End of Day 2

*** Logging you out now***

The world faded and the lights came back on. My view adjusted back to my room. I walked over to the hand scanner so my room would unlock and used it. As I grabbed my stuff I saw a shadow in the doorway. Looking up I saw Damien standing there with a smirk on his face.

"Well now the victor is in front of me. Let me bow to your might. It is too bad you cant beat me out here in the real world. Without your blood mage power, you would not of won." Damien said to me.

"Wishful thinking, I could take you if you want to try me. Lets get out of here, I have a few extra minutes, I could waste it showing you that I am superior to you." I said right back.

Damien nodded and got a serious look on his face as he glanced in my room before the door shut all the way. I ignored it and slightly pushed him out of the way as I walked down the hall. Damien jogged to catch up to me.

"Onyx, can I ask you to do something." Damien asked in a flat tone dead serious.

"What, just ask it already. I said curious.

This man rarely ran unless its a race or to show off. He always acted like he had no worries in the world. So to have him catch up to me instead of telling me to wait told me whatever he wanted to ask was pretty important.

"I will once we are outside." Damien replied.

I groaned and picked up my pace. Shockingly he sped up too to match my pace as well. When we walked out of the building he grabbed my hand and started to pull me over to a near by alley way. I blushed with the fact that he held my hand. God I was too girly and innocent and I needed to grow up.

"Hey, relax Onyx, I just wanted to pull you over out of camera range. When you get home will you check yourself out. Take a long bath, no makeup, nothing on and look yourself over carefully. Look for any needle marks or unusual marks anywhere on your skin. Ask you mom to help you check out your back. Make up some excuse or something. This is really important. If you remember the other day when you thought I was going to be hurt in real life. I ended up finding a small mark on my skin that couldn't be explained. Today when I went in, a panel with a small machine behind it wasn't in my room. I saw it today in your room before the door shut. It was not in your room last time I saw in your room. I also heard a rumor that a few people who started to play the game went crazy and they disappeared from the forums. The last post I read by one of them was that they are stealing our blood and DNA. To beware those that were granted power in the game. They are coming for us. I checked out the forum while I waited for you to log out and the post was deleted and the user no longer exists." Damien said completely serious. "At first I thought it was nothing more then a bug bite while I was in the game, but then I noticed today that the machine wasn't in my room now and the forum stuff. Maybe I am being paranoid but still just check yourself out ok. Please!!"

"Look at you trying to scare me, but I will honor what you said." Looking down at my hand to see him still holding it. "Ummm, Damien, will you let go of my hand now?"

I heard a giggle from behind me. Damien jumped away from me like I burned him. Turning around I saw Claire and Ethan standing there.

"Ahh young love is finally starting to bloom." Claire said laughing.

I went beat red, "Its not what it looked like, he was just pulling me over here."

"Uh huh, Onyx you are an adult its ok to try some romance out." Ethan said to make things worse.

I ignored them, glancing at Damien. "So are you ready for me to show you that I can take you even without my blood mage powers?"

Damien rolled his eyes, "I doubt you could even make a single hit or touch me."

"OOOHHH!!!, touch me please touch me," Claire chanted in a sultry tone.

That right there ended the competition as we both moved further apart and tried and failed to not blush.

"Let us go and leave them alone to their privacy. We dont want to miss our train after all. Damien leave the conspiracy theories at home. It is all nonsense after all. This is just a job." Ethan said as they both left holding hands.

"Race you back to our split up point?" I asked.

"Naww I have somewhere else I need to be, but we can race back to school." Damien said.

Nodding we counted down, 3... 2.. 1... GO! Off we went down the street. Running so fast it was like everything was a blur. We passed by Claire and Ethan as they were kissing and I almost stumbled when I saw that but just barely managed to catch my footing and keep my speed going. I arrived in front of the school gate to Damien already standing there.

"D@mn it, you beat me. Had I of not almost tripped I would of beat you!" I said.

Damien walked over to me and brushed my hair behind my ear looking straight into my eyes. I thought he was going to kiss me. His mouth slowly started getting closer and closer to my cheek. I could feel his hot breath on my cheek. I froze very still.

"Onyx," Damien whispered very softly." Never forget what I told you and check yourself over carefully. Text me later and we can talk. There is something else I wish to talk to you about."

Then he pulled back breathing a touch heavy and took off like a blur down the road. I stood there dazed and shocked. Then I came too and smacked my cheeks. I am such an idiot. What the hell did I think he was going to do kiss me? Idiot!!!
