YOKED TO A BILLIONAIRE BY VENNEH LISAH

Before she could make the call, however, Franklin called.

Amira promptly answered it and put him on speaker. "Hey, Franklin."

"We've removed the headlines and I'm contacting the other media companies. The news is spreading terribly, and my dad's furious about it. The company is holding a board meeting and they want to remove me as the president." Franklin reported.

"Huh? Why? Why are they removing you from your position..." Amira stuttered.

"Listen to me," Franklin interrupted. Tamping down his agitation, he continued, "No one is benefitting from this. If the Stanleys go down, the Smiths won't be living the high life, either. I'm trying my best to clean up this mess right now, so please stop making things worse for me. Talk to your dear daughter and stop exposing Violla's private matters. While she's trying to hurt Violla, she's also hurting me."

"I know. I understand. Franklin listen to my explanation." Amira pleaded.

"Let's stop now. I'm begging you. I won't mention divorce for now, so please stop making things worse than they already are. Don't create more trouble for Violla, either. Just…stop." At that, Franklin ended the call.

With a deep frown, Amira raised her head to glare daggers at Violla. "It's all your fault, b*tch!"

Violla did not even know what to say to that.

"You heard him." Amira tugged Violla closer and snarled, "The Stanleys are already doing their best to remove the news. Hurry up and register with him right now to put an end to this matter. Otherwise, we'll still tell the world about those three b*stards. The Stanleys had to deal with this because Franklin was involved. However, those little b*stards aren't Franklin's, so…"

"I understand." Violla knew well that if she did not do as told, Amira and Leila would definitely go public with her children. No matter how Franklin warned them, they would try their very best to get rid of her in the midst of this mess.

After all, this was their best opportunity.

"Hurry up and get back inside!" Amira shoved Violla back into the building.

Meanwhile, Kevin was still waiting at the same spot. When he saw Violla returning, a smile grew on his face.

Obediently, Violla sat on the chair and handed the staff her documents again.

"Have you thought it through?" the middle-aged staff member asked.

"Yes," Violla mumbled as she nodded.

Without saying anything else, the staff began the registration process. It was a simple one. All the two needed to do was to take a photo and sign the papers.

Just as the staff was about to stamp the papers, a group of men in black suddenly barged into the building and blocked the exits.

A towering figure walked in from the outside. As the sun shone on his back, his shadow loomed, giving him an aloof and domineering presence.

"Wow, he's handsome!" When the registration staff saw the handsome man entering the building, she stared at him in admiration of his beauty. Her hand holding the stamp continued to hover over the papers, she had clearly forgotten about Kevin and Violla.

'Why is he here?' Amira flew into a panic. However, she was quick to come to her senses as she hastily urged the staff, "Hurry up and stamp it!"

A card flew toward them, stirring a few strands of Violla's hair into motion as it swished past her and then cutting across the back of Amira's hand, making it bleed.

The card landed on the table right in front of the staff, planting itself between her stamp and the marriage document. As a result, the stamp was made on the card instead.

All this while, Violla had been hanging her head in despair; she did not even know someone had arrived behind her.

Amira shrieked and retracted her hand as the staff jumped to her feet in shock. The stamp fell onto the table and rolled into Violla's hands. It was only then that she came back to her senses and turned to look behind her instinctively.

At the sight of him, she stiffened.'Why is he here?'

A large hand firmly descended on Violla's shoulders as a pair of cold eyes stared at Amira. A deep voice sent chills running down everyone's spine as he spoke, "You're a daring one to lay your hands on my woman so many times. Seems like you really have a death wish."

"Mr. Roman, you've misunderstood....Ah!". Before Amira could finish her sentence, Davon's subordinates had already yanked her away.

She tried to cry for help but the men were swift to cover her mouth.

All the registration staff, including the young couples registering for their marriage at the side, were stunned.

"Don't worry. We'd never do anything illegal," Cruze explained with a faint smile, "We'll settle this outside and shall not disrupt you all now."

As he spoke, he made a gesture.Instantly, the bodyguards took Amira, Kevin, and the two bodyguards of the Smiths away.

"Hello." Davon rapped on the table, bringing the registration staff back to her senses.

"H-Hello!" The lady finally snapped back into reality and asked in a shaky voice, "What… can I do for you?"

"Please get rid of all the documents from her registration earlier, including the photo she took, the paper copy, as well as the soft copy. Thank you," Davon politely said to her.

At the same time, his subordinates were already standing at the side, giving her their solemn gazes as they waited for her to do as told.

"Yes, yes. I'm on it." The staff then promptly got to work.

After everything was done, Davon finally turned his attention to Violla.Gently, he pulled her up and made her sit on the office desk.

His tall figure loomed over her like a mighty beast. He placed one hand beside her and another under her chin, lifting it up , forcing her to look into his eyes.

Violla could see the wrathful fire in his eyes, they were about to burn her to crisps.

Frightened by his gaze, Violla quickly lowered her head and was afraid to look at him. Both of her hands were twisting the sleeves of her shirt as her eyes darted around. For a moment, her mind was blank. 'What do I do? What do I do? How do I explain this to him? Did he find out about the children? Will he strangle me here and now? Will he take the children away?' her mind was in shambles.

"Speak," Davon bellowed.

A shudder wracked Violla's frame before she raised her head and timidly looked at him. Squeezing out a tense smile, she muttered, "Mr. Roman, w-why are you back?"

"Did you not want me to come back?" Davon's eyes narrowed into slits as if he was a predator about to pounce on his prey.

"No. I....I…" Violla was shaking like a leaf in the wind; she could not even form a sentence.

Davon's fury only spiked when he saw her timid demeanor. He tugged at her ponytail and dragged her out of the building.

Violla stumbled the entire way out; there were even a few times when she nearly fell.

Around them, onlookers were quick to move aside, fearing that she would knock into them.

After all, a devil-like man was right beside her!

The murderous aura he exuded was one that terrified everyone.

"Let go of me, Davon. It hurts. It hurts!" Violla tried to free her hand from his grasp but to no avail.

Only when Davon unceremoniously shoved her into the car did she break free from him. Her hand ached and she yelled, "What are you doing?"

"Very well," Davon sneered, "You can shout at me, but you act like a wimp in front of others."

At that, Violla pursed her lips and drooped her head in shame.

She was the only one in the world who dared to speak to Davon in that way.

Yet, as much as she was stubborn and ruthless in front of him, she let others treat her horribly.

This was a fact—a shameful reality.

"Tell me." Davon gripped Violla's face as he interrogated her, "How are they blackmailing you?"

At that very second, Violla panicked. She could not let Davon know about her children. But at that moment, could she still keep it a secret?

It had been over ten minutes since she saw the news, so she did not know how much of her privacy had been revealed to the public.

Even if news of her children was yet to be on the internet, it would soon be.

Now that Davon's subordinates had taken away Amira and her husband, he was sure to interrogate them soon. To protect themselves, Violla was certain that they would tell him about this secret of hers.

"Are you thinking of how you'll lie to me? Hmm?" Davon continued to grab Violla's cheek as he leaned into her personal space. "Do you think I'm easy to fool?"

"No." Violla shook her head vehemently. "I've never thought of lying to you. I'm serious."

If Violla were not to submit to him at that moment, she would be doomed for a terrible death.

If she could yield to the shamelessly disgusting Amira and Leila, why could she not give in to Davon?

It was not humiliating to lower herself in the face of her savior.

"You have five minutes." By now, Davon was running thin on patience for her. "Be honest and tell me everything."

"Firstly, the woman in the video really isn't me," Violla quickly explained, "I swear on my own life. I didn't do it in the car with Franklin."

Davon fell silent. All he did was continue narrowing his eyes at her.

"I'm telling you the truth. Trust me!" Anxiety overwhelming her, Violla grabbed his hand before continuing, "I really didn't do anything inappropriate with Franklin. He's already married. How could I possibly sleep with him?"

"If he was not married, you'll do it?" Davon raised a brow at her. "Hmm?"

"No!" Violla shook her head frantically again. "What I mean is that I didn't....."

"Your thoughts are messed up. You won't be able to clarify things even if I were to give you an hour," Davon interrupted, "So I'm going to ask you questions and you'll answer them."

"Okay." Violla weakly nodded.

"Did you meet Franklin last night?" Davon stared at her with a glacial look.

"Yes," Violla replied truthfully before she quickly added, "I did go to that restaurant for a meal, but I went with my friend. I encountered Franklin at the restaurant, and he was with…"

At that, Violla stopped, hesitating whether or not she should reveal Barbra's appearance last night.

However, Davon filled in the gap for her. "He was with Barbra."

"How did you know that?" Violla abruptly widened her eyes.

"The woman having car sex with him is Barbra," Davon added.

"How did you know about that?" By now, Violla's eyes were comparable to saucers. 'How come he knows everything?"

"Do you think everyone's as stupid as you ?" Davon smacked his lips.

"I admit that I'm not that smart, but can you tell me how you came to know about that?" Violla tugged at his sleeve. "I'm honestly curious."

In the beginning, Davon had not wanted to delve into details about such lowly and boring things, but he gave in when he saw Violla being so keen.

"First and foremost, I've seen your body, and it's much nicer than that woman in the video. Moreover, you're so inexperienced and dumb; how could you possibly be the one on top?" Davon teased.

"You...." Upon hearing his blunt reply, Violla's face and ears turned bright red. Words fled her mind.

"Secondly, anyone with a clear mind would search the source of those intimate photos and video when they see the news. They'd find out which media company first reported on it and would investigate how the company acquired the information in order to identify the woman in the video."

After a pause, he scoffed in disdain. "It's such a lowly trick that even a random bodyguard of mine could handle well."

"Oh!" Violla nodded in realization. "This isn't how the bossy CEO in romance novels would do it. He would get angry right after the news and question the girl. After that, he would punish and torment her."

"Have you lost your mind?" Davon blurted out. "Those who can manage a successful organization aren't idiots. Who would make such a rookie mistake? "

"Oh," Violla breathed. Carefully, she asked, "About the man from East Nation… Did you investigate him, too?"

"Do I even need to investigate him,all the videos and photographs are fabricated any one smart enough can tell?" Davon huffed. "The Smiths women must have thought that you were the one in that video on the news, so they started threatening you with the old escort incident again."

"Since you know everything, why are you asking me to explain to you?" Violla queried.

'He's so smart. Nothing goes unnoticed before his eyes.' Violla was now afraid that she would not be able to keep her children a secret for long.

"It's no longer a secret that you hired an escort." Davon gave her a scornful look. "Moreover, given that incident had made it onto the news, why are you still threatened by the mother and daughter? You must have other secrets."

At that, Violla's heart skipped a beat. 'Just as I thought!'

"Look at your shifty eyes. You must be thinking of ways to fool me again, right?" Davon sneered. "I'm not going to bother pressurizing you into spilling it. I'll ask those who know about this instead."

"No..." Violla started.

"Mr. Roman !" Right then, Cruze's voice came from the outside.

"Speak," Davon ordered.

"I've done what you've asked." Cruze then slowly reported to Davon.

"I've made arrangements for those people, and all that's left is your interrogation. We've also removed all the news; Miss Milan's information can no longer be found on the internet or other broadcasting channels. The incident is now over. I've contacted all media outlets. From now on, they have agreed not to act on any tipoffs they receive about Miss Milan no matter who gives them the information. Also, the Stanleys' project has been stopped."

Once Cruze was done with his report, all was silent.

Staring at Violla, Davon ordered Cruze, "Bring the Smiths to the secret room. I will ask them myself."

"Yes, Sir." The car then slowly drove off.

When Violla took out her phone to check the news, she realized Cruze's words were true. All her information was gone from the internet.

Even the trending headlines had been replaced by scandals of other celebrities. When she searched her name and some keywords relating to the news, no results came up.

Finally, she heaved a sigh of relief.

Now that she had the time to mull over Davon's words, she tensed up again. "Mr. Roman, since it's now resolved, there's no need for you to interrogate them, is there? Also, this has nothing to do with Mr. Stanley, so why did you stop his project again?"

"What's wrong?" Davon furrowed his brows, displeased. "You still bear feelings for your old flame?"

"No." Violla refused.

"It's best that you keep quiet." Davon gripped her chin and warned, "If you beg for him now, he'll die an even more terrible death."

Hearing that, Violla kept her lips sealed, not daring to utter another word. Through his eyes she could see an intent to kill, and based on her past experience, she knew what was coming up.

The more Franklin yearned for her, the more the Smiths would target her.

Similarly, the more she pitied Franklin and pleaded for him, the worse Davon would treat him.

Hence, it was best for her not to mention a word about Franklin from then on.

However, what Violla was worried about was whether or not Davon would find out about her children through his interrogation of Amira.

Right then, her phone rang. It was from Leila. Violla peeked at Davon before she declined the call.

Soon, Leila sent a message: Violla, tell Mr. Roman to let my parents go right away, or else I'll tell the world about your foul matters.

Staring at the words, Violla's heart began thumping. Although the media companies dared not report anything else about her after Davon's threats, Leila could still expose her by herself.

After all, these were modern times and no one had absolute control over anyone else on the internet.
