as he had usually used reinforcement magecraft on his body. However with his current body without reinforcement or aura to help, he finally realized how weak and slow it was.

*WHAM sfx* The blunt wooden cane slammed into him, sending him flying backwards. He gasped as the wind was knocked out of him. He gripped his astrologer staff given to him by his new teacher as he didn't have one. A blast of glintstone burst from the tip at the towering demi-god.

He grunted in pain when his body hit the ground. He realized an issue with trying to be a mage that spammed spells from afar. He didn't have any summons to take aggro or a form of teleportation to get away. He couldn't out run his opponent with his current body without any reinforcement. He noted the way Margitt began to blitz at him, not giving him any room to breathe.

"Fuck it." Zieg grunted, twirling his staff in his hand as he assumed a stance. It was odd, using a staff as if it were a spear.

Margitt halted briefly, bringing up holy energy blade to block the sudden rush. Zieg closed the distance instead of running this time. A carian slicer at the tip of his staff, as if it were the blade of a spear. The demi-god noted the blood-thirsty grin on his opponent's expression before swinging his large cane at him.

"Hah!" Zieg began to laugh maniacally, his body twirled as he ascended into the air around the offending cane. The blood from his wounds flew out into Margit's eyes, blinding him. The staff shrieked in the wind as it came down straight at Margit's head. The carian slicer slipping straight through his skull.

Margit's body disappeared, letting Zieg fall to the ground with his bloodthirsty expression still present on him. "I shall remember thee, tarnished. Smouldering with thy meagre flame..." The words echoed out, carried by the silent winds.

"Shit, I did it again..." Zieg groaned with a facepalm after regaining his faculties.

Within the Roundtable Hold, I was leaning against the wall with my arms crossed. I thought back to my encounter with Margit. The mistakes I made, the strength of my enemy and other things. Perhaps I was too complacent, there wasn't much things that seemed to be an issue for me until I had to fight Margit. In the end I ended up losing myself in battle, I won but that was still a close fight.

This seems to be... a problem. After that fight with Margit, I have realized how underwhelming my current abilities are. I can't just go in swinging a stick around like a maniac, it'll get me killed eventually. I'm trying to do a deathless run here!

"What do you think Ensha?" I asked out loud towards the edgy looking skull armored man. He seemed to be content with continuing to ignore me as he leaned on the wall with his arms crossed. I nodded in agreement as if he said something. "You're right, I'm gonna need to grind a bit!" I declared before teleporting away from the Roundtable.

"Dear lord I'm bored out of my mind." I thought to myself as I continued to spam Great Glintstone Shard at the vulgar militia midget from atop Torrent.

I went to the place near the Beast Clergy and gargoyle to grind on these Vulgar Militia like in game. I forgot how boring and monotonous this was. But they do give an impressive amount of runes per kill, so I can't complain too much.

I thought about something, the fact that I have a limit of magical energy. Both from how much I have within me, along with how much my body is capable of outputting.

Which is kinda bullshit now that I think about it in the grand scheme of things. If you take the rest of the omniverse, there are plenty of places where people just have unlimited energy and are only restricted to how much their body can filter or put out. I should consider figuring out a method of unlimited or atleast nearly unlimited magical energy.

"HEahAHahA!" The little midgets seemed to be surrounding me as I was lost in thought. Unfortunately for them I am capable of.... RUNNING AWAY!

"Run Torrent!" I shouted as my spectral steed ran all the way back to the grace.

ROUGHLY 1 MONTH LATER

It's been about a month and I'm still here surprisingly. Normally playthroughs shouldn't take this long, but after beating Rennala, I sort of just holed myself in her library. She didn't seem to mind me browsing all the books. Dear gods there is so much knowledge and theories within this one room. All ripe for the picking.

I sometimes take my leave back to Master Sellen to discuss my findings and asked her thoughts on things. Her explanations truly were enlightening and her display of knowledge in all the subjects I brought up was impressive.

I've delved pretty far within the study of the stars this past month if I do say so myself. This hunger for knowledge is nearly as great as my desire for a good fight.

The main subject I've been looking into as of late is the Primeval Current. From what I can see, the Primeval Current seems to possibly be a sort of extra-dimensional place, perhaps a void of some sorts? Or even a metaphysical energy outside of time and space itself, linked with the stars. Either way it is connected to and accessed through glintstone. At least that's what I believe.

The Primeval Sorcerers that I can remember, Lusat and Azur. Possibly even my current master Sellen. Were capable of glimpsing into the Primeval Current and experienced a sort of phenomenon that they used as inspiration for their spells. However there is also the possibility that it isn't just an inspiration, but they are borrowing the power of the current itself in order to reenact a facsimile of their visions into the world. There are too many questions unanswered, and I'd need to do some further research myself.

"Pardon me, but don't you think you have been here a bit too long?" Melina snapped me out of my musings. I turned to look at her, she does have a point that I may have been here too long.

"Fair enough, I suppose I'll continue my research after the end of this Journey." I nodded before making my way out.

Enough studying, it's time to get back on track and speed run this a bit.

At the Carian Manor

Zieg blinked at the phantom of Loretta charging up her magical greatbow at him. Carian blades surrounded her in the air, pointed in his direction.

"That is so cool!" He exclaimed as the magical great arrow was let loose at him

"I want that!" The area he was at erupted in a magical explosion

At Radahn's boss arena

"CHARRRGE!" Zieg roared as all his allies began their sprint towards the baddass that was Radahn. Apparently since everyone showed up at the same place, there wasn't any summon signs. It was a festival after all, so it made sense for everyone to just be there to fight.

At Rykard's arena

"I really like this." Zieg grinned maniacally, not in battle lust but in giddy childish excitement as howling winds erupted from the Serpant hunter.

"TOGETHAAAAAA!" he roared before charging at the giant serpant

At Morgott's arena

"I'm here for round 2." Zieg announced, pointing his staff towards the familiar towering man.

"Thy kind are all of a piece... Pillagers emboldened by the flame of ambition!" Morgott crushed the wooden shell of his weapon, revealing a curved blade. "Have it writ upon thy meagre graves. Felled by King Morgott, Last of all Kings."

I finished my little speedrun and killed most of the main bosses within the span of 2 days. Would have been one day but I did some side quests with Ranni along the way. Right now I need to commission a weapon for the resident smith.

So I'm back at the Roundtable hold, I've gathered enough materials and weapons to try this for once. I just got back from killing the fire giant, he was kind of easy for me as I was already used to fighting giant enemies with Scathach's training. I still need to deal with Mohg and Malenia before heading to the final boss, but before that...

"Hewg" I called out to the blacksmith who was still situated at the Roundtable hold. Roderika was still nearby. I actually had her tune my spirit ashes even though I never used them due to the challenge run. I just wanted to see how she did it for future reference considering I'll be a sort of summoner in the future.

"I knew you'd be back, lay out your arms." He grunted as usual. I smirked and dropped a bunch of weapons and materials out in front of him. I wasn't worried about anything breaking with the strength of the materials as they clanked on the ground.

"What's this?" He muttered, looking over the assortment of items on the ground. Smithing stones, a blue gem radiating cold power, a Moonveil, and the broken halves of the Gae Bolg.

"By the time I get back, I need you to turn all of this into a weapon that can slay a god." I grinned as I took out a note with my request written out. This won't be a simple commission, after all one of the materials I gave him were the broken halves of the Gae Bolg.

I don't have the smithing skills necessary for this, Scathach was capable of forging a Gae Bolg for me back then but she never taught me how to forge. However I believe that if there's anyone who can do this, it's Hewg.

I waited in silence as he read out my request and continued looking over the items and materials on the ground. He didn't respond to me with words. Instead he took up his hammer as a flame seemed to light up in his eyes.

"Now then, let's get smithing...." He muttered to himself with a sort of emotion that was hard to describe.
