World War Nether (Midnights)

Walter, a young teen, relocated to Europe with family. Just under a year in the UK with his new girlfriend, Nicole, things go relatively smoothly until the course of their lives completely changed in a direction no one saw coming. They wake up in a mythological nightmare, saturated with mystery on every side. It was a place that was completely infested with every type of mythological beast, a place full of magic, a place full of imposters, a place without sun or moonlight, a place ravaged by an ongoing war, and no one was who they claimed to be. Walter gets caught up in the heat of the conflict, and somehow, HE IS THE CAUSE OF THE WAR THAT BEGAN 7 YEARS BEFORE HIS ARRIVAL. “How could this be? Who am I? Why is everyone after me?” Walter wondered, as he was being tossed around by different groups that all struggled to keep him in their custody. In less than a week of his arrival, he becomes the most wanted man in the whole dimension. Wanted by man, spirit and beast. Walter began considering what path to follow as those words, ‘The meaning of life is that it stops, and we only understand death after it has placed its hands on a loved one.’ rang through Walter's head. “Can I really get a second chance to relive?” At the end of his rope, Walter comes to the conclusion that it is man's innate nature to be evil, seeing that even in death, humans are still at war. But in the face of despair, Walter finds a reason to fight back!

Somebody, save us!

They were all terrified, seeing that they threw everything they had at him, but he was still standing.

Bruised, but with a devious smile on his face, he dropped the stone and began walking towards his chain.

"Whatever we do, we must not allow him to pick up that chain!" John yelled running towards him.

Frances and Adeola also ran after him with their weapons. It was three on one, and Jade didn't have any weapon in his hand.

As John got close to him, he began swinging his dagger at Jade who dodged every swing, but didn't attack. John was very fast, and the others could not trace his movements. It was as if, he wasn't serious all along, but this time, he knew what the outcome would be if Jade got those chains.

As he kept swinging his hands from left to right, up and down, Jade just kept dodging, until he had the chance. With another missed try, Jade threw a punch at John, landing on his solar plexus. John's whole body bent over on receiving that punch, dropping his dagger in pain, his whole body fidgeting due to his plexus being tampered with.

"You shouldn't leave yourself too open because of desperation." Jade calmly said before using his other hand to land another strike John's back, in the middle of his spine, temporarily knocking him unconscious.

Before John's body hit the floor, Frances was already in Jade's front, her sickle was on its way to clear the commander's head off.

He's either going to dodge or hold my hand, I've seen him do that. When he does, Adeola would have another opening to strike, Frances thought.

"Fool" Jade calmly voiced, kicking her in the abdomen, sending her and her sickle flying backwards.

"I've seen your trick before." He added as he swiftly turned back and grabbed Adeola who was on a stealth, by the hair, and slammed her to the ground.

"I'm sick of all these tricks!" He yelled as he kicked Adeola away colliding into her sister.

As John was still unconscious. Jade grabbed John's head and began dragging his body as he walked towards his chain.

"We can't let him get any closer, common Adeola!"

They both charged at him once more, despite not fully recovering from the last beat down.

"Are you both just eager to die?" He said, throwing John's body at them, sending them all to the ground once again. After John's body collided with them, they realized he wasn't even lightweighted.

"How did he throw this guy at us with so much ease, and with one hand too?" Adeola asked, struggling to roll the body off her.

"I guess He's just really strong then."

"What type of workouts do they practice in Jotunheim."

"No no, this shouldn't be normal. Not even enhancers can give this much strength."

As Jade walked majestically towards them Arjun yelled,

"Leave them alone, you coward!"

He shot multiple stones at him, all with great intensity and perfect aim. As they rocketed towards him, he dodged everyone of them with ease, and just for flex, he used his hand to catch the last stone mid-air, twisted, and threw it back at Arjun.

For a combat warrior, he had an extremely good aim as the stone flew with deadly momentum towards Arjun, who used his weapon to block its direct impact. Nevertheless, it sent him flying into one of the trees, and shattering his catapult on impact.

"Let's see you recover from that!" Jade said before turning back and walking towards his chain.

Frances and Adeola were too weak to get up. They could only helplessly watch as the commander slowly picked up his deadly weapon which now guaranteed their defeat.

He picked up the chain which just kept shinning. He looked into the blade and his reflection smiled back at him. He turned towards Frances and Adeola who still were on the ground with John's body on them. He began making his whorls, once again, and walking towards them.

"Do you know what I hate more than ingrates?" He asked, looking directly at Adeola.

"Evil spirits."

They both struggled to roll John's body away.

"Don't you dare stand to your feet. I swear on your mother's grave, Your deaths will be painful." He said, halting their movements, and forcing them to remain on the ground.

"Please, just let her go. Take me instead." Frances pleaded.

"You know, if you hadn't set the Kingdom on fire and killed countless men in the process, I would've considered your plea. But what did you do? You did just that…To add to your crimes, which I was also willing to forgive you for, you all dared set your filthy, disgusting fingers on my lord. You injured him, and burnt his Palace knowing he was still inside. You are all going to die. Not even the Prince can talk me out of this one."

In a last attempt, John threw a small sac that contained a high volume of the conc smelling chemical at Jade. Jade was fully alert, but he wasn't expecting a chemical attack. So when his blades cut through the sac, the chemical poured on his face. This time, he was truly caught off guard.

He jumped back in shock, coughing severely, and struggling to breath with very long, ragged gasps as he went down on his knees. His whole system felt a squeezing effect from the inside out as his guts folded in his abdomen. His eyes instantly became red and even a slight touch from the wind caused a heavy irritation, therefore completely blurring his sight. His senses were really down this time.

"He's down! He's down! Let's get out of here!"Frances yelled.

Should I go and finish him off or I should run away now that I have the chance. Regardless, I may never have these two options before me again.

John wondered as he speedily stood to his feet with his dagger in his hand.

"John! Why're you just standing there? Let's get out of here!"

John stood there, confused as he watched the commander on his knees and in heavy discomfort.

"I'll never get this chance again!" He yelled back at Frances.

"Are you out of your mind? He's going to kill you.John! No! don't do it!" Frances yelled as she watched John run towards the commander.

More powerstones! Ugh!
