Departure
Jafar snapped awake when his head hit the hard surface of the table, scattering all his papers and maps around. He jolted up, looking frantically around as though expecting someone to ambush him. It took him a few moments to realize he wasn't in the small alley anymore, but the safety of his library, surrounded by his books and scrolls.
He noted the first hint of sunlight entering through the open window, and the dying candle by his side, just a step away from burning out. Yet again, he slept in the library. Heaving a sigh, he stood up to gather his papers, only for a weight to fall from his shoulders. He looked back to find a blanket crumbled in a messy heap on his chair. Someone must have come in at one point during the night and covered him.
Only one person would come to mind.
Jafar smiled softly at the gesture of his friend. He could have just woken him up so he could sleep in his bed, yet he didn't.
