"What the hell happened to the lights?!"

"Whose playing such a dumbass prank?!"

"Someone take out a lighter!"

As the abductors took their time trying to adjust to the sudden power outage, the children let out violent crying for the person who had just gotten shot and the sudden darkness.

In the middle of this chaos, Jess felt someone sneak up from behind her.

"Who-"

"Shh, it's me." Rowan whispered softly into her ear, using the loudness around him to his advantage.

Jess calmed down when she heard Rowan's voice, a huge part of her was relieved that he didn't go to the fast food place. She heard them talk on the phone about ambushing Rowan when he arrived at the destination.

With no words said, he tugged on her wrist, telling her to take the children and leave under the guise of panic. Jess wasted no time and led the crying children out with her, trusting Rowan's plan completely.
