Chapter 33: Rampaging Monster

Elias stood up and held his grandfather's hands.

The old man glanced at Elias. He sighed and sat back down in his seat.

"Hah, why don't you stay with me here? I need more hands in this small junk shop. Besides that employee of mine is a lazy bum!"

Elias smiled hugging his grandfather.

Dux who woke up in the middle of the night heard the urgency of the voice outside of his home. Dux stood up and walked outside of the hut.

"Chief!"

"What's going on?"

There were numerous Beastmen outside, many were holding torches as they gathered around.

Lenta woke up in the middle of the night, she wore her clothes and ran outside due to the loud commotion.

"Chief, we found something at the entrance. The others have helped her inside…"

Dux walked near the Beastmen who were gathered around. Fortis was awake, and Dulcis was tending to a small girl wearing ragged clothes.

"Everyone move away!"

Callidus holding a small potion ran with all his might, he immediately kneeled and fed the green liquid to the girl's mouth.

"That child is strange…"

"Your right...she looks like us but she has…"

Dux who heard the other Beastmen's conversation walked closer to the girl. Dux stretched his hand, and what he saw immediately made him bewildered. A child wearing ragged brown clothing, with long ears, and a puffy tail.

Unlike Dux and the other Beastmen who has white wolf ears, and long wolf tail. The child in front of them looked different, instead of a wolf the child had bunny ears and a bunny tail.

"This child is…"

Dux glanced at Callidus who had the same bewildered expression on his face.

Fortis stepped forward seeing the young girl filled with wounds all over her body.

"Her wounds they're deep as if they were cut by a sharp weapon. What kind of creature would hurt such a young child on the brink of death"

Fortis held his axe tighter, he clenched his fists seeing the young girl's body filled with wounds.

"Dux have you seen the child's body?…."

"We're not the only Beastmen, there are other beasts who have made a pact with a different animal…"

"Oi Pan, Terzo wake up!"

"Hmm? Primo, what is it?"

Pan and Terzo woke up rubbing their eyes.

"Something is happening outside…Everyone in the village is up.."

"Hmm? Did something happen?"

"Well, we're about to find out!"

The three left their house, Pan looked around and everyone was urgently running around the village. Many of the warrior Beastmen who were trained by Fortis were gearing up and holding many weapons in their arms.

Dux was also holding an axe in his hands.

Seeing the commotion the three small Beastmen glanced around the whole place.

"What's going on?"

"Primo, Pan, Terzo!"

The three glanced back at their mother who had a nervous expression plastered on her face.

"Come and help me, also pack your belongings.."

Lenta went inside their home bringing many tools and blankets made of skin. The three Beastmen glanced around, and many of the female Beastmen started to pack their belongings. Meanwhile, the men were gearing up.

Lenta who came out of the house, grabbed Pan and Terzo. Suddenly she took out a pair of strong ropes.

"Primo. Sorry about this sweetie.."

Grabbing the rope, Lenta tied Primo and put him inside the basket made of coconut trees.

"Ehh????!! Old hag! What do you think you're doing?!"

"Well I know how stubborn you are, and since this is a dangerous situation I need you to stay with me as close as possible.."

"Mom, what's going on?"

Lenta with her smile ruffled Pan and Terzo's hair.

"It's alright sweetheart, everything will be just fine.."

"Oii old hag what about Dad?"

"He will be alright, first we have to evacuate."

Lenta held both Terzo and Pan in each of her hands. She glanced at Dux who was busy reinforcing the village's wall with the other Beastmen.

'Be alright..'

Suddenly the ground started to shake uncontrollably. In the middle of the night, thousands of birds from the forest flew into the sky.

The Beastmen were all holding their weapons tightly, they all glared at the forest in front of them. The tree's swayed, and a large explosion resounded inside the woods.

"Grahhhhhhhh!!!"

With Its demeaning tone, it caused many of the Beastmen to shiver in fright. In the woods, a huge hand came out of the forest. The hand was the size of 800 centimeters.

"M-Mom…what is that?"

Pan glanced at the huge hand that came out of the woods, the other female Beastmen also stopped in their tracks shivering.

"Callidus! Help the women and children to evacuate now!"

With Dux's shout, the Beastmen who were stunned by fear regained their sense.

"What? No, I'll stay here, I can help with my magic!"

"No, prioritize the women, your magic can protect them from harm!"

Callidus who saw the urgency in Dux's eyes nodded his head, he held the small girl in her arms and began to help the women and children to evacuate.

Meanwhile, Dux readied his axe.

"Everyone! Don't falter! Remember our goddess is right here, and she will protect us from any harm done!"

"Aye!"

Dux readied his weapons, he changed his footing and was ready to attack. The other Beastmen followed suit.

"Grahhhhhhhh!!"

The hand started to twitch uncontrollably, and a human face appeared in front of the Beastmen. The face was huge, the same size as a modernized home in the United States.

The only thing on the face was a huge mouth, the creature doesn't have any feet. It only had a head that is connected to two hands.

With its massive build, the creature inflicted fear on the Beastmen and even Dux and Fortis could feel the urgency and power emitting from the creature in front of them.

"Grahhhhhhhh!"

The hand started to move closer with fast speed on the village. Its mouth was open, revealing a set of sharp teeth with a long tongue.

"Grahhhhhhhh!!"

"Oh no you don't!"

Fortis with Dux rushed at the monster at full speed.

Meanwhile, Cedric who was asleep inside his room suddenly received a notification.

[Warning!]

[The host must make a decision!]

[The Beastmen are in a terrible situation!]

[The Beastmen are slowly losing!]

Cedric who suddenly woke up due to the system's constant notification glanced at the warning signs all over the system's interface.

Cedric who felt the urgency immediately entered the systems room, he sat down and glanced at the planet, zooming on it a certain creature was rampaging.

Many of the Beastmen were heavily injured, some are even on death's doors.

And a certain figure stood in front of the monsters, his body covered and drenched with his blood. His left hand was gone, and the man had a disheveled look on his face.

"D-Dux?!"

Cedric panicked seeing such a sight. He failed to save Dux many years ago, and now it was the same situation as well. Dux was once again at death's door.

"I…."

Dux picked up the axe with his right hand and put the other axe in his mouth.

"I….have already faced death once…"

"Do you think…that you can scare me?!"

"Grahhhhhhhh!"

Dux rushed to the monster, but he could feel his stamina was slowly depleting. His muscles started to sore, and his energy started to dim. But even so, Dux rushed with all his strength.

'My body….it hurts..'

'But….I must…buy time for the others to escape..'

Fortis was bleeding all over, and the other Beastmen who sustained minor injuries began to help the other Beastmen who were in a critical state to escape.

'I must buy time…'

Suddenly Dux could feel something holding his body, he glanced at his stomach and the monster's tongue wrapped around his stomach.

'No, I was too careless and kept on defending..'

The tongue slowly entered the monster's mouth dragging Dux inside as well, suddenly the monster closed its mouth.

The sharp teeth stabbed Dux's entire body.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!!"

One of the Beastmen looked at Dux who was slowly being swallowed by the Monster, he raised his weapon.

"No don't ackkkkk run! Prioritize the others! Ahhhhhhhhhh run!!"

"But…"

The young Beastmen glanced at the others who were seriously injured, and with a heavy heart, he began to carry the remaining Beastmen on his shoulder.

"Please chief! Don't die!"

The Beastmen ran with all his might, he carried the last Beastmen on his back. He was terrified and worried.

'Please chief…please be safe...everyone in the village relies on you...you are the pillar of our village!'

As the Beastmen kept on running, suddenly a small shadow passed by him and he stopped running.

'That's…..'

"Urghhh Mon…"

"Lani!"

The Beastmen who saw his dying friend looked back at the small figure running towards the monster. He glanced at his friend and continued to run with all his might.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!"

Dux used his hand to get away from the sharp mouth, but even with all his strength he couldn't get out. Slowly he could feel his whole body being crushed by the sharp teeth. Blood kept oozing out of his body.

'Shit!!!'

"Dad!"

Dux glanced at the small boy in front of him. Fear overtook his entire body seeing his child in front of him.

"No run!!"
