Aftermath

Just then I saw a dagger go through her neck but her body didn't move. I relaxed my ability and let her body drop to the floor. Her head rolled off to the left side and blood exploded out from both parts now that I wasn't freezing it into place.

It seemed like time stopped after this. Everything was silent and no one was fighting, they were frozen some with horror on their face, my friends with smiles and proud looks on their faces as they look at me. Slowly time seemed to start back up and we continued the fight. Behind the now truly dead body was Cain, he used his dagger to kill her.

"Sorry master, I knew you didn't want to kill a player so I did it for you. I hope you are not mad at me." Cain said through our bond.

Just then the fight resumed but everyone was giving me a wide birth and no one was willing to get close to me but my friends. Apparently I am a scary freak now and both sides were avoiding me. I walked over and started killing the Terrans for the mission. Claire's protection spell dropped while she was fighting with Ramona. Neither were being kind to each other or pulling their punches so to speak with their magic.

"This really sucks and is too easy. Show some power and no one wants to play with you anymore." I mumbled as I watched the, to be killed counter drop further.

When I got down to one person left, I looked around, those around me were Devlin, Alfred, Claire, Adam, Ramona, Abel, Cain and I were all that was left alive. Devlin had bloody hands and I could smell Fay blood on him. No clue how I knew it was Fay but I did. Alfred was hurt and sitting down but not dead. Claire looked exhausted but proud. Adam looked annoyed and slightly bitter. Ramona was out cold on the ground. Abel was soaking wet and his clothes looked crispy. I thought he looked like a dog who was lit on fire and then jumped in water to put it out. He looked hilarious as a soaking wet dog. Cain seemed tired and had a cut on his left arm that was bleeding from just a touch above the elbow to mid way down the forearm. Glancing at my pants, I was covered in dust and whatever else was on the floor.

*** 5mins left to complete the mission***

A system message chimed while we looked at each other. It seemed like a calm before the storm. No one was moving and were watching each other. 3 mins left

*** Congratulations to the attacking team for completing the mission.***

We all jumped when we heard the answer. I spun around and saw Shadow there pulling out her knife. She threw it and killed the final terran.

"I told you, Fay can fly and to use your flying, players forget to look up when planning who to attack. As soon as you distracted everyone I took off to the rafters and waited for my moment which finally came." Shadow said full of condemnation. "You are all idiots and noobs!"

With Claire and Damien, they walked back annoyed and talking the entire way.

"Damien, how did she get away from you? I thought you had her pinned and were about to kill her." Claire scolded.

"I thought I killed her as well, my hands are still covered with her blood. She looked completely fine though." Damien grumbled as he looked at his hands.

"Ummm, are you sure she was real that you attacked? Fay have glamour that can hide and use illusion. Though the blood sure looks real. Maybe she was really hurt and was using glamour to hide that fact." Claire replied.

"That may be true" Damien replied back.

Meanwhile back over with Lilith, Adam and Shadow...

"Are they gone yet?" Shadow asked thru clenched teeth.

Nodding I replied, "Yeah they are gone, is something wrong?"

As I asked that Shadow collapsed holding her side. The next thing I see is blood forming a pool around her. It appears that she was actually hurt. I rushed over to get a good look at the wound.

"I can help you with the blood situation if you want me too." I asked, "I grabbed a health potion out of my pack and handed it to her, so here drink it. I will prevent you from having anymore blood loss."

I tipped it up and she drank it. All the while I used my ability this time to save a life again rather then taking a life. Feels better to save a life rather then to take a life. When the potion kicked in her wound healed up and I was able to help her with her loss of blood, I and Adam slowly helped her stand up.

"Thanks, it took a lot out of me to keep standing up back there. I didn't want him to know that he almost managed to kill me. I did not want to die again. It is nice to see that we managed to win the quest." Shadow replied a bit weakly.

"That was pretty cool, how did you do that? I am not able to do that." Adam asked with feeling. "Was that illusion magic? How do you do it? Can all Fay use illusion?

"It is very basic of a skill, you get from the queen of course. You have met her correct?" Shadow asked with a touch of curiosity in her voice.

Adam just shook his head and started walking back to our location. I quickly caught up. Wondering what we might get for winning, I almost jogged along beside Adam. We slowed down some so Shadow could catch back up. I could tell Adam was bitter about something but I did not want to pry.
