Chapter 17: Kingdom in Despair

Princess Astria Faith Felice,she was the 2nd child of the king and queen,she was frail when she was a child so the palace servants treat her with care,she was very lovable and smart as well

When she was 7 years old her power manifested and the palace servants were aware of the magic she holds,Her wind magic had protected this kingdom from being conquered by barbarians and she has done many things to help the kingdom prosper

"hic our lovely princess" the servants cried and the palace was in sorrow for the news that their princess was being sold to the emperor "father we can't let ria sacrifice herself for us" Roland "then do think some ways to win the emperor" he angrily shouted back he was frustrated just thinking that his daughter will leave them

When the emperor left the meeting and left one thing that he wants the palace was already preparing their selves for the princess to be given to the emperor,the king and Roland were the only ones left at the meeting room, but then someone knock at the doors "your majesty it's me Michael aide of the princess,she ordered me to take you to her palace"he said outside the door and so the two was feeling anxious

"What's wrong with ria" ask by Roland and hurriedly went out to open the door where Michael was standing. "i don't know your Majesty she just ask me to take you two to join the their tea,her highness the queen is accompanying her" he replied

Usually in peaceful times they often had tea time altogether but now they felt like there's something that their princess was about to tell "Roland let's go" the king came near them and walks first towards her palace

Astria went home with a heavy heart but she needs to tell it to her family before the emperor so she told the maid to call for her mother while Michael calls for her father and brother "we just saw each other this morning at breakfast ria so why are we suddenly having tea" her mother ask with suspicious eyes

Unlike Her mother who has yellow like sun colored hair and green eyes,Ria was very different and she didn't resemble her father as well,it was because she took the ancient appearances of the royal family,the first king and queen of the felice kingdom were mages and also a princess of the Sylvester Empire.The king had Silver gray colored hair that resembles his magic which was the wind and has dark purple eyes while the queen who was a princess that had blonde colored hair with a pair of blue tortoise eyes that resembles her water magic

Their first child,The 2nd king of the felice kingdom had both if their unique appearances, silver gray colored hair and blue tortoise eyes,it was proof that the child had inherited the power that his parents yield and it was passed down to their generations however had become rare and Ria was like a miracle and lucky enough to be born with this feature along with the powers that it had

That's why some people are aware that she yields magic but others doesn't know,and because of the blessings she received she promised to protect her kingdom at all cost

"oh mom i just miss you so much" she ran to her mother and gave her a hug "i just arrived and yet your acting like you'll never saw me" she said and ria bit her lip "oh mother don't get shock about some things that I'll tell you ok" she said and guided her mother to the garden

There was a reason why she called her mother first she knew that the shock might make her ill especially if she'll hear it to the Emperor that's why she needs to explain "what is it sweety why are you being serious" she smiled knowing that she must have inherited this traits from her mother, the way she was sweet and kind yet very strict sometimes

"well what do you think if i marry the emperor" she slowly ask to make sure she won't be surprised "huh marrying the emperor, he's cruel and very intimidating you know it too ria,he only stayed here for like 4 days yet he's presence is hard to not notice" she said and drink her tea "true but mother i needed to marry this year and the emperor is handsome if he ever ask for my hand in marriage I'll gladly accept it" she said trying to be happy like a girl in love but her mother suddenly felt dizzy and she already knows where this conversation is headed to

"ughh" she hold her head and ria hurriedly stand and hold her mother "mom are you alright" she said and used her wind magic to give her some fresh air. "Ria are you marrying off to the Emperor to save us" she said in her dizzy and about to cry voice,Ria knelt down and hug her mother's lap

"well he's handsome and he's the emperor" she said and she felt some some wet drops in her hair and she couldn't bear to face her mother's crying face "Hic Ria my sweet child" she felt her mother's hand caressing her hair

the queen might not know what had happened but if her daughter is saying some things like she's saying her goodbyes meant she had won the Emperor "mom don't cry so hard or you'll get sick" ria was holding her self back so she hugged her mother's lap so tight but the tears gradually came out

The maid was having a sorrowful look and the king as well as Roland notice the atmosphere, Michael had led them to the garden and there they saw the queen sobbing while caressing the head of her child who was crying as well at her lap,Anne and the other maid that was standing behind was crying as well and they realize how serious must she have said to them

"dear,Astria" the king walk towards them and the queen sobs harder and shouted at him."why can't you even do your job as a king and let your daughter do it herself hic" she cried and the king was shock "mother what's happening" Roland ask and came near them Ria who was crying wipes her tear and face her father and brother

"well hic the emperor will leave in two days and hic hic I'll be coming with them"she said and the king stumbled but Michael caught him while Roland was in disbelief. "what what do you mean ria" he ask "well i won him over hehehe" ria smiled but tears were falling in her eyes "ah this can't be true" Roland was in agony and tears had fallen in his eyes as well

"Ria you can't do this to us" he cried and wipes his tear so ria came near him and gave him hug while the king went to the queen and hugged her tight

"my child how could you send our child" the queen cried and the king only comforted her "oh brother your not a child anymore so don't cry so much,i can still spend some time with you" she said but her tears won't stop as well, Roland gave a tight hug to her sister like not wanting to let her go......
