Glass is fragile, as is the human race

Imagine a man of great success... he has money, power, fame, knowledge and love.

Is this man said to be the strongest?

Time always moves forward so there is no need for the weak, but... after the world developed weapons such as nukes and guns anyone could acquire power with ease. Since these weapons became too powerful for anyone's use, laws were developed to keep the destructive power of these weapons for the people at the top of the hierarchy to keep their position. A child is the most fragile form for humans as we have fallen from survival and strive to live in comfort. Kailim was a boy who had to live through survival of the fittest but when the guns were made and he was forced to live in a society he was immediately labelled as an outcast, a weakling.

In Kailim's world to be strong he had to be reinforced, as human are as fragile as glass and the creation of weapons caused humans to be a weaker version of their ancestors.

Kailim was still young when he was sent to live with all these people and was sent to go to school where he was further alienated by his peers and left to his own devices, like crafting. He was raised by his late father who taught him the rules of survival. Fight to get what you want, earn what you want and do not torment the weak.

Instead, fight the strong to become stronger and help those who are still fragile humans.

Kailim spent 8 years of his life in the wilderness before his fathers passing, leaving him to be found two years later by the humans who've strayed from the path of survival and lived to be in comfort.

The comfort lifestyle that he hadn't earned was a constant suffocating feeling, he was an orphan but he was still given a bed, meals, a place to stay and even an education. Knowledge was everything, Kailim knew this fact at gracefully took the studies. His understanding of the work was outstanding but his ability to convey this talent was limited to his ways of survival, as he was the only child who had lived in the wilderness he was a prime target for bullies. But to Kailim these other kids were no more than insects ready to be stepped on as they lived in comfort and don't know what it means to fight for Their Life.

After injuring people who tried to lower him he was labelled "A freak of nature" the "outlandish devil" and many more names. He didn't hurt the weak because he wanted to be strong but to defend himself as humans apart are weak, but humans together are stronger.

Age 12 is the time where his life is at the lowest and nobody talks to him for he has many nicknames that are taboo to have in society.

These people didn't try to understand him, he worked hard to understand them and he knew exactly everything he wanted to know. The people had relied on the weapons to make themselves strong and wanted to stay fragile, without their protection they would be back to square one where all other living creatures killed us for "sport."

Women on this side of the world are ten times more useless as men's genetic construction was built a lot stronger so this created a world where women weren't allowed any more freedom, the men ran the world. Kailim's father always told him how strong his mother was that she could fight the strongest creatures for territorial uses. In his world, everyone rank was decided by their strength and honesty, but in this new world lies and deceit rule the world tenfold.

His years in school was tormenting, constant ridicule getting in trouble as the other kids spread lies about him. Was this supposed to be what the life of comfort should be like?

At a point in time, he was kicked out of the orphanage for causing so much trouble and it didn't take long for the world of society and comfort to kick him to the curb. No home, no food, nobody. Kailim had turned to begging status, in his world, this was a disgraceful thing to do and showed weakness. Only those who are incapable of strength do such.

It was horrible, he'd be fed at most one meal a week getting skinnier and skinnier, losing his strength with every passing day. So he decided to move to the park where there was more foliage, which felt more like his home. And as time went by, for some reason every morning he wakes up to bread and water beside him. Constantly on the verge of death due to society and someone is helping him, he is still young roughly 14 years of age maybe someone felt bad for the child to be left alone but couldn't take of him directly.

Thinking about it can't get him anywhere, it's not a secure food source but it was enough for Kailim to regain his strength.

As days passed his meals grew larger, "who is this person?" Is the only thought that runs through his mind. If he was awake earlier he didn't receive meals so he had to be asleep to receive meals from the person taking care of him.

Curiosity got the better of him and one morning he woke up extra early but this time pretended to be sleeping to find who this person was, as someone who was taken away from his home and then abandoned can only show gratitude for this person.

...The sun is on the verge of rising over the horizon but because the buildings are tall it takes a little longer for the park to get sunlight. Time passes a bit more and "pat" "pat" "pat," the sound of someone walking but as if to be quiet, their steps weren't as heavy as in adults so it must be someone younger. He takes a peek and sees and sees very small shoes in front of him, too small to be an adult and designed to be more ladylike in terms society uses. Kailim gets up from his fake sleep a places his head on the ground and profusely thanks the kind lady.

Of course in shock she quickly ran away not sure what to do if caught, Kailim determined to know his saviours' name silently follows her to know her route to give proper thanks.

As she let her guard down she was approached by a couple of other boys, they all seemed to be the same age as Kailim but the girl seemed to be what seems like a year younger.

One of the boys slams his hand on the wall blocking the girls' exit, she tells the boys not to mess with her. But as the struggle goes in this world, the strong bully the weak. She didn't seem to be in any danger and she also looked very capable but looks can be deceiving. One of the boys grabbed her by the hair and started calling her names, then another boy ridiculed her for giving me food each morning.

She was in a struggle but because men and women have such different builds the girl could not break free. Kailim full of anger he tackles one of the boys, "who the fuck are you?!" One of the boys scream. A lot of confusion was created and instead of fighting Kailim grabbed the girls hand and ran, the boys gave chase and the girl clearly couldn't keep up so in a hurry he lifts her and runs full speed through the city inevitably losing the boys. Ever since Kailim started receiving meals from the girl he'd been exercising his body regularly as to be ready for anything, but still lacks the fighting capability he had when he just came to this place.

Huffing and puffing trying to get his breath back he sits down, "thank you for helping but they will just come back again tomorrow to do the same thing." The girl whispers under her breathe.

"If they come again then I will come again to help you!" Kailim says with his formal English. Because of school his English is very formal and lacks personality.

She refused his help and left immediately, as a boy who protects the weak he couldn't let her get into such violence without the strength of her own.

So on a school day he followed her and low and behold it was his old school that she went to, Kailim remembers pretty much everyone there. But why does he not recognise this girl?

He had stolen clothes from a store nearby and had a hat to cover his scruffy hair as that's how everyone knew who he was. Nobody noticed it was him but during the day he was pulled suddenly into the closet and "what are you doing here?!" The girl exclaims. "You have yet to provide me your name," Kailim tells her. Reluctant she tells him, Alissa. "Now that you know what the hell are you doing here?!" He explains to her his views on her deeds.

Easy to understand, but as it can't go on as is she made ground rules that he must follow in order to give her a normal life.

He must not follow her during the day.

He must not meddle in her personal business.

Only she may talk to him he may not speak to her.

Simple rules that are easy to follow, and so that's how their relationship developed. She was taking care of his meals so he took care of himself on other sides, they kept this up for about 3 months before one day an old lady who looked like a witch told from stories.

"Eluf sning yuluf!" The lady exclaims.

"Another language?" Kailim thinks to himself.

"Butai lalalin buru un intim," she kept going but it made no sense.

As the silence filled the night a large scaling rune or something showed up above him, it proceeded to lower over him bit by bit he disappeared. The old lady cackled into the night and disappeared into the darkness.

"What happened to me? Who was that? Where am I?" Questions filled Kailim's head but none able to be answered. Until he heard a voice, soft-spoken but firm "You are one of ten children who have been chosen to lead the human tribe to the status of strongest, you will be presented with the innate ability to use magic and swords in this world and further your strength, the other tribes are large scale as the human race is on a smaller scale thus threatening their existence. If you lead you may rule if you succeed you may have 1 wish granted"

This was all too sudden, Kailim could only make sense of half of what she said only leaving his mind with more and more questions.

About what felt like a day had passed he woke up in a very unfamiliar building, it seemed like a home but it was crudely built and had no structural value. He looked around to make sense of his surroundings, his old classmates were around him in other beds still asleep.

He didn't see Alissa. She is probably safe at home is what he tells himself, he leaves the room to find someone, along the way out he bumps into an old man who seemed to be in his 80's. He was old but way too strong for his age, "I'm sorry sir, please may you tell me what's going on?" The man looks at Kailim and says "We will explain everything after everyone wakes up, while you wait feel free to roam our village, one of the others woke up already and has explored the village they should be by the flower garden."

Looking at the faces of the people resting beside him on the other beds, Kailim remembers everyone's face and everything they did to him.

Destroying his stationery, textbooks, making fun of him, throwing junk at him. He remembers all of it.

But he doesn't hold it against them, but this is a very different style of housing and why is everyone here? Curiosity fills him. To get answers he decided instead of waiting for everyone to wake up he went outside to find someone he can talk to about what happened, but this wasn't an easy task as everyone in the village avoided him. It didn't seem like he'd get any more of a head start than anyone but it is most certainly not a world he was familiar with as plants that have never been seen before were nearby, the feeling of knowing people are around and the wild animals fill his body.

It wasn't just the same feeling as someone watching you secretively it is more so like you can sense an entire presence of the whole surroundings.

To pass the time he wandered around the area, using his intellect to figure out more about where he is and why he's there. While in thought he found himself in the garden that grew flowers that were more beautiful than the ones that grew in his home, "this isn't our earth," Kailim comes to the realisation.

"Eeeeeaaaaaaah!!!" A high pitch screech fills the garden but it's so out of nowhere that there is high doubt that no one will help, Kailim runs towards the sound to find... "Alissa!?!"

She on the ground but doesn't seem to be hurt, most likely fell on the ground but there was another person with her. He was wearing a black trench coat and a short but stiff hat with a long brim and had shaggy hair with very tall posture, he didn't even feel human. He looked to be in his 50's

His presence was different from that of the other villagers, his aura felt as though he had killed his kind in cold blood. He speaks with his shrivelled up voice, "Fair warning children, half of you are not worthy but 1 of you are chosen. Do not overestimate yourselves, in our world the strong rule and the weak struggle as the dying race half of you that have been sent here will not even last a year before going insane. But do not lose hope and do not get blindsight for all of you are of use!"

What he said was very riddle-like, almost like he wanted us to decipher it Kailim thinks to himself. It confirms a lot of Kailim's thoughts towards this place, how it's a different world, how the reason their sense have heightened was for the survival of the fittest.

This way of living was made for him, thinking back the man mentioned a chosen one. Kailim looks back, his intelligence, his physical ability added to the rules of this world allows him to live better than ever. Without a doubt, in his mind, he eliminates the other students as the chosen ones to save the dying tribe which he assumes it's the human tribe but it's still too early to say.

Alissa gets up and hides behind Kailim still in fear of this man, he indeed looks scary but it's his aura that is the most fearsome. "Who are you and why were we summoned here?" Kailim asks the man.

"Ah, where are my manners, my name is Adrian el Grim glad to meet your acquaintance. You were summoned to help save our race the human race, as you most likely saw we are all weak and unable to protect ourselves leaving us as a dying race of the 5 races, although a seemingly harmless task the villagers have more atrocities in store for our saviours. Be sure not to cast demon magic or reveal the identity of the chosen one too soon."

The second he finished his sentence he dispersed into a black mist and vanished. Only leaving the two with more questions, Alissa falls to her knees hand on her chest gasping for air. She practically falling apart just by the man's dangerous pressure he emitted. Kailim leads her back to the rooms where everyone else was at to his surprise everyone was up and seemed to be calm. After they entered the room everyone stopped their murmuring as if they didn't want him to be there. Shortly after the village chief entered and began speaking without warning.

"Children we welcome you to the village, you have all been summoned to our world to help us with our endeavours. Before you get angry at us for taking you away from your homes we are willing to reward you with anything your hearts desire after saving the human clan. This world has 5 clans or races as it might suit you better, the demon race, the beast-man race, the dwarven race and the shadow race. Including us we make up five races of this world, there are sun races but that is of unimportance as the human race is dying. We are the last hope to save the humans from going extinct due to the overwhelming strength of the enemy races."

"Enemy races?" Kailim wonders why the other races are instantly labelled enemies but he knows the elder won't answer.

"We are unable to send you back home so your cooperation will be greatly appreciated. All of you are the chosen ones that have unparalleled skills that the human race was unable to achieve, you will begin training soon as to get used to our world and will receive an education from teacher Merlin of the church. I am the village chief so you may all call me chief or chieftain."

His explanation lacked an explanation leaving half the kids unable to ask a question due to the fact they don't know where to start, there were 21 students all in all and out of all of them the greediest of them didn't see this as a problem but as a chance.

"Chieftain!! I am Lukas and as the leader of my fellow peers here we'd be more than happy to help out however we can as long as you can guarantee that we can live a life of riches and comfort. Knowing that you took us away from our previous life comes at a high price so you must prepare even for the most unreasonable task we ask."

Everyone's anguish ceased, he was the brightest boy in the school not for his intelligence but more so for his leadership. In that second he made sense of the situation and made a very good decision on everyone's behalf, if anyone could be a better survivor it'd be him as long as he has people follow his every whim, even Alissa was putting faith in him. But as the prime target for his bullying, Kailim knew that his intentions were clearer than a day, it was not to protect anyone or save the human race but to strengthen his power and stand atop everything and everyone, he is not even the only talented person here so it'd be tough to find out who was the chosen one that the shady man from before mentioned. Or so Kailim thought it'd be difficult to find.
