Next Day...

[Yuna POV]

I checked the directions on my phone and stared at the small building with anxiety. Kame Game, a store that sold Duel Monsters Cards and it was also the shop managed by Yugi's grandfather.

You may be wondering why I would go somewhere like this. Well, wouldn't you? This was the place where it all started and I will be damned if I don't visit here once in my lifetime. Gathering my minuscule amount of courage, I entered with shaky steps.

When I opened the door, the smell of fresh books assaulted my nostrils. I approached the counter where there was an old man with grey hair, wearing a green apron with a dark black cap that covered his messy hair.

The man smiled upon my arrival: "Hello how may I help you?"

I froze and cautiously stared at the man. His full name was Solomon Muto, grandfather of Yugi. I wanted to return the greeting but words won't leave my lips. After minutes of standing idly like a weirdo, I pointed at a card on the glass counter.

"Ah, you're interested in Dueling Monsters?" Grandpa Muto said with a soft smile.

I nodded and he placed the card I pointed on the counter. I gently picked it up and I couldn't describe my excitement. On the picture of the card was a large pot with a smiling face.

Pot of Greed.

A spell card that allows the user to draw two cards. A card that was banned in Yugioh and deemed one of the most powerful cards in the game. That same card right now was in my hand and it wasn't even banned yet.

"H....how much...." I muttered.

"That card?" Grandpa Muto repeated: "That's sixty-five yen."

EHHHH sixty-five yen???? Was it only that cheap????

[A/N: That's around 50 cents]

I stared dumbfounded and shyly held up three fingers. Grandpa Muto smiled and packed the cards in the bag. I then pointed at the other cards and they were apparently just as cheap as Pot of Greed.

Graceful Charity?

Call of the Haunted?

Foolish Burial?

MUHAHAHA they're all mine! I snickered and continuously buy those powerful cards. I raised my head and noticed Grandpa Muto staring at me with a worried expression.

No way, did my face show??

KYAAA ITS SO EMBARRASSING!!!!

"Hmm, are you sure you want those cards? They're cheap because they aren't that good." Grandpa Muto explained.

Um, what...

Did you say that they're not good? Excuse me I think my ears have malfunctioned. He really just said it right?

Sensing my doubting gaze, Grandpa Muto cleared his throat: "Cards that just send other cards in the graveyard for no reason? I don't really know why they made cards like that."

I felt like I'm going to vomit blood. If anyone else in my words hears this they will tell you to switch to a different game because obviously, you don't know how to play Yugioh! But right now, the one that's telling me this was none other than the grandfather of the Duel King, which makes my headache even worse.

"It's... Okay..." I mumbled.

Grandpa Muto smiled: "Well as long as you're happy."

I hugged the bag close to my chest and made my way toward the door with fast steps as that was already enough interaction for today.

BAM

Suddenly, the door to the store was swung open with force. I was knocked to the side as three large men dressed in suits entered. They marched towards the counter and the man in the middle pointed at Grandpa Muto with scrutiny.

"Solomon Muto, you are coming with us!" He stated.

"May I ask what for?" Grandpa Muto responded with a frown.

"Master Kaiba wished you duel you for your treasured card!" They declared.

"Hmph," Grandpa Muto scoffed: "What if I decline?"

"I'm sorry, we must insist, or else we may have to use force." The man warned as the two bodyguards stepped forward and revealed... holy sh*t, was that a gun?!

I watched quietly like a mouse, hoping that they wouldn't notice me if I didn't make a noise. Grandpa Muto wasn't fazed by the weapons and even cursed Kaiba, calling him a naive brat who didn't understand the real purpose of the game.

As I watched this tense scene, I muttered a praise of bravery for Grandpa Muto as he continued to ramble on and on, not afraid that the guards would actually use the guns on him. Eventually, he agreed and followed the three men.

Wait a minute.

I remembered now that they were going to meet Kaiba, right? This was a significant opportunity right before my eyes. Get a hold of yourself, Yuna! You can't let this go!

[3rd POV]

As the four men went through the door, Solomon stopped as he felt someone grabbing his sleeve. He turned and saw the shy girl pinching his clothes tightly...

"Take me.... with you."

Solomon understood what Yuna was saying and shook his head: "No it's dangerous, I obviously couldn't let you get involved."

He tried to shake Yuna off, but she held on: "Can..help,"

Yuna raised her head and stared into Solomon's eyes. Despite the emotionless face, Solomon could see the fierce determination in her eyes that made him want to trust her.

"You don't have to force yourself." He said with a wry smile.

At first, he was surprised by Yuna's unapproachable attitude. Solomon realized that she was really just a timid girl, so he assumed that she must be terrified. Unbeknownst to him, what Yuna was actually thinking was how much profit she could gain right now.

"W..want help." She said with resolve, and Solomon eventually agreed...
