Chapter 11: The Brave

Now joined by yet another party member we are back to four. Though I don't know how long it'll last since she's a hero but I'm willing to get past that for the time being.

"So what exactly are we looking for Mika?" Asked Azura as she looked around the street.

"We're trying to get to the king of course." I Answer.

"T-the king are you serious?!?!" Asks Ella with a worried tone.

"Yes, don't worry you're with me. Nothing will happen." I Respond as I walk.

"So why do you wanna see the King?" Asks Hiroko as she follows Mika.

"I wanna know what his true hatred is for Mito." I respond.

Mito just needs a new king and everything could be better, and maybe new heroes. I haven't met all of them but there's a total of six of them.

"Won't you be hunted for joining Us?" Asks Azura while looking at Hiroko.

"Probably but I knew that when I asked to join you guys." Says Hiroko while gazing up at the sky.

I can't say it was wise of her to join us but I won't argue since I personally would've done the same thing. Though it's odd since she hasn't asked me anything about my world, considering she'd have been summoned here too right?

That's at least the gist of what I caught when I first went to the Kingdom of Mito.

After a while the group had reached another gate within the city, it had blocked off entry to another district.

"Sorry I'm going to have to ask what you may need to enter this district." Says the guard.

"I'll be honest, I need to see the King. I have important information for him about the Kingdom of Mito." I Responds while standing at the gate.

After a few moments of whispers between the guards, the gate suddenly starts going up.

"Alright, we'll have our eyes on your group." Says the guards while moving out of the way.

"Trust me we wouldn't do anything bad." I respond while walking through with my group.

I realized they must take things rather serious here, especially security since it wasn't the easiest thing for other people. We got lucky so far just getting through this easy.

We continued onwards through the streets and towards the palace, it took some time due to the gates this kingdom has in place. But we finally had reached the stairs to the palace.

"You sure you wanna do this Mika?" Asks Azura while looking at the long staircase.

The staircase was definitely longer than the one in Mito but I nodded at Azura and we all continued up the staircase. A decent feat for us all especially after all the walking we had already done.

At the top of the stairs were some guards waiting by the door but seeing we had made it up the steps they realized we had been let in. They quickly started opening up the palace doors for us.

Upon entering the main room in the palace we were greeted by a group of butlers who pointed towards the room the king was in. Which was directly ahead of us where he could be seen sitting on the throne.

A man in a nice robe with silver armor on underneath, shiny gold pieces on his chest plate with his kingdoms insignia. He had long dark red hair and brown eyes, while also wearing his shiny crown.

The insignia seemed to have a dragon like design on it, but that at least told me who not to hurt on the battlefield or along my travels.

"Not too many people get to come up here travelers, what is your purpose here?" Asks the King.

"I have information about the Kingdom of Mito." I Respond as I kneel down.

I would feel bad if I didn't show respect for a King who deserved it.

Now that I have all my skills, this should hopefully give me a name as well.

Reveal.

Before Mika's eyes a name and level seemed to appear on the King.

'King Maziel, Level 180'

Realizing he has this skill now made him feel like a fool for not using it earlier on with the fight against the hero Sorakami. Though I don't think it'd have helped very much.

"What information do you posses" Asks King Maziel as he looks down at Mika.

"He's got heroes taking over small villages and putting corrupt lords into power. He also has them hunting me." I Answer while looking up at the King.

"Why would they be hunting you?" Questions the King while ignoring the beginning of the statement.

"They believed I was summoned by a witch but I wasn't and I think it's because I knew he was corrupted." Responds Mika.

The King ponders in thought for a few moments before letting out a brief sigh.

"So that would mean you're the man referred to as Mika, I believe you could be a huge help. Considering we're about to go to war." Says King Maziel while standing up.

"How could I help?" I ask while still kneeling.

"You need to kill the heroes to start since it'll cripple him to lose his precious heroes, but I could also use your help in pushing back one of his armies in the east." Answers King Maziel.

"I was planning on killing them already but I can do the armies part as well of course." I say.

"Good you'll need to keep this for you and your friends then." replied King Maziel while tossing a medal insignia towards him.

Quickly catching it, Mika realizes it's the same insignia on the King's chest plate.

"Thank you, then I'll take it we have your support when needed?"I Say before asking my question.

"Of course Mika. Just ask whenever you need my support." Responds King Maziel.

We now had the support of this amazing kingdom, this was a start to something better. Mybourn supporting us was huge, it meant we had a common cause and backup.

Though it meant us going to the east to help them push back the army that's said to be heading that way. Must have a fort out that way that the king doesn't wanna lose.

It made sense either way.

"Alright we'll be on our way then, any idea on the person we'd meet from your army in the east or a fort name?" I Ask while standing up.

"You'll meet one of my captains out there by the name of Elliot and he will be near fort Livot. Good luck to you guys." Responds King Maziel.

We left the palace and continued our way back through the kingdom once more. Now off to find this fort Livot in the east with that captain Elliot.

I'm not quite sure how we'll find this place yet or if we'll find the captain we were told about but only time will tell. I know it's going to be another long travel since it's out east the only way I haven't gone too far into yet.

But with my current party this travel won't be much to worry about other than if we encounter another hero.

After awhile we had reached the front of the Kingdom once more, with a new path in front of us. A road leading east, thanks to a compass I always had in my hud. The only thing that reminds me that I have some game mechanics while others do not.

Again I have many things I still have yet to learn of this world such as the system in place for me, it doesn't explain much. I know magic is still here and I know I have skills that others could only dream of having.

Though it's possible to learn the magic, it's impossible to have the skills. At least going by the logic of which I have them, it would be impossible.

Then again someone used time magic here as well besides me, meaning magic could be more powerful than I had imagined. I don't have a mana bar or health bar in my vision which is strange.

I've got a level that I don't even know if it matters to have in the first place. Real blood and pain comes from attacks, and some things have occurred that didn't exist in the game.

Yet I still feel calm in this world, even after the events that occurred and after almost dying. This must be what it's like to be brave and to make something of my situation.

"Mika you okay?" Asks Ella as we walk.

"Huh yeah I'm okay." I Answer as I look ahead.

Luckily she helped snap me out of my thoughts. I get too far into them sometimes.

Mika and his party began their travel into the east in search of this captain the king had mentioned, and this fort. Of course Mika's goal has not changed, he still craves the death of the heroes and the death of King Mari.

No one knows that Mika will not stray from his path but they know they can trust him to keep them safe. He's not let anything take them or harm them.

"So what happens when King Mari dies?" Asks Hiroko as she walks next to Mika.

"I guess I'd continue traveling." I Answer as I go into thought.

Those thoughts haven't crossed vary much since my focus never shifted. Since coming to this world I never had clear goals until after I was casted out by the king and heroes.

Everyone has been out for me so far and I'm surprised I wasn't betrayed by Ella or Azura. The hero who joined also makes me wonder if I can trust her.

Everything seems off but I'm trying to have faith in my party no matter what, the other two showed they care about me. I'll figure everything and everyone out soon enough.

Also after being in that strange dream it put me into thought about my life. If that was something that really could've happened than it would mean I was reincarnated here.

Though if it didn't, I don't get how I got here.

Fuck it, I need to stop getting so far into these thoughts before I drive myself crazy.

"Mika everything will work out I promise you that, I'm sorry I didn't originally wanna treat you like an outcast but it wouldn't have been good for me." Says Hiroko as she gazes at the bright blue sky.

"It's okay I guess, though I would've died." I Reply.

"We were brought here for a reason regardless, though you definitely are different Mika." Says Hiroko.

"What does that mean?" I Ask with a confused tone.

"If I'm correct you were told of magic right? If not I take it you don't have to use normal magic right." Replies Hiroko with a small laugh.

"I have everything from the game, this world was a game. At least in my world and I have all of the stuff I had before. Skills, armor, weapons. Everything also appears that way." I say while looking at my sheathed sword.

"That explains some stuff that we were told by our hero who excels in scouting. Though none of us came here the same way, we possess the ability to use magic and have our own special skills as well." Responds Hiroko with a cheerful tone.

Hiroko doesn't seem to be a bad person so far, and gives off a rather pleasant feeling. She also gave me insight on the heroes and how they came here.

Though it makes sense since the only person I met with this kind of power as well was Rin. The guy I met awhile ago back in the dungeon, he possessed a dungeon boss hud and skills it seemed.

"Regardless I'll take advantage of my abilities and do what I need to." I Say while continuing to walk.

The group continues the travel through the war torn forest, it hasn't had time to recover in years. This was the path to the east, the most destroyed part of the world.

No places had time to recover or repair, it's been chaos since the King Mari came to be. At least that's the stories that are told.
