Chapter -24 The last room...
Eva and Lara went to David's office, he was reading something serious, and two more interns were sitting and reading some books.
He gave them, some references and asked them to study. After a while, he asked to make a detailed report of what they studied just now. Everyone started looking at each other's faces. David shouted,
" What are you waiting for? just write it and go...".
Eva thought,
"I was wrong about him, he is not at all emotional, he has only one emotion and that's getting freaked out with everyone around him... uhh... what should I do now",
She was stuck there so she thought of changing the coat without being noticed and tried to remove her coat, she thought David didn't notice her but, he said
" What's wrong with you Eva, do you think this is your leisure room", she wore it again.
Now she has no other option, accepting her defeat, she took the books and started reading them, that was very quickly. Within just five minutes, she started making the report, completed it, and submitted it.
Everybody else was writing. David checked Eva's report in front of her, though it was not that detailed, how Era made it, it was good. The main thing he noticed was, the underlines were different from those of Era's notes. He was confused again. He asked her to leave.
Eva was happy that she was able to escape from there and waited outside for Lara. She got a call, it was a nurse from the VIP ICU ward, she asked
" Hello, are you doctor David's assistant ?",
Eva said
" yes",
then she continued
" well ma'am I have been calling him but his phone is not reachable, can you tell him to call me here? ",
Eva panicked and asked
" Is everything fine there? ",
the nurse said
" yes everything is fine here please don't worry, and please inform him immediately".
All the interns came out one after the other. Eva rushed back inside to inform him and said
"Sir, I just received a call from the VIP ICU ward. The nurse there said that she had been calling you but couldn't reach you, she asked me to inform you to call her back....!!",
hearing that he panicked and checked his phone and stood up in a hurry to go there.
Eva saw him getting tensed and said
"Sir, she said nothing to panic everything is fine ".
David looked at Eva and nodded his head and said
" hmm, you can go now",
she was very curious about what made him panic, was that because, of all the patients or of that last room?
Her curiosity about Eva raised again, she started thinking
" Who could be there? David sir was possessive about it, but about whom? his father or mother or any other family member ... uhh then why would he restrict anyone from going there, oh ho... I can't help thinking about it... ".
When she was busy thinking about that, he asked
" Eva, Do you want anything else? or do you want to write another report if so there are the references "
he pointed his finger toward the table,
" hmm. ... no sir, I am leaving"
she said and ran out. When Eva left the room, David instantly called the nurse,
" Hello, it's David, I didn't notice my phone, it was in silent mode, why did you call? Is everything okay? "
he said,
"Yes, everything is fine sir, I called you to ask for a favor, actually I need leave for two days I'll be back the day after tomorrow, it's very important... please just two days",
the nurse requested him. He thought for a while and said
"Ok fine, but can you find a trustable substitute,"
the nurse said
" yes sure sir, I'll ask someone to care for the patient ".
He thought about something and said
" no, it's fine, you can go, I'll take care of the rest".
She said
"thankyou, sir",
and hung up the call.
Leaving David's office, Eva went to her room and shared everything with her soul friend. Era read everything that Eva wrote to her.
Eva mentioned Jerry and how he treated her and strictly instructed Era, not to get involved with him in any situation, because she knows that Era can't handle him and that he is a beast.
Era was so much concerned about Eva and wrote back to be careful she also saw the report Eva made and understood that, though Eva pretends to know nothing she is very good at studies, all that she needs, is practice.
Eva had her dinner, chatted with her friends for a while, and went to bed. After some time, at about 2 am, all the doctors got a call, it was an emergency announcement call.
There was a road accident with a bus and all the victims were rushed to the hospital. Every available doctor was informed to come to the hospital emergency room. Eva knows that she could not be a help in such situations, so she wrote about the emergency, get changed, and wore the coat, Era read the note and understood the situation there, and rushed to the ER.
The ER was a complete mess, there were more than twenty patients who were brought there. Era rushed to the patients who needs her, they were sorting them out according to their injuries, and almost all the doctors present in the hospital were busy taking care of the patients.
Eva assisted David and Jhon with their surgeries one after the other. Everybody was busy with their work. The situation was under control now all the patients brought to their hospital were saved that made Era happy.
There was a little girl among them, she was brought with some minor injuries on her chest and head. When Era was done with her work, she came to that little girl and sat beside her holding her hand. David was passing by and saw Era sitting there, though she was Eva, she reminded him of Era.
He cleared his mind and moved forward. He suddenly remembered something and was in a hurry to go to the VIP ICU. He was on his way when a sudden alarm rang, it was code blue, an email situation in ICU, a patient who just had surgery was in a critical stage, he needs medical attention.
David was in a maze, of where to go, the patient in the ICU was critical and needed his help immediately but on the other side, the one in the VIP ward is very important to him and can become critical if don't go there.
He had to choose one or he had to trust someone, he decided to go to the patient in the ICU, and also decided to entrust the other patient to someone else, but all he could think of is Eva because she has the authority to go in.
He called her and gave her the instructions on the phone, Eva was now Era, she knows nothing about that last room. When she heard about the emergency she ran towards the VIP ward, but she didn't know the password access to go in.
She wrote a brief note for Eva and removed the coat. Eva came back and read the letter... 'please go in fast and get into the last room, the patient in there needs these medicines injected immediately, it's an emergency.
Eva understood the situation and went into the ward, she hurried to the last room. And finally entered the room with lots of suspense...
who could be there...inside the
a secret door, ....is it just Eva's doubt or someone very seat to David is in there.
