I touched Quinn’s shoulder and gestured toward the door that led to the lobby, letting him know I’d be there. He nodded, probably thinking I needed to visit the restroom. Instead, I found his uncles and approached them.

“Do you have a moment?”

“What did you need, Mark?” The oldest uncle observed me impassively.

“Can we talk outside?”
