Chapter-3 Behind the doors .....

After getting in, she took a warm bath, switch off the lights, and went to bed. But she couldn't sleep, not even a blink, turning right and left all night, her mind was full of Era's suspense.

She thought ' what happened that night? uh... I can't sleep until I find it out..'.

The next day morning at about 7'am she was ready to go to the hospital. When she came out of her room, everybody was surprised to see her coming this early. She used to get up late every day, but today she was off to work at 7 am. It is because she couldn't sleep at all and her curiosity was at its peak. She ignored everyone staring at her and went to work. On her way, she saw the closed mortuary room and started thinking again ' I want to see what's inside that room, if I could find something to know what happened to Era, ahh...I wish I could go there, she was staring at that room when.

Lara called her from the back "hey Eva hi ...wait for me let's go together ". Eva waved at her and waited.

Lara came running and they both started chatting.

Lara saw the dark circles on Eva's face and asked "Did you sleep well? I was unable to. Do you think what my roommates said was true? ",

Eva didn't know what to say but she said: "yes, of course, I slept well, but I don't know if what she said was true I didn't care much about that ".

Lara was sure that Eva was lying but she didn't say anything. They both entered the hospital gate, Eva was mesmerized seeing a man coming towards them. Eva keeps staring at him. He was a handsome man with a beautiful smile on his face,

he came straight to them and asked "Are you ok now?" ,

Eva was completely lost for some time until Lara woke her up. "Hunn, who...are you? Do I know you?" she asked.

Lara pinched her and whispered in her ear " he is Dr. Ben, he was the one who carried you to your room when you passed out yesterday". Suddenly Eva came back to her senses "sorry sir, I couldn't recognize you as I was unconscious at that time, anyways thank you, sir, thank you very much for your help. I am grateful to meet you and ya I am perfectly fine now thanks for asking " she said,

and before he could ask anything else,  she pulled Lara along and ran towards the ward saying, "sir, it's getting late, we'll get going, bye sir."

Dr. Ben was confused and stood there for a while staring at her, he then got back to his work.

When Eva and Lara reached the ward, Lara asked her, "what was that for? why were you in hurry just now? ..he was so dashing, I wanted to talk to him, what's wrong with you?",

Eva had nothing to explain "ah nothing, I just thought I'd be late to meet David sir, oh actually I forgot to tell you yesterday, sir asked me to follow him from now on.. !!!"

Lara was shocked "what, follow him, do you know what it means, you are dead, he is not a human being he is a robot, you are dead, you are so dead." she said.

Eva thought to herself ' ya, but it's better than getting caught' and replied to Lara, "I know, but I can't help it, just think, how could I say no to him ?, all I could say before he was ' yes, that's because he is the one and only David sir".

Dr. Jenny was standing near the ward, she accidentally heard Eva's words and misunderstood that something was going on between them. Dr. Jenny was one of the rudest staff of the hospital, and also an admirer of David sir. She liked him so much for the last three years. When she heard Eva saying those words she was so angry.

She stared furiously at  Eva and shouted at her "where the hell was you? it is your duty to check the Surgery patients, isn't it? then what are you doing now? gossiping? ..get back to work..".

Eva couldn't figure it out, so she kept silent for a while.

Lara answered quickly "yes mam, we were about to start working, sorry mam ''.

After shouting at them Dr. Jenny left from there. Eva still couldn't figure it out, why did that lady shout at her? Lara rushed her "come on don't just stand there let's get started".

They both started working, but Eva was still thinking about Dr. Jenny, as it was her first time hearing such rash words in her life. "what's wrong with her? she spoiled my mood, no one talked to me like this before" she said.

Lara knows that Eva has grown up like a princess, she tried to comfort her, "Just forget about it, she is so rude everybody knows that she can never be polite, by the way, she was one of those who bullied that girl Era, let it be, just don't get involved with her." Lara said.

The moment Eva heard about Era, she got angry and thought to herself ' Don't get involved??? I'll make you pay for all this, just wait and watch.' She was unknowingly attached to Era.

There was a patient who had brain surgery the day before and was under observation, in the ICU ward, where the two ladies were working, now. Dr. Ben came there to check on him in person, as he was his patient. Eva was disturbed by Dr. Jenny's words and didn't notice Ben coming there. Lara and the other ladies there, ( nurses and other doctors) in the ward were all peeking at him, smiling and waiting for a chance to get close to him. But he seems to be aware of those tricks. He kept his distance from them and after checking his patient he was about to get back to his office, but he saw Eva, who didn't even notice him, and went to her. She didn't notice him even when he was standing behind her. She turned back at once and was shocked to see him there, suddenly she lost her balance and was about to fall... Ben bent forward and caught her in his arms.

Everything stopped for a while. Everyone around was staring at them. They were jealous of her they wanted a chance like that. Eva pushed him back and stood there for some time. It was an awkward situation for her. Before she could get what happened, she saw everyone staring at her with their eyes popping out. She ran from there keeping her head down. It was their second time seeing her in his arms so they could hardly digest the fact and started gossiping about them.

Eva always feels awkward to be noticed by everyone. But always ends up being noticed by everyone..... ......
