First battle

Sitting on top of a house Shin could be seen scanning the area, houses were shut tight and some people who Shin assumed to be aware of demons had wisteria flowers smoking outside their homes.

From what he remembered demons hated wisteria so it was a good call.

Two days had passed.

During this time Shin didn't do much other than explore the area to learn the layout and stay out each night to watch out in case the demon came back earlier than expected.

Currently, Shin was just looking towards a home he assumed to be the next target of the demon until he suddenly felt his senses go off. Some may have brushed it off but thanks to his training he trusted them more than most things.

Not wanting to waste any more time he stood up and scouted the area around the house he had his eye on. Shortly after a figure came into view, it stretched out its arm into a window and pulled out a boy around his age.

"Someone please he-" the boy was close to shouting but the demon hurriedly covered his mouth with an amused look on its face.

Shin didn't hesitate to take a deep breath and kick himself off the ground towards the demon as he felt himself being strengthened. "Sssss~"

"Moon Breathing: First Form - Dark Moon - Evening Palace"

Shin's body sped up as he unsheathed his sword and slashed swiftly in a single crescent moon motion, numerous chaotic crescent blades originated from the slash with Shin's sword behind it.

The demon who was about to take a bite out of the kid felt a chill go down its spine. It immediately dropped the boy before jumping away in fright.

"Damn I missed." Shin cursed to himself before looking up at the demon that had jumped on top of the house it dragged the kid out of.

"What do we have here?" The demon that was once frightened looked down at Shin with a sadistic grin on its face. "What is a kid like you doing with that?"

The demon pointed towards the sword in Shin's hand. "I didn't think a Slayer would be out here."

Shin looked up at the demon in disgust while getting into stance once again. "Stop talking and die already."

The demon started laughing loudly as its tongue fell out of its mouth. "Fine, I'll humour you!'' The demon's claws started growing out and he dashed towards Shin with inhuman speed.

'Fast but not fast enough.' Shin slightly smiled and dodged the demons' attack, Shin quickly swung his sword towards the demons' neck once again but it hastily moved out the way.

Thud!

A green arm hit the ground with a thud, the demon looked at Shin in disbelief trying to process what happened. Shin didn't give the demon the chance to react. He disappeared from the spot he once stood and appeared behind the demon with his sword approaching its neck like before.

"Fuck!" The demon cursed out loud, Shin's eyes widened at what happened next.

The demon made a copy of itself, it blocked Shin's blade that was coming towards the main body with its own before breaking into countless pieces and turning into ash.

'What?!'

Shin hurriedly tried to back away but was kicked on his left side, sending him flying into the woods. The demon chased after him leaving the child that was supposed to be eaten behind.

Shin moved his body in the air to regain his balance, thanks to his training he was able to do this easily so he safely landed on the ground.

'What the hell was that? He cloned himself but how is that possible?' Shin started racking his brain for an answer, the only possible outcome is that it was a blood demon art his teacher had told him about.

While Shin was still thinking he heard footsteps rushing towards him, he lifted his sword and breathed in.

As soon as the demons came out he struck!

"Moon Breathing: First Form - Dark Moon - Evening Palace."

Shin slashed swiftly in a single crescent moon motion at the incoming demon and cut off its head, the body slowly began to turn to ash but Shin hurriedly turned around and unleashed another Evening Palace.

Blood splashed on the side of his face as he looked up in front of him to see the demon once again being beheaded with a crazy smile on Its face before turning to ash once again.

Shin moved from his spot as claws aimed at his chest passed by in the spot he once stood. 'Why won't he die?!' He was becoming more frustrated as time went on.

Again Shin heard laughing but this time it was coming all around him, 6 copies of the green demon came out with a wide smile on their face going ear to ear.

"Give up kid." They all said at the same time.

Shin looked at the demons around, he paid attention to every movement of muscle but after a few seconds he started laughing. "What the hell, how did I not notice such an obvious detail? Haha!"

"Have you finally given up?" The demons looked at Shin with an arrogant smile which he just ignored.

He suddenly turned towards one of the demons and pointed his sword towards it taking them all by surprise.

"You're the real one."

He ran at high speed and vanished under the moonlight and appeared next to the demon, his sword already in motion to behead it.

"Moon Breathing: First Form - Dark Moon - Evening Palace"

Shin unleashed two swift consecutive crescent slashes ahead of him, both of them heading towards the demon's neck horizontally.

The demon instinctively dashed back and ran away while facing Shin, keeping his guard up and summoning more copies to take the fall.

Shin gave chase after the demon while cutting through the clones, Shin's first slash reduced their numbers heavily and the one's still alive lost their arms. Seeing there was nothing blocking him and his senses that he trusted yelled for him to go in, he didn't hold back.

With nothing blocking his goal Shin launched his second slash. The demon's head parted from his body with visible horror on its face watching its body turn to ash.

Shin stopped in his tracks seeing the demon had died and more weren't coming out.

He sheathed his sword and turned to look towards the demon's head before giving it a smug look, he walked towards him and crouched. "I know this doesn't matter but I wanted to let you know you died to a blind kid."

Shin continued to smile at the demon mockingly, he was sure that if the demon could speak it would be yelling. He knew there was no point in taunting him but it was kinda fun, he wouldn't always be able to do this.

While he was surrounded he noticed how one of the copies, which turned out to be the original, had small parts of its organs going missing each time it made a copy, it was almost unnoticeable but Shin caught it.

His eyes were the perfect counter for a demon such as this yet he felt dumb for not noticing it before. "You live and learn I guess."
