Airport Goodbyes

Today is the day I'm losing two really amazing friends. Claire and Ray. I sigh. As we head to the airport, Chris tells dad and Mandy about his feelings for Sky. Dad approved. Mandy...on the other hand...

"About time,you idiot." She chuckles. We all start chuckling as Chris turns red.

"Well, what should I do? He's moving away...today." He sighs. Mandy grows silent then she taps my shoulder. I turn and look at her.

"We should help him. You can obvisouly tell he really likes Sky." I look at Chris as tears go down his face.

"Chris, bud." I grab his hand and he looks at me. "You should tell him. If...if he doesn't return the feelings, there are other fish I'm the sea." Dad coughs.

"Evelyn...you have no room to talk." They all laugh as I feel offended.

"What is that supposed to mean?!" I snap back, offend. Dad puts a Han on my head and chuckles.

"You still like Marcus." I glare at him." Ahem. I meant like...as a...a...uh...a friend! You don't even realize how Dante looks at you." I give him a questioning look.

"Dante has a girlfriend." Dad groans.

"Mandy, please explain to your dumb sister what I mean." He laughs and I mock him.

"Eve, dad means Dante likes you. He liked you from god knows when. Its pretty obvious." Dante likes me? But...I don't. I sit in silence for a while until something hits me.

"DANTE LIKES ME?!" I don't even know why, but that made my heart flutter a little. 

They all laugh at my sudden outburst and I join in. When we finally arrive, I'm the first out of the car.

"Ray!" He turns around and held his arms out wide. There is a smile on his face as I run towards him. I hug him for what felt like forever and let go and hug Claire.

"Eve! Its so nice to see you." She smiles softly. I hug everyone else as Sky and Chris look at each other. Mandy smiles.

Chris starts shaking. "Chris? Are you okay?" Sky asks, concerned. Chris nods his head furiously and his face turns bright red. Mrs.Helinzer quickly catches on and whispers to the rest of us.

"Does Chris like Sky?" Me and Mandy steal a glance and nod. Mr and Mrs.Helinzer sigh. "Oh thank god."

"Why?" Mandy asks curiously. Mrs.Helinzer sighs.

"Sky also likes Chris, and on the car ride here, he was nervous. He wants to tell Chris, but...well...he's afraid he'll get rejected." Mr.Helinzer said. I nod and snicker.

"Chris was sorta like that last night, actually." They glance at me with wide eyes. Er...well...behind me. I follow their eyes and see Sky and Chris kissing.

"ABOUT FRICKEN TIME YA TWO!" Dad bellows. We start laughing as people stare. Chris and Ray pull away, blushing furiously. I pat him on the back.

"See? You had nothing to worry about." I say sincerely. Chris nods. Him and Sky walk away and talk to each other. Me and Mandy steal Ray and Claire.

"I'm seriously going to miss you two." Mandy says. She got a lot closer to Claire during the beginning of school.

"You stole the words right of my mouth."

"Flight 230 B is about to take off. Last chance." The speakers yell. The Helinzers and Claire hug us one last time.

"Goodbye, Harpers." We all nod and start crying.

That was the last Tim I'll see my best friends.
