A Crumbling Reign

Queen Serina regarded the incompetence of her ladies maid with cool eyes.

"I said I want him in the physicians room not in his chambers he needs attention!"

"The physician's request is that he be sent to his own chambers for his own comfort as nothing more can be done, Your Majesty." The ladies maid replied shakily as she avoided meeting the queen's gaze.

"The physician, advices to prepare for his demise." The ladies maid added gently.

"I will do no such thing! Get out!" Queen Serina shouted throwing her glass of red wine at her. The wine spilled across her ladies maid's frock as she quickly left the room. The wine glass shattered into pieces upon hitting the floor.

She was not going to let her husband leave her alone to run a kingdom. She frantically yelled for the menservants to keep the physician hostage in the king's chambers till he recovered. First her plan to eliminate the Queen of Rubicund had failed and now this!
