The Void

Yone and Hori appeared inside a small but that seems to be abandoned as it was falling apart when Hori asks, "Where are we?"

"An old hideout I created while I was wandering the world steeling myself as I worked as a mercenary. Back then we had missions but nobody wanted to team up with me except for your godfather," says Yone as he walks towards the entrance.

He passes it and finds himself in a forest, Hori follows him when he asks, "You worked as a mercenary because nobody except for Uncle Sakumo?"

"Yes, I was an outsider and your Aunt Tsunade had her own team while your Uncle Nawaki was still too young back then. Sakumo was my team captain since he could deal with normal missions easily even while protecting a Genin," says Yone as they reached an edge and they could see Kumogakure before them

The village was naturally protected by the mountains surrounding the village. It was the first time for Hori to see the village while Yone saw it before when he was younger but like Konoha, it has changed a lot over the years.

"It is quite beautiful in its own right," says Yone to Hori before he takes the contacts out.

"We will be arriving there tonight which will be perfect for us," says Yone as he looked at a cliff that had a building under it and he says, "There is the Raikage Office. I was once there to receive payment for a small job hunting a rogue shinobi."

"How are we going to enter the village? We can't just walk into it as we do in Konoha," says Hori asking his father about what he had planned to enter the village.

"Have you ever been invisible to everyone?" asks Yone his son confusing him.

"It is quite easy, I tell you that," says Yone seeing Hori's expression before he disappears in front of Hori.

Hori activated his Sharingan and looked around searching for his father when Yone appears beside him surprising Hori before Yone says, "You need to learn how to let go of your presence."

"How did you do that?" asks Hori curiously since Yone never taught them how to do that.

"You need to reverse your Conqueror's Haki," says Yone seriously to Hori who looked at him confused.

"It is dangerous because you could lose yourself in and live a life as if you never existed in this world since everyone and everything will ignore you completely. They won't even hear you talk even if you are shouting at them. That's why I have never taught you guys how to use it. The risks were just too high," says Yone explaining to his son why he never taught them on how to reverse Conqueror's Haki.

"We will be entering the town like this but...," says Yone as he takes a scroll that is strapped to his jacket and opens it before releasing two clocks from it.

He then gives one to Hori before he rolls the stroll back together and puts it back where it was while saying, "...we will need cover once we are inside of the village. You and your siblings made quite a name for yourself in the last war making it obvious that they know your face."

"What about your face?" asks Hori as Yone looks at his son putting the cloak on he used to wear.

"I have been forgotten by history, the only person outside the village that might know how I look like is the current Tsuchikage since I killed his grandfather and presented his head before your mother," says Yone in a hurtful tone since it was opening old wounds inside of him.

"Anyway, we should move or we won't be able to finish this by today," says Yone as he put his cloak on and they begin to walk towards Kumogakure.

They arrived near the city when Hori noticed that the world around him changed all of a sudden. It turned white with black outlines. He turned to his father and he was the only normal thing in this whole world.

"See not everyone is meant to snoop around on this side of the realm. It can make you go crazy," says Yone to his son who notices that Yone put his hand on Hori's shoulder.

"Why did your teacher even teach you this form of using Haki?" asks Hori as Yone shakes his head.

"He never taught it to me. I learned it by accident," says Yone remembering it with a smile on his face.

"It was an experiment of mine, and when it finally happened I was wandering around this realm aimlessly. My teacher was out of himself when he realized what I have done since his previous students never achieved what I had done. He needed to ask his second student to find me with his special eyes before he could pull me out," says Yone laughing about the incident since it was the first time he met someone that could see through nothing and still find him.

"He later told me about the dangers of this realm," says Yone as they passed the gate to Kumogakure when suddenly a being began to form before their eyes.

"It seems they have found us already," says Yone as he uses one hand to make hand seals before taking a deep breath in.

"Fire Release: The Dragon's Blue Fire Breathe!" shouts Yone while his index finger and thumb made a circle before placing it before his mouth.

Blue Flames leave Yone's mouth burning the being before it completely manifested in the realm when Yone dragged his son further into the city while saying, "They must have found us because I entered this realm before when I show you how we were going to enter."

"What are those things?" asks Hori curious before he saw one of the beings manifest completely.

He was frozen in place since the being looking at him looked like the person he saw on a portrayal that Yone has hanging in the living room, his bedroom, and his office.

"Mother?" asks Hori when Yone hits his son trying to make him move since they couldn't manifest near the gate on an open street.

"Move that isn't my wife," says Yone angry that the being took the form of his deceased wife.

Yone spread Darkness around them to distract the being while Yone dragged Hori into an alley. Once deep inside the alley, Yone retracts his darkness to return with Hori to the normal world.

Hori falls to the ground in disbelief before he looks at Yone and asks, "What was that?"

"A being that shapes into dead persons trying to lure its victim into its arms before devouring them. My teacher called them, Voidwalker. They take the shape of one of your precious persons to lure you into their arms that is why you saw your mother," says Yone explaining to Hori why he saw his mother even if he doesn't have memories of his mother.

"But why are you talking about them as if they are one entity?" asks Hori confused since he saw many trying to manifest.

"Because they are all connected like a Hive Mind with each other. The whole realm is the being that was chasing us since we are like an infection to it. Nobody is supposed to enter that realm that's why IT is hostile towards beings that shouldn't be there," says Yone warning his son about one of the real dangers of the realm they were in.

It was night and to their luck, the alley was quite dark and desolate making it perfect for them to appear without getting noticed by anyone. They walked out of the alley after Hori was back to normal again.

"So you can't stay for an infinite time in that realm?" asks Hori as they walked on the open street wearing their cloaks.

"I can and so can everyone else. The thing is that the Void will try to get rid of you either by killing and consuming you or forcing you to get out. But if you are strong enough you can fight its defensive system as you have seen me do just a moment ago," says Yone as they were walking towards the Raikage office.

"I don't think we will be able to enter without being noticed," says Hori looking at the building from a distance.

"That's why we will use Conqueror's Haki," says Yone confusing Hori.

"You want to put the whole village to sleep why not use it before then?" asks Hori as Yone shakes his head.

"You need to learn so much more when it comes to Haki it seems. But I can't fault you nor your siblings since I only taught you the basics. I thought that you all would learn for yourself afterward," says Yone a bit disappointed with his children since they never self-studied Haki learning new ways of using it.

"Now learn," says Yone as they stood before the building and a cliff.

He used his Conqueror's Haki and gives the guards orders to let them pass. The guards complied with that and let the father-son duo enter the building.

It looked natural from the outside but an insider would know what was going on. The duo continues going further inside and Hori noticed why Yone didn't use a Genjutsu against the enemy as any other ninja would do.

"We aren't using Genjutsu because it could be trailed back to Konoha," says Hori as Yone nods.

"No, it is to intimidate the Raikage telling him that I can get to him even without using a jutsu," says Yone coldly making Hori understand before Yone continues in a cold tone, "Using jutsus is fine and all. But if an individual manages to break through every one of your defenses without using even a single jutsu on his way. That can make even the strongest ninja nervous since the individual could repeat said deed again and again."
