Cool but usually spirit sense has range right? Is it cause I don't have any energy so it's limited to being extremely close?

"Hey there Miranda" said a smiling man in a lab coat "Back again already?"

"Well you know how it is in my line of work without a competent life mage nearby" A woman in heavy make up wearing a cloak responds.

"Aye, well I assume you want the usual? You know what to do just lay down on the table." The man begins to put on a pair of black gloves with strange circles and runes stitched into them.

"Just make it snappy every minute I spend here is a potential customer gone to a competitor" The woman lays down on the table while snapping back.

The man walks over to the table and places both gloved hands above the woman's womb, the stitching on the gloves begins to glow grey while several glowing grey circles superimpose themselves in the air.

After several minutes the man looks over at the woman and says "Miranda you aren't trying to scam me out of mana right?"

"What? No, why even ask that?" The woman responds looking confused and slightly worried.

"Well all the mana is just being absorbed? It's like you have a mana gathering tool in you?" The man starts to look at Miranda with suspicion.

"Look John all I want is to have the thing killed and expelled so I can continue my work, I'm not trying to scam you into filling a mana artifact!" Miranda says with a slightly worried look upon her face.

"Alright…alright I believe you, I can sense the life and everything just the mana treatment isn't working. I'll poor all I got into and if it doesn't work then come tomorrow and we'll try again alright?" The man, John responds with a confused and also somewhat excited look on his face.

John puts his gloved hands back above Miranda's womb, the circles appear again glowing more intensely this time. After thirty seconds John begins to get pale and sweat starts to drip down his face. A minute later John falls back into a chair, deathly pale and sweating profusely.

"What the fuck? Why is this happening John? Is there something wrong with me?! Do I have a mana leach or am I carrying some kind of demon!! What's wrong." Miranda looking well and truly worried now begins to question hysterically.

"Y-you just come back tomorrow. Either I kill it or I'll pay you enough to cover the amount you'll lose while carrying it." John looking slightly better replies.

"You better John, because nobody except a few very weird nobles want to buy a night with a pregnant woman!" Miranda snaps back with an angry expression.

-Mc POV- (right before this interaction)

It has to be my lack of energy, I've tried everything. I tried sensing my inner energy, nothing to see there. I tried meditating, no result. My abilities must be soft locked till I acquire a form of energy.

But first comes selecting my class. Thinking about the locked elemental affinities, why I encountered death energy, what the percentages mean and all that can wait till later.

So, obviously all the ones that need a body are out, right now I'm just a soul attached to a clump of random cells. Second I don't really want to mess with my race, Voidling Mind-breaker is out cause that sounds like a monster more then anything. And while Soul Phoenix sounds cool I don't really want to be a bird. So I guess that just leaves Soul mage apprentice.

Hmm… usually in these system type worlds 10 in every stat is a normal adult human. So going by that this stat gain is rather good but this is reality not a novel so I could be way off mark.

Keep in mind that even if the host believes the shield to be invincible with all their soul someone with an incredibly superior skill in soul manipulation or someone with 10 times the hosts energy levels could still break it.

Hmm interesting, my priorities should be to create my soul shield then. With my knowledge of fantasy stuff this should be a breeze to make.

Let's see do I just think about it to use it? '[Soul Shield]'

'W-what?' All of a sudden I got transferred into a big white space surrounding a wispy transparent silver ball.

'Oh so the ball is my soul I guess? And I just think to make the shield?'

Yeah I can do that. So, what do I want? I guess let's go a physical shield first. An outer layer made out of a Proto-Adamantium and Dimeritium alloy, an inner hexagonal patterned layer made from a Vibranium and Necrodermis alloy, and finally an inner core layer made from Scrith, Uru and Orichalcum.

The inner core naturally has to be engraved with protection arrays and runes that will be enhanced by the magic metals used in it. Best part about this is I don't have to understand it just know that it works. So naturally I'm going to believe that the runes carved on it create a mix between the defensive array created by the sanctums from the MCU and every sect protection array from all the xianxian novels I've read. This means that it's virtually invincible against energy threats and it will also counter attack using array formations and the 'energy's of heaven and earth' and all sorts of xianxian bullshit.

Moving on from the defensive sphere, time to form some extra defenses, like three custom Death Star shaped battle stations made out of the same alloy mixes as the main sphere using a time trapped supernova as an energy core. Firing celestial bronze and imperial gold coated physical weapons made to kill immortals and ignore energy. While also using powerful energy weapons made harnessing the power of stars as laser beams. And finally all three work together to create a matrix around the main core made out of singularities spliced into laser beams.

Then back to magic I placed a Fidelius Charm over the location of my soul, however with no secret keeper around I had to spilt the secret into 4 parts, 1 on each of the 3 battle stations and the 4th hidden beneath a memetic agent that causes the target to ignore it. They need all four to figure out the location of my soul.

And finally to cap it all off since I'm immune to mental affects might as well put some of those in here. So the whole space buzzes with the same kind of noise as fluorescent lights, this noise will slowly drive listeners insane. Also I did away with the plain white walls of the soul space instead it's now filled with patterns that are all memetic cognito-hazards. There are even some memetic kill agents.

And with that I was done. It was time to get back to my room, I mean womb.
