Chapter-22 That one condition...

Eva's dad agreed to keep her identity a secret but on one condition.

Steve got a call and got off the car, talking on his phone, Meanwhile, Eva and her dad were talking about that condition.

"What...!!???"

she shouted at her father and get down from the car.

"Just tell to everyone, I don't care, I would never do that ... I am leaving... don't follow me,"

she said furiously and went inside the gate. Steve came near and asked him

"what dad? what's wrong with her? why was she shouting ?"

His dad said,

" don't worry she'll be fine, I was just talking about my condition, and she got furious".

Steve got in and asked,

"so, what was your condition dad?".

His father looked at him and said

"I want her to go on a blind date, I choose a gentleman, who can be the best partner for her."

Steve was shocked

"what dad..?? when..?? Did I know him?? why didn't you tell me before.? "

he asked shockingly. His dad said,

" Do you know Mr. Thomas, The chairman of this hospital, he introduced his nephew to me, he is good-looking, talented and he is a doctor too, I liked him. I know Thomas for more than ten years, he is a very good and responsible man, and his nephew, I saw him growing up, he was always brilliant in every aspect. I think I can trust him for Eva".

Steve thought for a while and said

"oh ho... you should have called me, I want to meet him personally. Do you remember his name? "

his father said,

"no, but you will get many more chances my boy, now let's get back, your sister needs time for thinking".

Steve turned and started the car, and they both went to their place,

Eva went to her room furiously, thinking,

"I just can't understand.... how could dad say that?... what???.. blind date.... uhh it rucks my brain to just thinking about it😩😵, .... it is better to be known by everyone than going to, that ...date".

She was restless and kept thinking about how to convince her father to cancel the blind date and keep the secret without any conditions. She went to bed, but couldn't sleep a wink, she was so furious to sleep.

she thought again...

"should I just say that I am possessed or should I say that I want to focus on my career ... uh dad knows better that I am not interested in studies.... uhh I can't sleep... what should I do??",

she kept thinking about that whole night. Her father knows, that she would call to compromise, and was waiting for her call.

She decided something and was eagerly waiting to tell his father about that. Early in the morning, she called her father to make a deal, her father was waiting for her call when the phone rang he lifted it at once and said

"hey sweetheart, I know you would call me...", Eva said

" Dad I have decided something, let us make a deal",

her father was happy to hear that,

" Yes, darling, I know my daughter,...she would never give in and won't run away either,...so what did the crooked mind of yours decide? "

he asked.

She took a long breath and said

" Fine dad I'll go on the blind date, but on one condition".

Her father knows that there will be something fishy.

"so, what is it?"

he asked.

SAe was prepared to fight back, and said

"it's not something horrible like your condition dad...it's just...if I don't like him I will reject him, and you will never force me!!".

Her father laughed and said

"I know... you are my daughter and you'll find a solution for all your problems, but don't forget I am your dad,.. of course, I won't force you..but I'll accept the rejection only if it is from both sides",

Eva was now confused, then she thought

"it's fine, I can make him reject me ... or.. force him to do so"

and finally said

" Ok fine dad, let us do it your way, just set a time and place and inform me, but no weekend dad, I need some rest",

her dad was happy now,

" It's fine, as long as you agree, I'll ask Steve to make the arrangements and let you know, .. well have a great day sweetheart, bye"

he said happily.

Steve heard all the conversation, and asked

" Dad you know Eva she is overly intelligent, and it's a piece of cake for her to get the rejection ",

his father said,

" I know she is, but I trust my choice,.. the main thing that I want to see is.. what he would do? "

Steve understood his father's deep thinking and agreed with him. Eva could finally calm down.

She had many more things waiting for her to worry about, so she took some rest and then got ready to go to the hospital.

She went straight to the managing director's office, and asked

" may I come in sir,"

The director inside said,

" yes come in".

When she got in she saw two gentlemen were already discussing something with him. She thought "Oh no ... not again..!!",

They were Ben and David. They were there to discuss something... The director asked her

" Yes, who is this, what is the matter ...wait... I know you.. you are the same doctor who saved the patient in the lobby yesterday".

Eva said hesitatingly,

"yes sir ",

Both the gentleman looked at her keenly, Ben was shocked to see her. The director continued

" so, what brings you here? Do you want something?"

Eva wavered, she started thinking

"should I tell now or...I should wait here till they both leave"

and then she said,

"No sir nothing serious, you can continue, I'll be outside... I'll come back later ",

David looked at her seriously and said

" just say what you want to say and get out..!!".

She thought

"Mr. Freak is always at his peak of being Freak again"

and said trembling

"Yes sir, actually I am here to request you for something",

she kept the letter on The director's table and was left.The director asked,

" what is it ? is it something serious? "

" no sir, it's just..... I .... I want to change my department"

she said hesitatingly.. keeping her head down, Both David and Ben shouted at once

" no "...."yes".

The director and Eva both were shocked. David and Ben stared at each other.

The director laughed, and said,

"there is confusion, will anyone clear it up for me".

Eva kept her head down and the two handsome doctors looked at the director. He asked,

" What is the confusion?, why both of you answered but differently ? can anyone tell me? "

Ben kept silent, and David replied,

" Actually, she is my student now and she is good at it, I don't want her to lose a good opportunity to learn".

Eva could sense that her trial for changing the department failed, she was collecting the pieces of her broken hopes,

"what timing, ...two of the most handsome men in this hospital are interested in me but, I want to run away, why I keep getting tangled with these two people....".

The director was surprised to hear that from David,

" It's very rare to hear David, talking like this about someone.. I don't remember, you complimenting anyone, David ...Ya... it was two years ago... when you were here requesting for that girl..."

He was about to continue, but David interrupted, and said,

" Well I think I need to go, sir, I need to check on my patients, it's getting late ",

he stood up and turned to Eva and said,

" when you're done here, come to the VIP ICU ward directly ".

He spoke to her as if he knows that she can't transfer departments. Now Eva's hopes diffused completely ... not even the broken pieces, she said with a drowning voice

"Yes sir".

David left the room.

The director looked at Ben who was staring at Eva, and asked

" So Ben Why did you say, Yes? ",

Ben was shocked, and then said

"Nothing special, I just want to support her decision,... it would be good to have talents in neurology"

Eva said

"no sir, I wanted to go to pediatrics department..."

Ben was surprised to hear that.... But the director said,

" I will suggest you continue with David, he is very picky when it comes to choosing his interns you are lucky and I am sure you know that too".

Eva has nothing to say so she said yes and left the room. Ben stayed there to talk.....

Though Eva tried her best to avoid these gentlemen, but her life keep tangling with these two.....lets see what else is there for Eva to face...
