"Did you sleep well?"
Calix inquired as he pushed Leslie's wheelchair toward the dining room. Aunt Wendy had already served breakfast there. The clock was pointing to eight-thirty.
Tilting her head, Leslie threw a look at Calix. Faint laughter escaped her lips, expressing how funny she thought his question was.
"Did you forget... you've asked me... that already?"
Leslie's teasing earned a helpless smile from Calix. Raising his brows, he replied, "I think I asked that thrice already, didn't I?"
"Hehe, yes..."
Sleeping soundly at five, Leslie woke up again before eight. Calix came knocking on her door when Mrs. An helped her to get ready.
CEO Xu had dark circles under his eyes. Albeit faintly, they were enough to tell anyone he had a sleepless night.
As for Leslie, she didn't feel as burdened as before. Learning more information about Charlene's past devastated her but, she took it as a chance to right what was wrong.
