But when someone shows her what true love is! Would she be able to forget the hatred inside her and give her life a second chance? And what if only then did the blind emperor realize his mistake and ask for a second chance too? Had an interesting conversation

Katherine pov contd..

"So, would you like to take a walk with me in the garden?" i asked brother as it feel foreign to be with him suddenly when he was not here since start, but to see a family member again felt great.

He looked at me with affectionate eyes, that was enough to fill tears in my eyes, a lump formed on my threat as he patted my shoulders.

"There there, you are not a kid anymore, Kath. you are the empress, the mother of all the children of the Forchestier empire!" I nodded as I remembered my new role now. Wiping my tears from the handkerchief he had passed me, I smiled again.

"Now, you still have to handle the responsibilities of the after party. While I have to go and meet his majesty. He has called me to discuss some urgent matters. Have you been assigned to the knights and maids?" he asked as he wiped my tears with his hands again to make sure my eyes were not looking wet at all.

"I have three maids, but I do not have knights. I think I will not leave the palace, so I do not need them yet." he frowned and shook his head with displeasure.

"This will not do. You are the empress. There must be at least one knot that will always follow you to keep you safe. I will talk about it with his majesty too.`` I just smiled as I really did not need a knight to follow me all the time.

"If you are free, let's have dinner together." Finally I nodded with relief when he offered to have dinner with me. I have started to think that he had forgotten about me completely when he did not come to meet me at all. I must be overthinking all the time. After all, he came this far only to be with me.

Giving me a last look, he left. I saw Diana at the distance. She was walking back to her chamber with her knights and maids following her.

"Lady Diana.'' I called her and her steps halted. I wanted to run to her but with the dress I was wearing and the burden of being the empress had slowed me down. It made this small distance feel much more. But the girl did not even turn to look at me even once in the meanwhile.

"Princess Diana. I apologize, I did not get the time to meet you properly at the party. I am Katherine, you sister in law.`` I bowed my head a bit just to complete the norms. But she held her dress and bowed properly as if we were strangers. It made me feel awkward a bit yet I maintained the smile on my face.

"Hail to the glory of the empire, her majesty, the moon of the empire. I am pleased to meet you." She was more formal than the ladies that had come to meet us at the party tonight, making me wonder if she was a strict woman who followed all the norms.

"I am glad to meet you too. Are you going back to your chamber, Lady Diana?" she nodded her head without saying a single word, which brought the conversation at dead end.

"Are you rather busy with studies, princess?" I asked again but she just shook her head. Should i tell her that she needed to open her pretty mouth a few times and spare some words.

"Oh, then would you like to take a stroll in the garden?" I asked again, trying my luck. She looked at me and then at the garden with confusion.

"Didn't we spend our whole morning and noon already there?" Although it was announced as a tea party, the ladies started to come early in the morning on the pretense that their palaces were too far from there, so they did not want to take the chance of being late if they started their journey at night.

I was sure that they wanted to check if I was well prepared if they came before time or made some mistakes in attending them.

Especially that baroness Veronica! She was looking like a hawk watching its prey every passing second. And it's already evening now.

"Then.." would you like to have dinner with me died in my mouth when she looked at me and replied,

"I am tired after spending all the time with the noble ladies, your majesty. I would like to go and take a rest for a while.`` I could only nod to the way she presented the situation. But she was the only woman I could befriend here, so I would not give up this easily.

"I understand, the party was rather tiring." i started and she nodded her head, ready to run away from there any second when i added, "then you shall have early dinner and rest. I will see you on the breakfast then.'' She nodded without even hearing my whole sentence and it was too late when she realized what I had said.

"Great, I knew that you would not deny me." just when she opened her mouth to give another excuse. I added this line and then hugged her. I could see her reluctance, but decided to be thick skin and feign ignorance.

"Alright, your majesty." I finally let her go when I heard her acceptance and smiled.

"Then I will see you tomorrow. Goodnight, lady Dianna."

"Good night to you too, your majesty." Although she left early, I still have something to look forward to. I smiled hoping that our next conversation would not be this stiff.

But from the day I arrived in this palace, God had stopped listening to my request for peace. Just when I turned , Rosamund was standing like a ghost and looking at me with an unnerving gaze.

"I heard that you had a lot of interesting conversations at the party, your majesty."
