Nah I'd Win - 26

***

With an awe-inspiring presence, the Winged Dragon Of Ra unleashed destruction upon the Sacred Beasts, each attack embodying the essence of divine wrath.

The colossal Egyptian God's claws ripped through the Sacred Beasts like paper, obliterating them one by one.

The Sacred Beasts, destroyed in battle, dropped Kagemaru's life to 0, effectively ending the duel. Yet, the ethereal projection of the Winged Dragon of Ra did not fade.

But the Winged Dragon of Ra was not finished, and he attacked Kagemaru directly, inflicting pain unlike anything he had ever experienced.

Not content with the damage it had inflicted, the Egyptian God proceeded to succ the energy responsible for replenishing Kagemaru's youth, reversing the process and restoring him to his elderly form.

The once-rejuvenated Kagemaru found himself drained and defeated in the face of the Winged Dragon of Ra's unrelenting power.

Kagemaru roared in pain and agony, letting out a resounding "NOOOO!" in shock at his defeat.

Witnessing the process of Kagemaru reverting to an old man while semi-naked is corrupting my eyes, prompting me to turn and face the others.

~

"DAMN!" echoed from the spectators in awe who were watching the duel, witnessing the transformation from Kagemaru in his prime back to an elderly state.

"He wasn't kidding when he said he had a way to deal with those Sacred Beasts. But one-sidedly?" Someone else spoke their thoughts.

Chatter ~

The Winged Dragon of Ra puffed up a little before disappearing and executing a strange dab after that last attack.

Getting a dub (victory) puts a smile on my face.

Now that brings in another question. Did I just save the world? I still remember the option to hop to another world upon doing so. I've been on this island for nearly 8-9 months.

It feels stiff to be trapped in a universe centered on card games on an island.

I never once forgot what had led up to this. I immediately used a modified kind of telekinesis to grab three Sacred Beasts cards from Kagemaru's deck.

As I stared at the Sacred Beasts cards, I seriously questioned whether I should actually destroy such cards. I know for a fact these are going to get used sometime again later. It is such a goddamn trope.

The repercussions of destroying these cards would undoubtedly create a butterfly effect, believing that new individuals with a high drive or motivation would emerge capable of replicating and even perfecting the Sacred Beasts cards.

Don't even get me started with people that are capable of producing cards with magic or plot devices; they undoubtedly exist in this world.

There is also that stone tablet depicting the Sacred Beasts, the idea of destroying those also crossed my mind. However, even I was strongly advised against it.

In that case, it's better to leave half-assed cards alone. Potentially shifting most of the attention from the stone tablets to the existing Sacred Beasts Cards. Since not everyone knows that the Sacred Beasts cards are incomplete.

Truth to be told, I still want to kill Kagemaru, but doing so will leave a bad taste in my mouth after being pestered not to by Dark Magician Girl.

Sighing, I threw the Sacred Beasts cards back into the mechanical pillar that had originally contained the cards, watching it as they dropped back to their resting place.

After settling what seemed to be everything, I turned to walk back to the people who were still watching, leaving Kagemaru alone in despair laughing at himself.

The atmosphere within the group was a mix of relief and stress when I returned to the onlookers where they were watching my duel.

Rejoining the group, Zane's usual stoic demeanor cracked a subtle smile, very entertained by Gojo's duel.

"What are you guys all still doing here? Duel's over. It's freaking late now," I responded, my gaze shifting to the surrounding crowd.

Jaden, always brimming with energy, slapped me on the back. "Dude, that was insane! You really know how to put on a show!"

Zane responded, "Some outsiders wanted to witness it for themselves." He gave a glance at an unknown number of students a bit from afar taking a look at the duel.

After all, a genuine Egyptian God card made an appearance that shook the entire island.

Alexis chimed in with a grin, "Yeah, Gojo, you really know how to put on a show."

"Well, I'm glad that is all settled neatly. As expected of someone from the Obelisk rank." Crowler said, his hands clapped together, gathering the attention from everyone.

After coughing a bit, he added, "Aside from Gojo, I hope all of you guys remember that there is still class tomorrow, and then there is that promotion exam in 2 weeks."

Chancellor Sheppard also chimed in. "Indeed, students, don't let the excitement of the duel distract you from your academic responsibility. Success in both aspects is crucial."

The reminder of upcoming exams brought a collective groan from the entire crowd. It seemed the excitement of the duel had momentarily been overshadowed with academic responsibilities.

I could already hear Jaden groaning the loudest. I knew for a fact he didn't study.

As the night progressed, the group dispersed, each heading their separate ways.

The remaining adults gathered had attended to Kagemaru, arranging for a helicopter to retrieve him and provide the necessary emergency care. His condition was critical, literally on the edge of life and death. Well, it's not my problem anymore.

As we were heading back, I found myself walking alongside Alexis and Zane.

"Quite the spectacle you put on," she remarked.

"Well, I wasn't allowed to lose." I replied bluntly.

Alexis grinned, "True." She put her arms back and leaned forward. "Let's see how the people react to this tomorrow."

'I don't think I'll be able to see tomorrow...' I reflected internally.

Alexis and I were making small talk here and there, while carefully avoiding any mention of Ea.

As we strolled, Zane, deeply immersed in thoughts about the duel, couldn't help but turn to me with a question, "Gojo, if you were to face off against the King of Games, Yugi Muto, do you think you would lose?".

I can probably guess why Zane asked that question. After witnessing the one-sided beatdown against Kagemaru with his supposed three Sacred Beasts, it's only natural to believe that only the best could stand a chance against me.

"Nah, I'd Win."

I don't think I would lose to Yugi Muto. I mean no disrespect to him, but I can certainly counterplay almost all of his cards. I just have to be extremely cautious of cards that I am not aware of.

The "heart of the cards" is impressive; However, Yugi's deck is limited to the cards he personally added. On the other hand, I have the flexibility to access almost any card within my deck. In layman's terms, it's like an outdated cheat going against a more modernized cheat.

Well, if it were the Pharaoh Atem, on the other hand… Nah, I'd still win. (I bet the afterlife Atem can create cards out of thin air to create a situation favoring him.)

"Really? I doubt you could beat Yugi." Alexis said, her eyes rolling. "But I do believe you can end up with a draw."

"And? Why do you think that?" I responded.

"He is the king of games! The GOAT!" Alexis exclaimed passionately, her eyes sparkling with respect for Yugi Muto and his legendary status in this world of dueling.

"Debatable." I rolled my eyes at her answer.

Eventually, we had to part ways as a path divergence led to the separate gender dormitories in Obelisk.

As for the reason why I'm not teleporting back into my own room. The truth is, I'm intentionally making small talk with my 'friends'. Nah fuck that, I am just delaying the inevitable.

Upon realizing there was no one left but Alexis and Zane around, Dark Magician Girl emerged after feeling better. She'd wrapped her arms around my neck and rested her chest on top of my head as she floated above and behind me. She was exceedingly clingy right now, and her feeling could be described as pure happiness. It seemed she wanted us to continue where we left off and she is very passionate right now.

And well you know the rest after entering their rooms.
