Chapter-39 Kate is back.....

Ben was tired and was about to go to bed, his door bell rang , he went there to check, it was David. he opened the door and went inside, he didn't even greeted him.

David thought that he was still upset about yesterday, so he didn't mind it and followed him in. He was there to explain everything to him. Ben started making some sandwiches, because he know that David won't eat food outside,

David came to him but he was unusually silent, though he was not that angry but he wanted to show his attitude. David was not used to his silence, so he started the conversation,

" Stop doing that and let's talk, Ben" he said.

Ben didn't give him any response, he kept silence.

David was desperate and said, "Look Ben it was not, what you thought, Eva and I are just colleagues , we don't have any..... "

He was about to continue but Ben couldn't keep it in anymore, he started laughing.

David was shocked, and asked, " So you are not angry, you were just pretending to be angry, Ben",

he said," Actually I am angry, but seeing you like this , politely, l can't take it anymore, Eva explained everything to me this morning..,, but why are you here , I thought you'll be so tired enough , your schedule was also tight today"

David said," So Eva explained to you, I am glad she did, Ok then I'll leave now, "

Ben stopped him," Do you think I made these for me alone", there were a plateful of sandwiches on his table, "let's eat , you can leave after that ,I won't stop you" .

They both had their dinner and a good time together.

David said, "So how did it go Ben ,with your blind date?",

Ben was surprised to hear it "what..!! how did you know...and what else you know", asked Ben.

David continued with a laugh," the two weirdest people, becomes a couple, that would be fun to see",

Ben stared at him was happy that he called them a couple.

David left from there after having dinner. He was happy too that everything was fine now.

Eva was still not satisfied, she keep thinking all night and decided that she is not someone who can sit calm in a situation like this , so she decided to investigate in her own way....

Next day morning before going to the hospital, she hired a detective secretly, to gather information about the pendant. She gave him the pictures and asked him to find out whom that pendant was sold.

After that she was off to work. Here, there was another problem waiting for her, the intern duties changed, and she has to follow Jenny now. Eva was frustrated, on hearing that, where as Jenny was waiting for this opportunity.

Eva went to Jenny's office room to ask for the task today, when she stepped in, there were two troubles waiting for her, Kate was back and was at Jenny's office room.

Eva saw them, said ," Hello ma'am",

"Do you really think I'll fall for that again, enough of your honey lips, go ask them to prepare the OR, we have surgeries today, I heard, you are good at assisting so let's just check it," said Jenny sarcastically. Kate was laughing at her.

Eva was panicked on hearing, the word surgeries, now she had to bring Era to handle that, but with Era's condition now, Eva was not sure that she'll be fine. She wrote a note and wore the coat, Era was fine, she read it and went to the OR to prepare.

Jenny started the surgery and it went well, she deliberately asked Era to complete the rest but ,it was not just wrap-up, but in the middle of the Surgery, no fellow surgeon allows an intern to do that, it's like risking a patient's life. But Era was a brilliant second year resident, so she was able to handle it, but Era was so upset that these people call themselves doctors and risk patient's life, just for their personal reasons. Everything was done nicely but Jenny was frustrated that she couldn't make it hard for Eva.

Kate was eagerly waiting for Jenny as it was there plan to get Eva but, Eva was not alone.

Jenny came back furiously, throwing things out of anger.

Kate saw that and said, "so ..you failed...uhh the great Jennifer Gomez is now a good for nothing...you laughed at me, didn't you? now What?...."

Jenny was already furious, she shouted at her, " oh ....just shut up Kate... she is more then what I thought, I'll get her..soon",

Era was back the changing room, she felt bad for the patient, his life was at risk, she wrote everything to Eva, and removed the coat.

Eva was frustrated on them, she can't believe that ,they would play with lives, just to criticise her.

She went back to Jenny's office, she was discussing something with Kate, they stopped when they saw her.

Eva silently came in and put the file on her table, and left, Eva heard them laughing differently as if they are upto something.

David made a list of all those doctors and nurses who were involved in Suzie's case. and met them one by one . The attending doctor who was the main person in this case was out of town, other then him, David met all others ,but he didn't find any lead, while he was asking them, he noticed that most of them were expelled from the case without any reason. He understood that there was really something fishy about this case, he was stuck in, and couldn't find any lead so he decided to wait till the main doctor returns.

Eva, on her side was making every efforts to find anything about the pendant, he called the detective several times from morning to afternoon,

he was now irritated by her calls and said, " ma'am, it's not easy to find about customised things,they don't speak out such things but I'll try all my sources , if I have anything to report I'll call you, please don't call me anymore, and let me do my work peacefully",

Eva was annoyed by his reply and thought,' in movies we see that detectives find everything within minutes but in real life, they just waste time, I think I have to do it myself, .... Serra, Jenny, Kate all stay here so I can enquire in the showrooms here, but how?, Steve, but he will never do that,...ya...i think he will if I do it on my way' she called Steve immediately'.

Steve and her Dad were discussing about Eva and she called,

"Steve I need to go out , I am tired of seeing these same faces every day , I want to step out , will you help me?" she said.

Steve was sure that she is upto something, because every time she asks him out, there is always something more to it,

"So what are you planning this time Eva, where do you want to go", he asked her.

Eva knows that Steve is not easy to fool ,so she politely said," I just need a car and a driver, who knows every corner of the city I want to buy something" ,

Steve said," ok ...but you need to return this favour"

Eva was annoyed," uhh ....what another blind date or this time you are planning to sell me off, "

Steve laughed at what she said and replied ," it's not that ,I just want you to come home to meet Dad , he misses you a lot ,I can feel it",

" Oh ..that's... fine with me, I too need some things from home ,so it's settled, send me a car on Saturday and pick me up on sunday", Eva said without hesitation unaware of the scheme of Steve and her dad.

Steve said "yes, sure" .

He turned back to his Dad and said, " Dad it's done", his dad smiled.....
