Chapter-20 Jerry is back...

Eva and Lara were on their way to David's office talking to each other. When they reached the lobby, Eva saw a man standing near the gate and talking to one of the doctors.

He looked familiar, so she bent forward to see his face. The moment she saw him, she turned back and started running, Lara stopped her, but Eva held her hand and ran away, taking her along.

They took the other way and went upstairs. Lara stopped her

" Eva, What's wrong?, Did David sir send you a message? tell me right now or just run alone, I won't come with you. "

she said,

" Ok then, just stay here. "

said Eva and started running again. Lara was offended now and she stood there, staring at Eva. Eva came back and said

"Ok .. fine .. I'll tell you .. Do you remember I told you about a stalker back in high school"...

Lara thought for a while and said

" Ya ... that super senior ".

"yes..!!, I think I just saw him.. " said Eva.

" What ...!!?? here ?? where!??" she asked shockingly.

" shhh don't shout... there, in the lobby"

Eva said and pointed her finger at the man standing in the lobby.

" Oh...what a small world !! ....What was his name ?..."

Lara asked surprisingly looking at that man. Eva replied.

"Jerald ' shortly Jerry ",

"Oh.. yes, but seriously he doesn't look like one, "

Lara said awfully.

" ya .. ya .. with his personality no one would guess his name to be Jerry"

Eva replied laughingly.

Jerry was a tall man with a masculine body and an overall huge personality. He was Eva's super senior and Steve's classmate.

But Steve and Jerry were always on bad terms with each other. Eva was Jerry's first love and he made her life hell by following her everywhere in her high school. It was a one-sided unrequited love, which made Eva leave that city in the middle of the year.

Steve and Jerry always had fights because of Eva, back then, that was the main reason why Eva changed schools. And now he is here in the same hospital, Eva thought that her life is going to become hell again. Jenifer and Jenny came running to welcome him and hugged him.

Eva saw all that and remembered, Era mentioning Kate's boyfriend, Jerry, she thought

"oh so Jerry is Kate's boyfriend, that's good .... of course, dark diffuse in dark... I must say...!! what a pair simply made for each other".

Lara said

"hey Eva, I think you are safe now, he already had someone,... see it's Jenny ...that's good.., he won't bother you... And you can have your quality time with the secret one in your diary..ha..".

"Shut up Lara I don't have anyone...even if I have, you will be the first one to know of course "

said Eva. Ben was standing behind them and asked,

" So about whom are you talking ? ".

Lara and Eva were stunned to hear him there. Lara said

" Sir, good afternoon, we were just gossiping "

Eva didn't say anything, she was just staring at him angrily, but Ben was laughing affectionately. Eva held Lara's hand and rushed to David sir's office.

A meeting was held for all the heads of the departments.. and three new faces were introduced to it.

One of them was Jerry from the Thoracic department and the other two were from other departments. Jerry came specially to greet David as he was Jerry's teacher. David was happy to see his student in a successful career.

A welcome party was set and all the higher officials were invited. Everybody went back to their work, Jerry followed David to his room to discuss something.

Eva and Lara were waiting for David sir at his office. David entered the room and Jerry followed him, both girls have no idea about Jerry. Eva was shocked to see Jerry in David's office.

She covered her face with her hair, took out a surgical mask from her pocket, and wore it. David wants to introduce Jerry to his interns so he called them all.

When everyone was gathered there he formally introduced Jerry, an expert Cardiologist and also his former student. Eva keeps hiding behind Lara. When David saw her weird behavior, he called her in front. Her mind was roaming, she didn't know how to face Jerry.

He asked her

" Miss Eva can you explain,...why you are wearing a mask ?",

Eva was out of ideas then suddenly she got one, she started sneezing and pretended to be sick.

David asked

" you were fine just now, what happened suddenly? ",

Eva said

" no sir, I was feeling extremely tired just now,"

she started sneezing again. David asked her to leave. Jerry found her to be familiar but couldn't figure it out. Eva escaped from the room of danger, and finally took a breath of relief.

She went to her room and wrote everything for Era so that she could suggest her something. Eva also mentioned how helpless she felt in the emergency room and wore the coat.

Era came back, and she read the whole thing... Era replied,

"I am sorry, that I made you feel less about yourself, I know you felt helpless, but it was not that you don't want to help, but it was because you were unable to do that. It was not your fault so stop blaming yourself.

Why do you think negatively, it was our teamwork which saved a life. so cheer up... I don't know how Jerry is personally but I know one thing he can do anything for Kate so please don't do anything carelessly, and please.. please be careful with them.

It's better for you to just shift the department, just write a letter to the head office and go to another department neurology, pediatrics, or any other but don't stay there. And the main thing, I am sure Jenny would be offended as I can sense from what happened today.

so don't get involved with her... please be safe. She finished the letter and removed the coat. Eva came and read the letter, the way Era was concerned about her, made Eva feel so good that she was ready to fight anyone who comes in their way for her.

It was more than a friend, a sister-type feeling. Ben called David to ask if he was coming to the party, but David never goes to such parties. Ben told him that it is a welcome party not only for those fellow surgeons but also for someone whom he would want to meet.

"Don't beat around the bushes, just get to the point, Whose that? "

David asked seriously. Ben said

" You will get to if you come here" and hung up the phone.

David was now furious and was wondering

"who could it be? Did he just bluff or there is someone special coming today ".

Ben thought

"Now David will come... that's good, I won't be alone, I'll have company now",

The party was about to start, everything was set, the guests were arriving one by one, Ben was ready to go and David was still in a confusion that he should believe Ben or not ..., after giving it a long thought, he finally decided to give it a try.

He dressed and was ready to leave, he called Ben and said seriously

" Ben I am coming.. but make sure you were right, or else, you're gonna pay for this ",

Ben laughed upon hearing this.

David agreed annoyingly to come but he may receive something which long for........
