You watched as Noctis wearily lowered his sword and tucked in back into its sheath. Kairi backed away from you and stepped to the side to wait for Noctis. Suddenly, the King lunged at a guard and grabbed his gun. Things moved in slow motion for you after that. The King turned around and aimed the gun straight at Kairi's head.

Your heart beat was slow. It didn't speed up like it usually did when you worried. You took a step towards Kairi.

It was like the room's noise had been sucked out by a vacuum. It was eerily silent, but it seemed like that only for you. You could see Noctis yelling something and running towards her but he was moving to slow. The same with your friends behind you.

This wasn't a blind action for you. It wasn't just a reaction. You knew exactly what you were doing as you reached Kairi. The King pulled the trigger.

You pushed her and watched as she slowly fell to the ground. Then you turned to face the King. His face was drawn with such hatred. Was that what Rufus's face looked like when he shot Hanna? Is this what she felt like? You weren't scared. You were just doing what Aqua told you to do. You were being brave. You were staying strong. A sharp pain hit you right in the middle of your body, right below where the ribbon was tied on your dress.

You flew back and hit the floor. You could feel your head rebound off the ground, but it didn't hurt. Nothing hurt. Sound slowly rushed back to you.

"[Name]!" Multiple voices screamed. You heard a stampede rush towards you. Kairi was crying, and there were more gunshots. Whoever had gotten to you first sat you up in their arms. You saw the King dead on the ground. Your gaze traveled down to assess the damage. A pool of red began to form on your white dress. It grew and grew until it began to cover most of the front of your dress.

'Why doesn't it hurt?' You thought. You felt so numb. A hand caressed your cheeks and you looked up to see [BOC]. He was the one holding you.

"I-I can't feel..." You couldn't finish your sentence. He began to yell but the sound had been muted again. You lifted your hand to touch his face but halfway there your hand fell to your side weakly.

Someone walked up behind him and stood looking over his shoulder. She smiled at you sweetly.

"You're so brave [Name]." Hanna cooed. She brushed her hair back with her hand and chuckled.

"H-" You opened your mouth but nothing came out. Her voice was so loud and clear while everything else was muted.

"Shh." She whispered. You noticed how different she looked then everyone else. It seemed like she was almost shining. She reached forward and set a hand on your body. "I'm proud of you [Name]. I truly am."

You smiled softly and glanced back at [BOC]'s stricken face. Your vision was beginning to fade around the edges. He was yelling frantically, but you couldn't hear him. You frowned wishing you could hear his voice one more time. You wanted him to smile for you. His face was drawn in lines of anger and worry an he yelled. That wasn't how you wanted to see him. You wanted to see his smile again. The black edges grew and grew until the only thing you could see was his face. Then slowly you watched as the darkness covered him completely.
