A few minutes later three soldiers in Nether's uniform walked in and walked straight to Frances' cell.
"Hey you! You're coming with us." One growled, while the other two opened up the cell to apprehend her. As they walked , the bodies of the other four prisoners that lay cold on the floor, all weak and badly injured due to their fight earlier.
"Be fast about it!" he yelled at the others.
John and Josephine watched silently from the corner of the prison, still unnoticed.
"Are those your-"
"Shhhhhh" John shushed her, "yes they are" he whispered, "follow them"
They handcuffed Frances who showed no resistance whatsoever as they walked her out of the prison.
As they walked out, on reaching the entrance, they were met by a squad of suspicious soldiers. They paused, staring intensely at the three men who escorted Frances.
The leader walked up to the men, scanned them from head to toe, walked around them and barked, "Engage the waterfall."
Simultaneously, the three soldiers responded differently.
The first said, "Long live the Queen!"
The second said, "The Kingdom of Nether!"
The third said, "Our enemies perish!"
As they gave their awkward salutations.
The squad all looked at each other, a minute of silence allowed them to properly evaluate the situation and come up with the right conclusion right before the commander yelled,
"Spies!" while drawing out his sword.
Before he could complete his call, John slit his throat in a flash. In the same breathe, he began taking out the other soldiers. Josephine had never seen such speed.
As she stood there, astonished, he yelled, "Won't you give me a hand?" Snapping her back into the present, as she joined him to take out the squad.
The soldiers couldn't see what attacked, therefore they had no defense against them. Their squad of fifty soldiers was quickly wiped out by just John and Josephine.
While John and Josephine fought the soldiers, one of the three spy soldiers placed a piece of clothing over Frances' face, making her lose consciousness in an instant.
John signaled to his soldiers in disguise to place Frances in the cart that carried goods.
"Hey, some more soldiers are on their way, I want you to go through the way we came and meet us in the forest."
"But I want to follow you. That's my sister."
"I know she is, and that's why I'm telling you to meet us outside. The security at the gate is slack, and if one more person jumps on, it would only slow down the cart."
"Slow down the cart?"
"Yes! Plus, you aren't even familiar with our style of operation. We don't have much time, just go quickly and meet us there."
Josephine nodded her head and ran towards the route she came from while John and the others galloped towards the gate. Josephine moved very swiftly. She was a quick learner, so she learnt how John and his crew ran so fast without making any noise as they did. She definitely took after her older sister, Nicole, but she wasn't quite there yet.
She opened up the stone she entered through and quietly got in the underground tunnel. As she landed, she sleekly closed the stone back.
Before she took a step, she had an uneasy feeling. Something was wrong. She felt it so deeply and began hearing her heart beats through her mind. With pure instincts alone, she jumped out of the way and to the other side of the tunnel, just quick enough to dock the arrow that whistled past her. She stood up and took a look. Behold, emerging from the darkness of the tunnel on all sides, were the silver warriors.
How did they find me? she worried as she stood up, taking out her sickle and bracing herself for the battle at hand.
"Is this the mature transitionist that John told us about?" A voice uttered from behind the silver warriors.
"Yes your Majesty." Jamie responded to the Queen.
"This is the replacement for Nariah? Are you sure?"
"With everything I've heard about her, she has the potential."
"I actually preferred her Frances. It's quite unfortunate that she isn't mature enough for the ritual. We would've just killed her for nothing."
"We could've just kept the two of them. There was no need to let him take Frances away, Your Majesty."
"No, no. It's alright. It's a nice bargain. I'm sure her value would be a lot more. Who knows."
"So what do we do with her?"
"Execute her and bring her body to the old lady's chamber. After you're done, tell the soldiers to keep searching for Nariah's body. We can't afford to waste any more time." The Queen said, walking away from the scene.
"John, that double crossing bastard!" Josephine gnashed as the soldiers charged towards her.
She took a deep breath and with a fierce cry, she charged at them. It was a huge collision. She kept swinging her sickle at them, striking with deadly precision as she simultaneously dodged every blow that was thrown at her. She destroyed multiple soldiers, but they just wouldn't stay down but she didn't stop fighting.
However, it was only a matter of time before she got stabbed in the abdomen by a spear but like a gladiator, thirsty for blood, she only got more infuriated and her lust for blood only increased.
For hours Jospehine kept on fighting the silver warriors, her sickle danced to the rhythm of death non stop, but eventually, the weight of numbers began to tell. She couldn't keep up. She turned around to the lesser group, and made a run towards them.
On reaching close to them, she launched herself in the air, her legs coiled in the air as she arched over the group. Time seemed to stop as she soared over them, landing rather smoothly just outside the soldiers that surrounded her.
She took to her heels and ran towards the exit. As she kept running, she was met by another warrior. Unlike the others, this one stood alone and was more composed.
The silver warrior arched it's bow, aiming at Josephine. Before Josephine could fully react, the soldier released the arrow, narrowly missing her heart, but landing a powerful strike on her shoulder as it pierced all the way to the other side.
Despite the hit Josephine had taken, she wanted to live so she kept running. On getting closer to the soldier, before it could take out another arrow, she landed a powerful right on its face, sending ripples all through the tunnel as it knocked off its helmet.
As she stood face to face with the warrior, she dropped to her knees in shock on seeing who it was.
"It can't be...you died."
It was like she was hit in the gut. She struggled to breath but it felt like her nostrils were blocked.
What's going on here? She feared still staring at the person who stood emotionless in front of her. She wasn't bothered by the horde of soldiers that chased her from behind.
All she had her eyes on was the mysterious being who stood in front of her.
"Mother..." she cried.
Rebecca looked exactly as she did the last time they saw, but this time, her eyes were completely gray and she had no emotions on her face.
Still on her knees and looking onto her mother's face, tears ran down her cheeks as her body shivered,
"Mother" she called, while mother took out another arrow, and aimed it towards Josephine.
