the new emperor

Linden rushed to his majesty the kings chambers. The king was pale and dying

Linden's POV

"Linden my son, I'm dying and i don't have much time left but please take care of this empire, i want you to also take care of Lilith, she is a good woman, i hope you have strong children" he said. father's hand was touching my face and in a split second his hand fell down. "THE OLD EMPEROR IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE NEW EMPEROR" a man standing outside screamed. father was now dead and i was the new emperor.

I walked out of fathers chamber in sadness. Lilith came running down the hallway crying, her cries pained me more than my fathers death. Lilith was close to my father because of her father the duke. i remember seeing her as a child walking with my mother in the imperial gardens. father thought of her as a young genius.

"Lilith, stop crying i said. father wouldn't have wanted to see you like this" i said. she was crying heavily and i hugged her, she kept on crying and i continued comforting her. i kind of loved hugging her like this

-four days later-

fathers body was berried near mothers in the south of Rhea. their graves were found on a cliff looking directly at the ocean. that place was where they first met. i was crowned Emperor.

During fathers funeral Lilith kept on crying, my hand was on her waist the whole time, i was trying to comfort her. occasionally i could see Edgar glaring at me, his hands were curled up in fists. it was plastered on his face that he was angry that i was holding Lilith and he wasn't.
