I come from a long line of female basketball, players both of my mothers are dominant forces in the women's street ball futuristic professional women's nba known as ( WSFPWN).
So I always had an basketball, in my hand since I could remember.
But also I had this disease, for as long as I could
remember too.
Marking back from birth, even though both of my parents are healthy.
Being that I had this disease, they worried it would affect me playing basketball and they were right.
But the doctor told them, I could still play but I would be limited.
With that my parents, drilled in all the aspects and what it took to play the game being that I had this disease known as hicka cell.
They just wanted me to continue on the family's prestigious heritage and to keep up the family prestige.
So they put me in the top schools, from elementary.
And made sure at home I had the best of the best private coaches and equipment.
When they saw that my skills were of a prodigy, it only made them more determined to make sure I could play.
But did not realize how much this sickness would hamper me or limit me.
But it made it to the point where, I only played one half or missed the entire game which made my parents hope diminish.
Especially in middle school and it gets worse every year.
To where my parents were just happy, I was playing and I was continuing our family heritage but what made it all bearable was my childhood, friend Lucy without her.
I don't know if I could, have continued until one day it all came crashing down.
My name is Yang age 16, and this is how I started the journey to keep who I love by my side and continue to play the sport I love with the strongest system.
It's the year 2065, the world has made major breaks through in technology where we can live up til 300 and where able to enhance our genes with a medicine called techno enhance.
It comes in 2 categories, one is for your normal every day life as the other is for competitive sports we also almost have a cure for every disease but one.
It's Hicks cell it's a disease, that causes your blood cells to not form like every one else and causes you to have pain.
It makes your blood cells, to form like the crescent moon.
It can lead to blood clots, causing pain throughout your entire body it makes your blood count fluctuate causing you to have to get blood infusions and take medicine for pain.
Being that it's an inherited disease, it's hard to make a cure for it even with the techno enhance medicine.
But thanks to it ,I hear that the techno enhancement has helped improve the people with it compared to the earlier years.
The techno enhance helps, to lower the chances of you going in to crisis and help you not rely on the medicine as much.
My family has the competitive, techno enhance so each generation physical traits are higher compared to the people.
That has the every day, techno enhance then again the competitive techno enhance is way out of the price range for an average family.
Begin that I come from, a family of female basketball stars.
My family is relatively well off, plus beginning that the medicine named repo.
That allows a person, to have the opposite gender reproduction system.
My family has managed, to keep it heritage and prestige.
We started out like any other, family until the break through of the medical medicine came to.
Leading to why I have two moms, that I love and care for deeply with all my heart as they love me the same.
As I'm on my way to practice, at school i hear my name called from behind me.
By a familiar voice hey Yang, I smile as I turn around and say hey Lucy.
How was your weekend, as she runs up to me and we hug.
Leaving each other embrace, Lucy says it was great at my grandparents house and I almost sleep past my alarm today.
Knowing that you would, leave at 6:30am to get to practice early like usual.
So I have to wake up, at 5:00 to make sure I have enough time to do everything so I don't be late.
I say you know we can make, an meet up time so you don't have to go through that.
Lucy it fine you know me, I'm not an morning person so I need the extra time.
I say true as we arrived at the school, as we make our way to the front doors.
(30 minutes later)
As I'm helping Lucy stretch she ask, < hey Yang you have taken your medicine for the day right so you can practice>.
I say yea I did, and I feel good today so I should have an good day at practice.
Smiling I turn my head, and say that means we get to play together right Yang.
I smile back and say yea, but you know the coach I don't if she let me practice the whole time or just half like usual.
Lucy don't say that you said it yourself, you feel good and feel that you can have a good practice you know the coach takes your word when it comes to practice.
True she does I replied, but when it comes to actual games that different I say.
Lucy speaking of games when is our next scrims match again?
I say tomorrow at 5pm, it should be here this time so we get to have each time to prepare.
After finishing our stretches, I ask Yang will you be playing the full scrim match tomorrow.
I smile and give the thumbs up, and say so make sure your in your best condition for the scrim.
I jump hug Yang, and say this is the best start to the school week I could ever ask for.
Hugging her back and smiling, I nod my head saying yea it's rare we get to be on the court together for an full game, but really I'm only playing the full scrim because it's half what the time is for an official game begin scrim are 8 minutes each quarter and official games are 16 minutes.
