Foul Play

Present day

Morning came and Hidayat was getting ready to leave the mansion for the office. Hidayah was still unconscious and their parents were still at the hospital.

As he was walking out of the door, his phone rang. "Hidayat, we've got the information. Do you want me to brief you on the phone or would you like me to brief you in the office?" Daniel spoke as soon as Hidayat answered, leaving Hidayat no chance to greet his friend. "Let's do this in the office. Let me go to the hospital first. I need to drop some stuff for my parents."

Hidayat ended the call and entered his car with a paper bag in his hand. The platinum plated McLaren P1 LM engine roared as Hidayat left the compound.

Tuttut… tuttut… His phone rang again with a message notification. It's Uncle Jonathan: Hidayah's car has been recovered and being processed by her team for secondary checking. The primary check has found no foul play. But we strongly believe this is not purely an accident.

The drive to the hospital left Hidayat with a heavy heart. Why is this happening now? Who is doing this to us? Is this an internal strife or the underworld playing dirty?

After visiting Hidayah and leaving the package to his parents, Hidayat left the place for the office. He seldom comes to the office before this. He does help out with the family business from time to time but the restaurant was his main focus. With Hidayah being unconscious, Hidayat will have to step up and take over the rein.

8.30am in the Vice President's office.

"Hidayat, this is bad. Her car computer system was hijacked by a microchip that Leoneil found earlier. Unfortunately, we could not find the culprit. Though, this microchip needs a remote control within 1 km range. This means the culprit is in the area when the accident happened." Daniel passed the folder of information from Hidayah's crash on the table as he summarised the incident, "I have already asked Leoneil to retrieve all the security camera's footage in the area to check for any suspicious vehicle during the accident."

Hidayat looked over the information and closed the folder. "Include the footages from a week back for our office building car parks, home compound and the training ground." Hidayat then turned his chair towards the window and spoke again, "this means, the chip was recently installed and we need to check for any possible leads before the accident."

"Sure. I will update you again later today."

"Hmm…" Daniel then stood up and left the room. Hidayat was left alone with a stack of documents that he needed to go through for the day. Both his and Hidayah's assistant were seated outside for any further instructions. As both offices are side-by-side, it was easier for the assistants to be working together in such scenario.

ARK Corporation is currently working on a redevelopment project to preserve some historical sites and buildings in Country C. Hidayat was going through the documents for this project when he found some information interesting. Project Partners: Starlight Corporation, JAde Corporation, JFL Redevelopment and ARK Corporation. Hmmm… is this a coincidence? Why is Starlight participating in this project?

Hidayat pressed on the intercom to call for his assistant, "Annabelle, can you tell Erika to come to my room urgently? I need information on the Historical Sites project. Thanks." Hidayat then put down the documents and stood up from his seat. He then walked towards the ceiling to floor window and looked out to release some tension.

He then unbuttoned his dark grey Brioni Classic Wool 2-piece suit and adjusted his navy blue shirt collar and loosened his charcoal grey necktie.
