Day 1 The Safe Room

"Fair enough I will see you tomorrow then." I replied.

I walked to the inn and went to open up the door but Cain opened it up and held it open for me and bowed. Walking in I saw that this was a pretty decent Inn. At the front desk a girl was hiding a bit behind the counter and looked up. She about screamed when she saw me but calmed down quickly.

"Hello, Can I help you? I am sorry but those vampires scare me so I am hiding here." The girl said.

I smiled a bit but not enough to show my fangs, "You have nothing to fear from those vampires. They will not touch you my dear. How many rooms do you have without windows? I would like to get them rooms."Suttering she replied, "Only two but they are large and designed to accommodate a standard sized seethe each. They are 10 gold a night but without a Master vampire they will not be able to stay here. As we can't have them snacking on our other guests."

"Can I get a discount if I reserve both rooms? Also don't worry they have a master vampire and they will not harm anyone in the town or Inn. I can assure you of that. If they act out even in the slightest you can call the werewolves in the tavern to come and kill the troublemaker." I replied.

"Both rooms can be 15 gold a night total but there aren't enough here to need both rooms. I can take you to them so you can see them for yourself if you want me too. Also you are right about that werewolves but no master, no room that is our policy." The girl said firmly.

"Show me the rooms. Cain, pay the woman for a couple nights. Put 30 gold on the counter so she knows we can pay." I ordered.

"Yes, Master." Cain replied and followed my order.

"Remain with the vampires and keep them away from the doors I will be back with this lady shortly once I check out the rooms." I said.

He nodded and bowed. I wantched him move over to them and stand near the front door to help block out the sunlight that could affect them. The girl started to walk to the right side of the counter and slide between me and the counter so she didn't go near the vampires. I was getting a bit annoyed by the programming that they made her so afraid that she wouldn't listen to my assurances of her safety.

"Miss, please calm down they won't come after you. They aren't hungry and are exhausted from being up all night and were almost burned alive just to get here." I said calmly.

"How do you know they aren't hungry? Do you travel with them or something? Are they one of the vampire acting troupes? If so we can lower the price and wave the master requirement but they will have to prove it by giving us a private showing." She said with a touch of hope in her voice.

I lifted my arm and showed her my wrist. Her eyes went huge and she just nodded. I think she mumbled, thats why they aren't hungry.

"Why are you helping them? This is the first room right here." She opened up a door and there was a staircase down into a pitch black room. "The light switch is at the bottom of the stairs though. Sorry! I won't go down first without the light on. I will follow you down."

I nodded and started to walk down the stairs. I could see just fine and the room looked quite large like she said. I walked to the light switch and closed my eyes as I turned on the light. She was right behind me and she seemed really serious all of the sudden. I could feel her tense nature and opened my eyes as I slowly turned to her.

"You can put away the stake, you are safe my dear." I said with a sigh.

"I am not safe with a vampire junkie wth me. I will keep my weapon until I am sure of my safety. Don't worry I wont use it on another Terran like you. I also won't hurt a paying customer even if they are vampires. It would scare away customers if we did that." She said with confidence and also a hint of regret.

"So this is the first room, looks like it could hold 40 vampires easily. What are those 4 doors?" I asked.

"Two go to full bathrooms, here let me show you. Also there are 20 fort beds that can hold 3 vampires each. So this room can sleep 60 people or vampires and then there are these two bathrooms here. She opened up one of them and turned on the light. It was decent with a large 3 person bathtub, toilet and double sink. The other bathroom is the same. The next door here is the Master's room it has a large bed and a couple small beds along the wall for servants for the master. and the door right there is a small private bathroom for the Master. It is just a shower, toilet and sink. The fourth door links the two large rooms together in a short hallway. I can take you to the other room that way if you want to see it as well."

"This one room will be plenty for my vampires. You have 30 gold on the counter and I will take this room here for 3 days." I said.

She started to shake her head. "Unless they are a troupe they can't stay more then a night without a master vampire. I am sorry I can overlook the rule for one night since they are fed but not more then a night."

I sighed again, "Listen they have a master who will be staying here with them without an issue. Cain will be here to watch over them."

"He can't be the master, he used to be a terran and was nothing more then a slave to the now deceased master vampire for the city. I recognise the others as well. I know they all have no master. That is why this town hates the vampires so much. Since the master was killed off they have had no leader and kill people whenever they want to without a leash to keep them under control so they cant act like normal townsfolk." She replied hotly. "Though I see he has a new master who is quite powerful and is serving you now. What do you pay him for his services?"

"I pay him with his life for him to obey me. Now I will say this only once and I do NOT want this to get out to the townsfolk. I am gathering up the vampires in this town to take them away from here. It will take 3 to 5 days to gather them all up but then they will be out of the this towns hair forever and will be my responsibility. The new master is one not to be messed with." I replied back.

She looked like I just told her she could have some free ice cream and was extremely happy. "How do you plan to do that? I would be so happy to have them gone from here. They killed my brother a couple years ago. Sorry about the weapon." She quickly put it up. "Who is this new master and should we all fear him? Can I hug you?"

Laughing I nodded and she hugged me tightly.

"Now that you are done with that," I smiled widely and showed her my fangs. She gasped and stepped back. "I am the new master and I have my own castle that I will be taking the vampires to so they have a place to live and wont trouble a town again. You don't have to worry about me or them they won't dare to disobey me. I don't kill things unless attacked or a vampire disobeys me. As for if you all need to fear me... As long as no one tries to attack me or kill me there is nothing to fear. I said it before I don't kill things unless I have no choice in the matter. Even those I feed on are left alive and well. They may be a bit dizzy but they are fed and well paid for it."

"Oh, okay." She looked carefully at me. "Strange, I feel I can trust you and I got no death sense from you when I hugged you. The vampires really won't touch a single customer here under your leadership. I will tell Pa Pa and get his approval for you to stay up to a couple of weeks. We will only charge you 2 gold a night for this great favor of removing the vampires from our town."

I shook my head. "5 gold is the lowest I am willing to pay for a night. So the 30 gold will cover 6 nights for right now."

She nodded and said, "Now I know why you weren't afraid to go down into the pitch black room first. Oh one more feature is up here at the top of the stairs. There is a metal beam here in the door that can be locked from the inside only. Its to insure the safety of the vampires while they rest during the day and give them a peace of mind. Though I have yet to find anyone stupid enough to try to attack a vampire seethe while they are in a safe and dark room. It would be sucide for them."

We headed back up the stairs.

"Behave now Max, don't upset me or our Master." Cain said annoyed.
